The state of channel between two or more wireless terminals is changed frequently due to noise or multiple environmental conditions in wireless network. In this paper, we analyze packet transmission time and queue length in a time-varying channel of packet based Wireless Networks. To reflect the feature of the time-varying channel, we model the channel as two-state Markov model and three-state Markov model Which are transformed to SFG(Signal Flow Graph) model, and then the distribution of the packet transmission can be modeled as Gaussian distribution. If the packet is arrived with Poisson distribution, then the packet transmission system is modeled as M/G/1. The average transmission time and the average queue length are analyzed in the time-varying channel, and are verified with some simulations.

In this paper, a subband filtering and adaptive prediction technique for analyzing harmonics in power systems is presented. In this method, the filter banks are designed to decompose odd and even order harmonics separately. The adaptive prediction has been employed reduce the transient and white noise effect in time varying harmonics detecting and tracking. The frequencies and amplitudes of the decomposed harmonics are estimated by recursive algorithm. To demonstrate the performances of the developed technique, computer simulations to the signal with the time-varying frequency and THD are carried out.

This paper presents a fuzzy H$\infty$ filtering problem for a class of uncertain nonlinear systems with time-varying delayed states and unknown inital state on the basis of Takagi-Sugeno(T-S) fuzzy model. The nonlinear systems are represented by T-S fuzzy models, and the fuzzy control systems utilize the concept of the so-called parallel distributed compensation. Using a single quadraic Lyapunov function, the stability and L2 gain performance from the noise signals to the estimation error are discussed. Sufficient conditions for the existence of fuzzy H$\infty$ filters are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The filtering gains can also be directly obtained from the solutions of LMIs.

This paper presents a method of hierarchical state estimation of the time-varying linear systems via Block-pulse function(BPF). When we estimate the state of the systems where noise is considered, it is very difficult to obtain the solutions because minimum error variance matrix having a form of matrix nonlinear differential equations is included in the filter gain calculation. Therefore, hierarchical approach is adapted to transpose matrix nonlinear differential equations to a sum of low order state space equation from and Block-pulse functions are used for solving each low order state space equation in the form of simple and recursive algebraic equation. We believe that presented methods are very attractive nd proper for state estimation of time-varying linear systems on account of its simplicity and computational convenience. Through Montecarlo simulation, this study compares how accurately the existing three phase deviation models estimate the time-varying variance of a planar oscillator perturbed by Gaussian noises. The comparison reveals that Kaertner model estimates the time-varying variance with about 1000 times higher accuracy than ISF or PP model exhibits. Additionally, it finds that the estimation accuracy of PP model is somewhat higher than that of ISF model.

A practical iterative channel estimation technique is proposed for the multiple-input-multiple-output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) system in the high-speed mobile environment, such as high speed railway scenario. In the iterative algorithm, the Kalman filter and data detection are jointed to estimate the time-varying channel, where the detection error is considered as part of the noise in the Kalman recursion in each iteration to reduce the effect of the detection error propagation. Moreover, the employed Kalman filter is from the canonical state space model, which does not include the parameters of the autoregressive (AR) model, so the proposed method does not need to estimate the parameters of AR model, whose accuracy affects the convergence speed. Simulation results show that the proposed method is robust to the fast time-varying channel, and it can obtain more gains compared with the available methods.

In the previous studies on railway noise analysis, the main purpose of noise analysis is concerned with the reduction of A-weighted sound pressure level in order to satisfy noise regulations. However, more important facts on noise reduction are the subjective feelings of the human being on noise because people might be annoyed from the noise caused by train. In this paper, railway noise from different type of train are compared using the calculation of sound quality metrics with using strength related method that is calculation of A-weighted sound pressure level.

Generally, noise from a indoor air conditioner has been measured by overall sound pressure level, dB. Customers evaluation, however, of the noise from an air conditioners should not be depend on the only overall level but also the sensory feeling. Moreover, in this sensory evaluation, irregular, time-varying and uneven sounds which are difficult to describe itself by overall level are more affectable. Unfortunately however the formal evaluation method for this kinds of noise is not determined yet. In this research, the evaluation method for tonal noise, which is one of the unmeasurable sounds by overall level, is proposed to evaluate its acceptability based on the consumer's sense of hearing. To consider the consumer's sense, several times of Jury evaluation are carried out. The proposed approach could be applied to the other sound, which acoustical characteristics are similar to the tonal noise .
Time-dependent period and energy of free vibration of a string, whose length varies with time at a constant rate, are investigated by a traveling wave method. When the string length is increased, the vibration period increase, but the free vibration energy decrease with time. However, when the string undergoes retraction, the vibration energy increases with time. String tension together with non-zero instantaneous velocity at the moving boundary results in energy variation. Analytical solutions by the traveling wave method are compared with previous results using the perturbation method and Kotera's approach.
Linear cyclic systems (LCS's) are a class of systems whose dynamic behavior changes periodically. Such a cyclic behavior is ubiquitous in systems with fundamentally repetitive motion. Yet, the knowledge of the noise and vibration transmission paths in LCS's is quite limited due to the time-varying nature of their dynamics. The first part of this two-part paper derives a generic expression that describes how the noise and/or vibration are transmitted between two (or multiple) points in the LCS's. In Part II, experimental validation of the theoretical development of Part I is provided. The noise and vibration transmission paths of the scroll and rotary compressors (two typical LCS's) are examined to show that the LCS's indeed generate a series of amplitude modulated input signals at the output, where the carrier frequencies are harmonic multiples of the LCS' fundamental frequency. The criterion proposed in Part I to determine how well a given LCS can be approximated as a linear time-invariant systems (LTIS) is applied to the noise and vibration transmission paths of the two compressors. Furthermore, the implications of the experimental validations/applications are discussed in order to assess the applicability of the noise/vibration source and transmission path identification techniques based on the assumption that the system under consideration is linear and time-invariant.
