Transient response analysis can be conducted either in the time domain, or via the frequency domain. Sometimes a frequency domain method (FDM) has advantages over a time domain method. A practical issue in the FDM is to find out an appropriate extended period, which may be affected by several factors, such as the excitation duration, the system damping, the artificial damping, the period of interest, etc. In this report, the extended period of the FDM based on the Duhamel's integral is investigated. This Duhamel's integral based FDM does not involve the unit impulse response function (UIRF) beyond the period of interest. Due to this fact, the ever-lasting UIRF can be simply set as zero beyond the period of interest to shorten the extended period. As a result, the preferred extended period is the summation of the period of interest and the excitation duration. This conclusion is validated by numerical examples. If the extended period is too short, then the front portion of the period of interest is more prone to errors than the rear portion, but the free vibration segment is free of the wraparound error.

This paper presents a derailed application procedure of the linear quadratic(LQ) theory for a SWATH heave and pitch control. A time domain model of coupled, linear time-invariant second order differential equations is derived from the frequency response model with the frequency dependent added mass and damping approximated as constant values at the heave natural frequency. Wave exciting forces are modeled as a sum of sinusoids. A systematic selection procedure of state and control weighting matrices is presented to obtain good transient behavior and acceptable fin movement. The validity of this controller design process is throughly investigated by simulations both in time domain and frequency domain and singular value plots of transfer function matrices. The finally designed control system shows good overall performances revealing that the applicability of the present study is proved successful.
A software-driven real-time frequency de-modulator is implemented with the aid of universal-serial-bus (USB) type software defined radio dongle. An analog stereo frequency modulation (FM) broadcast signal is down-converted to the basedband analog signal then converted to digital bit streams in the USB dongle. Computer software such as Matlab, Python, and GNU Radio manipulates the incoming bit streams with the technique of digital signal processing. Low pass filtering, band pass filtering, decimation, frequency discriminator, double sideband amplitude demodulation, phase locked loop, and deemphasis function blocks are implemented using such computer languages. Especially, GNU Radion is employed to realize the real-time demodulator.
Spline chirplet transform and local maximum synchrosqueezing are introduced to present a novel structural instantaneous frequency (IF) identification method named local maximum synchrosqueezing spline chirplet transform (LMSSSCT). Namely spline chirplet transform (SCT), a transform is firstly introduced based on classic chirplet transform and spline interpolated kernel function. Applying SCT in association with local maximum synchrosqueezing, the LMSSSCT is then proposed. The index of accuracy and Rényi entropy show that LMSSSCT outperforms the other time-frequency analysis (TFA) methods in processing analytical signals, especially in the presence of noise. Numerical examples of a Duffing nonlinear system with single degree of freedom and a two-layer shear frame structure with time-varying stiffness are used to verify the effectiveness of structural IF identification. Moreover, a nonlinear supported beam structure test is conducted and the LMSSSCT is utilized for structural IF identification. Numerical simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the presented LMSSSCT can effectively identify the IFs of nonlinear structures and time-varying structures with good accuracy and stability.
Background : Phentermine classified by "sympathomimmetic amie", is a stimulant of sympatheic tone But there has been no concrete study which presents the influence of phentermine on autonomic nervous system. Analysis of Heart rate variability is reliable, non-invasive and very useful for evaluating function of autonomic nervous system. We tried to elucidate the influence of phentermine on autonomic nervovs system by heart rate variability. MethodsAmong the 70 candidates who participated in the double-blind case control study whichwas designed in purpose of approving whether- Adipekⓓ is effective for treatment of obesity, 45persons were folled up. From April, 2005 to May 2005, HRV of the candidates who takes phentermine or placebo for 1month, was recorded using BFM-5000ⓓ(medi-core) for 5 minutes in resting state. HRV measures were assessed by time-domain and by frequency- domain analysis. Time domain parameters contain SDNN(Standard Deviation of NN intervals) and RMSSD(Root-Mean-Square of Successive Differences), etc and frequency domain Parameters contain Total Power(TP), Low frequency(LF'0.04-0.15Hz) power. High Frequency(HF:0.15-0.4Hz) power and LF/HF ratio etc. Results: Intakes of phentermine reduce HRV significant1y. SDNN & RMSSD, the main tine domain parameters of HRV, were decreased significantly(P=0.007. 0.016). PSI(Physical Stress Index of Pressure Index) was increase significantly(P=0.002)The main frequency domain parameters(TP, LF & VLF), also decreased significantly. (P=0.024,0.033, 0.015)Conclusion: The result showed that intakes of phentermine reduce heart rate variability and influence on most parameters of HRV. So phentermine not only accelerates sympathetic tone, but also inhibit the balance and function of autonomic nervous system.

Frequency occupancy data can provide information on both the actual ratio of usage of individual frequency channels and the average ratio of usage of these frequency bands so that the reserved capacity of the spectrum can be estimated. Such an estimate can be used for the planning of additional spectrum allocations and as a means of assessing the impact of new technologies on spectrum usage. In this paper, we introduce about the frequency occu- pancy measurement system that is developed in Korea. And, we introduce Frequency Occupancy Ratio with a time period and with a area zone by using radio monitoing measurement datas.

This paper presents a novel signal tracking algorithm for GNSS receivers using a MLE technique. In order to perform a robust signal tracking in severe signal environments, e.g., high dynamics for navigation vehicles or weak signals for indoor positioning, the MLE based signal tracking approach is adopted in the paper. With assuming white Gaussian additive noise, the cost function of MLE is expanded to the cost function of NLSE. Efficient and practical approach for Doppler frequency tracking by the MLE is derived based on the assumption of code-free signals, i.e., the cost function of the MLE for carrier Doppler tracking is used to derive a discriminator function to create error signals from incoming and reference signals. The use of the MLE method for carrier tracking makes it possible to generalize the MLE equation for arbitrary codes and modulation schemes. This is ideally suited for various GNSS signals with same structure of tracking module. This paper proposes two different types of MLE based tracking method, i.e., an iterative batch processing method and a non-iterative feed-forward processing method. The first method is derived without any limitation on time consumption, while the second method is proposed for a time limited case by using a 1st derivative of cost function, which is proportional to error signal from discriminators of conventional tracking methods. The second method can be implemented by a block diagram approach for tracking carrier phase, Doppler frequency and code phase with assuming no correlation of signal parameters. Finally, a state space form of FLL/PLL/DLL is adopted to the designed MLE based tracking algorithm for reducing noise on the estimated signal parameters.

The identification of damping ratios in buildings is a well-known problem and appears to be of important and crucial interest in the safety and serviceability design. When compared to an estimation of the stiffness, i.e. natural frequency, and mass, the damping ratio is the most difficult quantity to determine. Many previous studies have examined the characteristics of damping ratios from ambient vibration, but the measurement time is roughly within 2 hours. In this paper, characteristics of damping ratios and natural frequencies of 4 story RC building were investigated using long-term ambient vibration. Free vibrations were obtained using random decrement technique, and damping ratios were evaluated by the envelop function, continuous wavelet transform, and logarithmic decrement. It was found that although the natural frequencies show little variations with time, the damping ratios show some variations with time and the largest variations found in the damping ratios obtained from the continuous wavelet transform. The damping ratios from the envelop function showed the smallest mean and standard deviation. And the probability distribution of damping ratios seems to follow the logarithmic normal distribution.
When passband ripple α/sub p/ and stopband attenuation α/sub s/ at the w/sub s/ where the stopband begins are specified in filter design, △α/sub s/ usually exceeds the specification by △α/sub s/ due to the necessity that the order n of the filter function be an integer. In this paper, we apply a trade-off method to remove the excess stopband attenuation △α/sub s/ for reducing the value of pole-Q and improving the characteristics of the Chebyshev filter function. We also apply the trade-off method of pole-Q reduction to the modified Chebyshev function, and then the 4 types of function have been analyzed to compare in frequency and time domain characteristics. The trade-off method reduces the pole-Q which influences the filter characteristics to maximum 49.6% without increase of the order n. Thus implies that they have the improved characteristics such as the reduced passband ripple and flatter delay characteristics as compared Chebyshev filter function before trade-off. And the unit step response shows shorter delay time and settling time in time domain performance.
This paper presents an analysis of the chaotic behavior in the discrete-time chaotic generator fabricated by CMOS technology. An approximated empirical equation is extracted from the measurement data of a nonlinear function block. Then the bifurcation diagram and Lyapunov exponent and time waveforms and frequency responses of the chaotic generator are calculated and simulated. And results of experiments in the chaotic circuit with the $\pm$2.5V power supply and clock rate of 10KHz are shown, and analysed.
