  • The proportion of the welding in the production process of machinery, buildings and marine structures is increasing and the joining are mainly conducted by butt and fillet weld. In the case of fillet weld, the shape of structures is complicated depending on the constraint on the geometry of the structures, therefore, the full penetration is mostly difficult. Accordingly, it is necessary to establish safe and economical criteria of design of the structures through the strength based on the penetration state of the fillet weld. Patterns of fatigue failure in cruciform fillet weld jont appear in the form of the root, toe and mixed failure. In the case of toe and mixed failure, the fatigue strength is higher than root failure. Therefore, we have to make the enough depth of penetration or perform the welding work through improving the fatigue strength of cruciform joints in welded structures. So it is necessary to optimize the penetrated depth in the range of the possible mixed failure and find the way in the cost-effective design to lessen the amount of the welding work.

  • Fetal valproate syndrome has been described as a distinctive pattern of minor anomalies of the face and digits. This pattern has not been delineated completely but appears to involve brachycephaly with a high forehead, shallow orbit, ocular hypertelorism, small nose, small mouth, low set posteriorly rotated ears, long overlapping fingers and toes, and hyperconvex fingernail. Cleft palate and congenital heart disease have occasionally been described in babies exposed to valproate during embryogenesis. We report a neonate born from an epileptic mother receiving sodium valproate during pregnancy. This neonate presented with characteristic facial abnormalities, both elbow contractures, and overlapping of right first and second toe, forth and fifth toe, and left first and second toe. This case raises the possibility that these abnormal appearances might be caused by intrauterine valproate exposure.

  • The purpose of the research is to analyze the behavioral intention to adopt social media in SMEs affected by the COVID-19 crisis, based on the TOE Model. This study uses the TOE framework as a theoretical basis. This research is important because COVID-19 has destroyed most of the SMEs, and SMEs are exposed to social media technology to market their products. The success of social media adoption has helped SMEs to be able to rise from adversity. Respondents in this study were 250 SMEs in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The data analysis technique used is structural equation modeling with AMOS. The results of this study indicate that SMEs affected by the COVID-19 crisis have a high awareness of social media and have a high intention to adopt social media as a way to market their products and connect with customers. The intention to adopt social media is significantly influenced by the technological context, organizational context, environmental context, and social media awareness. The findings of this study suggest that in times of crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government support is needed. The Government needs to open services for SMEs whose businesses are affected by the pandemic.

  • We present here a new class of activation functions for neural networks, which herein will be called CosGauss function. This function is a cosine-modulated gaussian function. In contrast to the sigmoidal-, hyperbolic tangent- and gaussian activation functions, more ridges can be obtained by the CosGauss function. It will be proven that this function can be used to aproximate polynomials and step functions. The CosGauss function was tested with a Cascade-Correlation-Network of the multilayer structure on the Tic-Tac-Toe game and iris plants problems, and results are compared with those obtained with other activation functions.

  • Fibro-osseous pseudotumor is an extremely rare benign lesion which is fast-growing and painful. It is often misdiagnosed as a malignancy, but it is a noninvasive entity and can be cured by simple resection. We report a case of fibro-osseous pseudotumor of the distal phalanx of great toe in 20-year-old female patient who present with painful mass.

  • This paper pursues a comparative study on the design and function of the ready-made Bo-Son and the Bo-Son Pattern based on teaching and learning materials. It intends to investigate whether the Bo-Son is designed to suit to Kinetics of foot or to give the ease of wearing and taking off. The following results came out through trial wearing. 1) The Bo-Son pattern suggested in teaching materials can not satisfy the wearers with partial modification due to design problem. On the other hand, the ready-made Bo-Son can satisfy them with partial modification. 2) The important factor in designing the pattern of Bo-Son is the posture of foot when putting on it, that is, the height of the heel of the foot from the floor, the length of the heel, the length of toe and the bending angle of toe. 3) As a result of this study, in the design of the improved Bo-Son pattern, it is most suitable when the size of foot is 230mm, the height of the heel of the foot is 12.5cm, and and angle of the front toe of a sock is 35$^{\circ}C$.

  • Fall accident is the most frequent accident type of occupational accidents. As the age of workers increases, trip and fall accident increases more than other types of occupational accident in the middle-aged group. In this study, the gait characteristics of 25 middle-aged participants (mean ages 47.4, S.D. 5.8) were studied to analyze the trip and fall risks. The Minimum toe clearance(MTC) against the floor surface was measured in the variable conditions of gait speed by a motion capture system. In the 50s age group, the MTC decreased and the MTC tended to reduce the variation with increasing walking speed in the level walking. Therefore, the trip and fall risks for the 50s age group is higher than the 40s age group. Especially, the faster walking speed will increase the trip and fall risks even more.

  • Forefoot disorders are often seen in clinical practice. Forefoot deformity and pain can deteriorate gait function and decrease quality of life. This review presents common forefoot disorders and conservative treatment using an insole or orthosis. Metatarsalgia is a painful foot condition affecting the metatarsal (MT) region of the foot. A MT pad, MT bar, or forefoot cushion can be used to alleviate MT pain. Hallux valgus is a deformity characterized by medial deviation of the first MT and lateral deviation of the hallux. A toe spreader, valgus splint, and bunion shield are commonly applied to patients with hallux valgus. Hallux limitus and hallux rigidus refer to painful limitations of dorsiflexion of the first metatarsophalangeal joint. A kinetic wedge foot orthosis or rocker sole can help relieve symptoms from hallux limitus or rigidus. Hammer, claw, and mallet toes are sagittal plane deformities of the lesser toes. Toe sleeve or padding can be applied over high-pressure areas in the proximal or distal interphalangeal joints or under the MT heads. An MT off-loading insole can also be used to alleviate symptoms following lesser toe deformities. Morton's neuroma is a benign neuroma of an intermetatarsal plantar nerve that leads to a painful condition affecting the MT area. The MT bar, the plantar pad, or a more cushioned insole would be useful. In addition, patients with any of the above various forefoot disorders should avoid tight-fitting or high-heeled shoes. Applying an insole or orthosis and wearing proper shoes can be beneficial for managing forefoot disorders.

  • Significant warming by anthropogenic influences over Korea is analyzed using CMIP5 projections (monthly mean, maximum and minimum temperatures) from RCP 8.5, 4.5, and 2.6 scenarios. Time of emergence (TOE) in JJA and DJF is chosen as the year when the magnitude of warming against the natural climate variability satisfies S/N>2 in 80% of the models in this study. Significant emergence in JJA is expected to appear in 2030s in three RCP scenarios, earlier than TOE in DJF. In DJF, TOE is expected to be 2040s in RCP 8.5 and is delayed in 2060s, 2080s in RCP 4.5, 2.6, respectively. Later emergence in low emission scenarios implies an importance of climate change mitigation consistent with previous studies. Maximum and minimum temperatures show similar results to the case of mean temperature. ToE is found to be affected by the amplitude of natural variability by season, variables and model spread, which requires further understanding.

  • Security Policy Model is a structured representation using informal, semiformal or formal method of security policy to be enforced by TOE. It provides TOE to get an assurance to mitigate security flaws resulted from inconsistency between security functional requirements and functional specifications. Therefore, Security Policy Model has been required under an hish evaluation assurance level on an evaluation criteria such as ISO/IEC 15408(Common Criteria, CC). In this paper, we present an evaluation method for security policy model based on assurance requirements for security policy model in Common Criteria through an analysis of concepts, related researches and assurance requirements for security policy model.
