  • Due to the bandwidth-consuming characteristics of the heavy-hitter P2P applications, it has become critical to have the capability of pinpointing and mitigating P2P traffic. Traditional port-based classification scheme is no more adequate for this purpose because of newer P2P applications, which incorporating port-hopping techniques or disguising themselves as HTTP-based Internet disk services. Alternatively, packet filtering scheme based on payload signatures suggests more practical and accurate solution for this problem. Moreover, it can be easily deployed on existing IDSes. However, it is significantly difficult to maintain up-to-date signatures of P2P applications. Hence, the automatic signature generation method is essential and will be useful for successful signature-based traffic identification. In this paper, we suggest an automatic signature generation method for Internet disk P2P applications and provide an experimental results on CNU campus network.

  • Thianthrene cation radical perchlorate reacts with N-arylsulfonamides such as p-toluenesulfonanilide, benzenesulfonanilide, N-(2-methylphenyl)benzenesulfonamide, and N-phenyl-p-toluenesulfonanilide to give 5-(p-N-p-toluenesulfonamidophenyl)-(1a), 5-(p-N-benzenesulfonamidophenyl)-(1b), 5-(4-N-benzenesulfonamido-3-methylphenyl)-(1c), and 5-(p-N-phenyl-N-p-toluenesulfonamidophenyl thianthrenium perchlorate (1d), respectively. In the meantime, 1d reacts further with thiathrene cation ratical to form diperchlorate(1e). The structure of 1a~1e is very similar to 5-(p-acetamidophenyl) thianthrenium perchlorate which has been obtained from the reaction with acetanilide. However, the discrepancy in the stoichiometry between two reactions indicates that the reaction with sulfonamide appears not to proceed with a single mechanism.

  • High content of polyunsaturated fatty acid in fish oil makes it very susceptible to oxidation, which prevent fish oil from successful application to food processing or functional foods. To resolve this problem, oxidation stability model of fish oil was developed using the following differential equation : $dp/dt=k{\cdot}p(t){\cdot}[P_{max}\;-\;p(t)]$. This differential equation can be intergrated using analytical techniques to give : $p(t)=P_{max}/[1\;+\;[(P_{max}/P_{(0)})\;-\;-1]{\cdot}EXP(-K_p{\cdot}t)]$. At 50, 60, 70 and $80^{\circ}C,\;K_p$ were 0.00535, 0.01345, 0.02516 and 0.04675, respectively. The proposed model was well agreed with the measured data except for some minor deviations. In addition, $K_p$ was expressed as a function of temperature : $K_p=(1/P_{max})EXP\;[1\;-\;(8148/T)+20.1]$. Where T is absolute temperature($^{o}K$).

  • External morphology focusing on the flower structure of Korean Platanthera was examined. The genus Tulotis was included to the genus Plathanthera as previously suggested by many workers, because the diagnostic character to distinguish the two genera was not distinct enough. It is revealed that the taxon previously recognized as P. metabifolia was the misidentification of P. chlorantha and P. neglecta should be treated as a distinct species from P. mandarinorum. In result, Korean Platanthera were rearranged into 8 species; P. chlorantha, P. mandarinorum, P. neglecta, P. hologlottis, P. japonica, P. ophrydioides, P. ussuriensis, and P. fuscescens. A key to the species of Korean Plathanthera and taxonomic discussion of each species were provided.

  • A total of 240 day-old broiler chicks were used to study the effects of phytase on performance and phosphorus (P) excretion from birds fed diets containing low phytate barleys formulated without inorganic P. A positive control based on Harrington barley (HB) was formulated to meet requirements for total P. Three experimental diets, based on either HB (0.39% total P with 0.28% phytate P) or the low phytate varieties LP 422 (0.36% total P with 0.14% phytate P) and LP 955 (0.40% total P with 0.01% phytate P), were formulated to be below requirements for total P by removing all the inorganic P from the diet. The four diets were fed with and without 1,000 FTU/kg phytase. Apparent P digestibility was significantly higher (p<0.01) for birds fed the low phytate barleys than for birds fed HB either supplemented or un-supplemented with inorganic P. P excretion was significantly lower (p<0.01) for birds fed HB without inorganic P than with inorganic P. P excretion was further reduced by the use of the low phytate barleys LP 422 and LP 455 (p<0.01). Phytase supplementation did not affect P excretion (p = 0.39). Body weight gain and feed intake were highest for birds fed the HB diet with inorganic P and lowest for birds fed the HB diet without inorganic P (p<0.01). Among the three low P diets, body weight gain and feed intake of broilers increased as the level of phytate in the barley declined (p<0.01). Phytase modestly increased body weight gain (p = 0.08) and feed intake (p = 0.04). The overall results of this study indicate that it may be possible to reduce the amount of inorganic P used when formulating diets with low phytate barley compared with the levels needed when formulating diets with normal phytate barley. However, it is not possible to completely replace the inorganic P in diets containing low phytate barley without impairing poultry performance. Feeding diets devoid of supplementary inorganic P in combination with low phytate barley resulted in a significant reduction in P excretion by poultry.

  • This research studied the relevance of oral symptoms and fear to find solutions for prevention and treatment at the right time. The study was conducted over a three-month period from September to November 2015. College students who lived in the region of Busan were surveyed, and the data from 288 respondents were analyzed. The female students felt a higher level of fear in every item than the males. To be specific, there were statistically significant differences in postponing the appointment (p=0.014), tension during treatment (p=0.001), dread when making the appointment (p=0.001), dread upon arrival (p=0.001), dread in the waiting room (p=0.001), dread of dental smells (p=0.006), dread while undergoing anesthesia (p<0.001), dread when receiving an injection (p<0.001), dread when looking at a tool for tooth preparation (p<0.001), dread of the sound of a tool for tooth preparation (p<0.001), dread of the feelings of tooth preparation (p<0.001), dread during scaling(p<0.001), and apprehension about the entire treatment (p<0.001). Concerning the fear level according to oral symptom awareness, the respondents with dental caries experienced a higher level of fear in terms of treatment avoidance (p=0.001), physiological reactions (p=0.001) and overall Dental Fear Survey (DFS)(p=0.003), and the students whose teeth were broken had a higher level of fear in terms of treatment avoidance (p=0.010), stimulus factors (p=0.031) and overall DFS (P=0.019). The students who had a missing tooth felt a higher level of fear in terms of physiological reactions (p=0.019) and overall DFS (p=0.033), and the respondents with gingival pain felt a higher level of pain in terms of the stimulus factors (p=0.013) and overall DFS (p=0.034). Therefore, college students should be educated to visit a dental clinic when they are aware of any oral symptom, and methods to reduce the stimulus factors as much as possible should be considered carefully to relieve dental fear.

  • This paper reports on a pilot scale comparison of PACS coagulation with and without pH preadjustment. The pH of the water was adjusted with carbon dioxide and sulfuric acid. Process performance was assessed on the basis of total organic carbon(TOC), UV absorbance, turbidity and disinfection by-product(DBP) precursors. Coagulation pH appeared to be a determining factor for maximum NOM removal. The optimum coagulation pH in order to decrease TOC and turbidity were pH 7. Preadjustment of pH 7 increased TOC removal to as much as 43, 47 percent with sulfuric acid and carbon dioxide. Moreover, coagulation at pH 7 caused a reduction in UV$_{254}$, THMFP and HAAFP compared to the baseline coagulation. For preadjustment of pH 7 with carbon dioxide, the percentage of TOC, UV$_{254}$, THMFP and HAAFP shows the reduction rate of 3.8, 0.5, 4.8, 9.4% comparing to the coagulation rendition using sulfuric acid. Acid addition to depress pH during coagulation decrease Langelier Saturation Index(LSI), potentially causing increase corrosion in water distribution systems. LSI for carbon dioxide and sulfuric acid at pH 6 was -2.3, -3.3. Therefore, carbon dioxide was more effective at controlling corrosion than sulfuric acid.

  • The purpose of this present study was to develop a new way of self-curing acrylic resin, using commercially available polyphosphate, Calgon, which is known to be antimicrobial and safe. For the study, polyphosphate(polyP) was blended with acrylic powder and devided into four groups as follows: no polyP(control), 1% polyP, 2% polyP, and 3% polyP. For the experiment, Streptococcus mutans GS5, Streptococcus sobrinus 6715, Streptococcus gordonii G9B and Challis, Porphyromonas gingivalis 2561, and Candida albicans ATCC 90027 were used. Resin specimens in each group were tested in vitro for the purpose of investigating the effect of polyP on the microbial attachment, growth and hydrophobicity of the resin surface. The results were as follows. 1. PolyP added to the acrylic resin decreased attachment of S. mutans GS5, S. sobrinus 6715, S. gordonii G9B. The greater binding inhibition was found in acrylic resin polymerized with polyP at higher concentrations. 2. The addition of polyP to acrylic resin failed to significantly affect the growth of the tested microorganisms. 3. The addition of polyP to acrylic resin seemed to reduce hydrophobicity of the acrylic resin. PolyP in acrylic resin does not seem to exert a direct antibacterial activity, but rather inhibit attachment of oral bacteria, especially mutans streptococci to saliva-coated acrylic resin. The acrylic resin reduces attachment of streptococci may be due to the decreased hydrophobicity caused by polyP added to the resin. PolyP may be included to acrylic resin to inhibit dental caries which often occurs when removable acrylic resin appliance is placed.

  • Numerical algorithms for solving the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations using P2P1 finite element are compared regarding the eigenvalues of matrices. P2P1 element allocates pressure at vertex nodes and velocity at both vertex and mid nodes. Therefore, compared to the P1P1 element, the number of pressure variables in the P2P1 element decreases to 1/4 in the case of two-dimensional problems and to 1/8 in the three-dimensional problems. Fully-implicit-integrated, semi-implicit- integrated and semi-segregated finite element formulations using P2P1 element are compared in terms of elapsed time, accuracy and eigenvlue distribution (condition number). For the comparison, they have been applied to the well-known benchmark problems. That is, the two-dimensional unsteady flows around a fixed circular cylinder and decaying vortex flow are adopted to check spatial accuracy.
