공작물 적재를 위한 자동정렬 및 적재장치의 설계 및 제작 (Design and Fabrication of an Automatic Alignment and Loading System for Workpieces)

  • This paper describes the design and fabrication of an automatic alignment and loading system for workpieces. To move a workpiece to a chucking position of a machine tool using a gantry robot, an automatic aligning device is required to load the workpiece before machining and automatically align them. The automatic alignment system was conceptually designed, and the structural analysis was performed for the main parts such as the top plate, center support, front and back support, and support shaft. Based on the structural analysis results, the size of these structures was determined. The automatic alignment system was manufactured, and the vertical movement characteristics of the workpiece up-and-down movement device and the rotation characteristics of the workpiece rotation device were experimentally examined. The result has confirmed that they operate normally.

서픽스트리 클러스터링 방법과 블라스트를 통합한 유전자 서열의 클러스터링과 기능검색에 관한 연구 (A Study on Clustering and Identifying Gene Sequences using Suffix Tree Clustering Method and BLAST)

  • The DNA and protein data of diverse species have been daily discovered and deposited in the public archives according to each established format. Database systems in the public archives provide not only an easy-to-use, flexible interface to the public, but also in silico analysis tools of unidentified sequence data. Of such in silico analysis tools, multiple sequence alignment [1] methods relying on pairwise alignment and Smith-Waterman algorithm [2] enable us to identify unknown DNA, protein sequences or phylogenetic relation among several species. However, in the existing multiple alignment method as the number of sequences increases, the runtime increases exponentially. In order to remedy this problem, we adopted a parallel processing suffix tree algorithm that is able to search for common subsequences at one time without pairwise alignment. Also, the cross-matching subsequences triggering inexact-matching among the searched common subsequences might be produced. So, the cross-matching masking process was suggested in this paper. To identify the function of the clusters generated by suffix tree clustering, BLAST was combined with a clustering tool. Our clustering and annotating tool is summarized as the following steps: (1) construction of suffix tree; (2) masking of cross-matching pairs; (3) clustering of gene sequences and (4) annotating gene clusters by BLAST search. The system was successfully evaluated with 22 gene sequences in the pyrubate pathway of bacteria, clustering 7 clusters and finding out representative common subsequences of each cluster

다중 관계 그래프를 이용한 유전체 보존영역의 계층적 시각화와 개략적 전사 annotation 도구 (Rough Computational Annotation and Hierarchical Conserved Area Viewing Tool for Genomes Using Multiple Relation Graph.)

  • 생물정보학의 발전으로 다양한 형태의 생물정보가 컴퓨터 프로그램에 의해 양산되고 있다. 단순한 서열간의 비교나 작은 규모의 자료를 처리하기 보다는 다각화된 정보와 대규모의 생물정보를 취급하고 있다. 그 중에서 시각화와 annotation를 위한 도구개발은 지난 10년간 많은 연구가 되고 있는 분야이다. 그럼에도 일반화된 도구 개발은 생물정보의 다양성과 사용자 요구의 다양화로 인해 매우 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 유전체간 알려진 정보와 다중 관계 그래프를 이용하여 이를 annotation하고 시각화하는 GenoVA 시스템을 제안한다. 다중 정렬을 위한 몇 개의 프로그램이 존재하지만 그 방법들이 서열내의 복잡성 때문에 많은 정보가 누락된다. 따라서 제안된 방법에서는 pairwise alignment를 확장하여 모든 유전체간 비교를 통해 연관성 도출한다. 유전체간 보존되는 영역의 빈도수와 BLAST 점수가 높은 것을 블록노드라 하고 이들 간의 연관관계를 다중 관계 그래프로 표현하였다. 또한 GenoVA는 알려진 정보, COG, 유전자를 시각화하고 다중 관계 그래프의 한 영역을 중심으로 클러스터링된 경로를 계층적으로 보여주었다. 이때 누락되거나 알려지지 않은 유전자나 다른 annotation정보 추출할 수 있다. 본 논문의 실험을 위해 열 개의 박테리아 유전체가 사용되었고 시각화와 annotation을 위한 자료로 활용하였다. GenoVA는 새로운 유전체에 대한 개략적이고 전산적 annotation을 직관적이고 편리하게 제공한다.

  • 생물체의 유전자 서열들간의 유사성을 서로 비교해보는 일은(sequence alignment)는 분자생물학 연구에서 아주 기본적인 작업에 속한다. 이 작업은 컴퓨터 과학적 입장에서 살퍼보면 일종의 스트링 분석작업인데, 그 과정에는 매우 복잡한 생물학적인 가정이 내포되어 있다. 본 발표의 목적은 크게 두가지인데 하나는 컴퓨터과학 연구자들에게 서열정렬(sequence alignment)이 가지는 분자생물학적 의미에 대하여 개략적인 이해를 돕도록 하는 것이며, 다른 한편으로 분자생물학자들에게는 스트링처리방법을 이용한 서열정렬 문제에서 어떤 기술적인 한계가 있으며 그 한계를 극복하기 위한 새로운 방법론에 대하여 소개하여 컴퓨터과학적 이해의 폭을 넓히는 것이다. 그리고 생물체의 서열정보의 정렬과 매우 유사한 개념으로 각종 선형구조체(linear object)를 추상화 할 수 있른데, 그들간의 유사성도 같은 분자생물학적 방법론을 차용하여 분석할 수 있음을 보인다. 동시에 이것을 이용하여 각종 인터넷 문서나 프로그램, 등의 표절과 무단도용 등을 추적할 수 있는 방법론을 기존의 genomic sequence alignment tool을 차용해서 매우 효율적으로 할 수 있음을 보인다.

  • Because misaligned shafts have caused noise, vibration, bearing failures, and stress concentration of coupling part, which decrease the efficiency and life of a shaft system, the proper alignment of shaft system should be monitored continuously in dynamic condition. To solve these problems under dynamic condition, a telemetry system is this study is used to find the condition of the least bending moment, which is known by analyzing the structure and stress induced by misalignment is investigated. The moment derived from two shaft strain at the nearby coupling is measured. The bending strain is measured 5 times for average in static state as well as dynamic state with 100~700 rpm.

  • As optical fiber communication grows, the fiber alignment become the focus of industrial attention. This greatly influence the overall production rates for the opto-electric products. We proposed multi-axis nano positioning stage for optical fiber alignment. This device has 3 DOF translation and sub nanometer resolution. This nano stage consist of 3 PZT-driven flexure stages which are stacked parallel. The displacement of it is measured with capacitance gauge and is controlled by computer-embedded main controller. The design process of flexure stage using FEM is proposed and the performance evaluation of this system is verified with experiments.

  • In recent years, as the demands of VBNS(Very high speed Backbone Network Service) and VDSL(Very high-data rate Digital Subscriber Line) increase, the development of kernel parts of optical communication such as PLC(Planar Light Circuit), Coupler, WDM elements increase. The alignment and the attachment technology are very important to fabricate the optical elements for communication. In this paper, the mechanism of rotational stage are studied. with the three different method and the results of them are applied to the design of the system. The performance test of resolution and travel is performed.

Brewster Angle Microscope를 이용한 액정 배향막 연구 (A Study of Liquid Crystal Alignment Layer Using Brewster Angle Microscope)

  • The surface morphology of liquid crystal alignment layer has been investigated by using Brewster angle microscope(BAM) for the first time. The samples used in this work for liquid crystal alignment layer were mechanically rubbed polyimide films. The rubbing pattern on this layer has been analyzed with the terms of microgroove and rubbing induced optical birefringence. For the mechanically rubbed surface, the geometrical factors of microgroove play the major role for the formation of rubbing pattern. We propose that the BAM can be used as a powerful tool not only for observing the rubbing pattern, but also for inspecting the surface defects.

Tracing the evolution of massive galaxies; Alignment of elliptical galaxies in the Virgo cluster

  • We study the alignment of kinematic position angles (PAkin) of early-type galaxies in the Virgo cluster using Atlas3D data. The PAkin represent the direction of the angular momentum of the galaxies better than the photometric position angles. Therefore, the alignment of their PA$_{kin}$ is a useful tool to trace the momentum direction. The early-type galaxies in the Virgo cluster have been known to be distributed as filamentary structures inside the cluster. We found that their PAkin are aligned to two directions of 20degree and -80degree. This fact is confirmed using the bootstrap test, and that is, the two alignment angles are statistically significant. Besides, these two angles are surprisingly aligned parallel to the filamentary structures inside the cluster. These results suggest that early-type galaxies were formed by major merging in the filament structures and then fall into the Virgo cluster while maintaining their position angles.

  • Optical performance evaluation results and an interference fringe pattern analysis of alignment errors for an optical head of a near-field receding (NFR) system are presented. The focusing unit is an optical head of a NFR system and is composed of a solid immersion lens (SIL) and an objective lens (OL). Generally, the size of the focusing unit is smaller than that of the conventional optical recording head. Hence there are difficulties to assemble the small focusing unit precisely. We composed an evaluation system with an interferometer and evaluated some focusing unit samples aligned and assembled by manual and present the obtained results. Using the conventional optical tool, Code V, a tolerance analysis of the alignment error between the SIL and the objective lens and an interference pattern analysis for the assembly error are executed. Then, through an analysis of the simulation results, the conceptual auto-alignment methodology using a neural network approach is considered.
