  • When a typoon sets into harbour, a moored ship shows erratic motions and even mooring line failure may occur. such troubles may be caused by harbour resonance phenomena, resulting in large motion amplitudes at low frequency, which is close ti the natural frequency of th moored ship. The nonlinear motions of a ship moored to quay are simulated under external forces due to wave, current including mooring forces in time domain. The forces due to waves are obtained from source and dipole distribution method in the frequency domain. The current forces are calculated by using slow motion maneuvering equation in the horizontal plane. The wind forces are calculated from the empirical formula of ABS and the mooring forces of ropes and fenders are modeled as linear spring.

  • This paper presents a 3-D finite difference time domain (FDTD) method used for indoor propagation simulations where the electromagnetic wav eis uniformly excited on th eone of the wall in a building and affected by an indoor obstacles. In cases of simulation and measurement, the frequency of 851 MHz is used. The conductivities of walls, floor, ceiling and indoor obstacles are measured and used for simulations. These simulations are carried out using different boundary condition such as mur's absorbing boundary condition (ABC) and perfectly matched layer (PML) technique. The PML technique is found to be well-suited to this analysis because of it's smaller computational domain than mur's ABC. The measured signal strengths are compared to simulated values with good agreement.

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the field distribution and the current distribution of leaky coaxial cable with the finite difference-tiem domain(FDTD) algorithm. finite difference equations of maxwell's equations are defined in cylindrical coordinate systems. To simulate the unbounded problem like a free space, the Mur's absorbing boundary conditon is also used. After modeling the leaky coaxial cable with the three dimensional grid structure, the transient resoponse of th efield distribution and the current distribution are depicted in the time domain.

  • There has been increasing of using Internet as time goes by, and it means that the analysis technique of appetence for the users logging into the internet system has been absolutely advanced. Keeping pace with the intense expansion of information, the mailing system is the one to be very busy on Internet service at the present time. This paper introduces to support users that carry handling account management easier by using virtual domain control on mail server. It also finds out the merit to get more efficient way to control the bunch of mails that classify into mail-box to users in advance.

  • In this paper, the efficient channel estimationschemes for DRM system(AM band digital radio broadcasting standard) are investigated. In frequency domain, by means of the linear interpolation, the second order interpolation, cubic spline interpolation, and time domain interpolation, the channel impulse response is estimated respectively to compensate the attenuation due to the fading. And in time domain, the frequency channel impulse response is averaged to reduce the attenuation due to the AWGN. By the simulation, the performance of MSE, BER and the complexity of calculation is compared and analysized for each interpolation scheme.

  • In the speech analysis, to estimate formant center frequencies exactly is very important. If we know formant frequencies, we can expect which pronunciation is uttered. Generally, the magnitude of first formant frequency in voiced speech is 10dB more than other formant frequency. So, the shape of voice signal in time domain is affected by mainly first formant. Therefore we can get first formant frequency roughly by using ZCR(Zero Cross Rate). In this paper, we proposed the improvement method to get first formant frequency by using ZCR. We did autocorrelation before getting ZCR. This procedure makes voice signal smooth so, first formant in voice signal is emphasized. As a result of this method, we got more exact ZCR and first formant frequency. Conventional method of formant estimate is done in frequency domain but proposed method is done in time domain. So, this is very simple.

  • The resonant frequency, reflection cofficient and input impedance of a microstrip transverse dipole coupled electromagnetically are calculated using Finite Difference Time Domain(FDTD) method, and the evolution of gaussian pulse and spatial distribution of electromagnetic field components in the computation domain is represented graphically. Also, we confirmed the computation results show good agreement with the results of Method of Moment(MOM) and experiment[8] reported in the literature.

  • The second-order motion characteristics of a semi-submersible are investigated in regular waves. A higher-order boundary element method in a frequency domain and a finite element method in a time-domain were applied to the numerical analysis of the nonlinear hydrodynamic force and motion characteristics of semi-submersibles in view point of potential flow. Various aspects of nonlinear effects on the heave and roll of a semi-submersible were numerically investigated and some selected cases were compared with the model test data.

  • In this paper, a new time-domain reduction method for unbalanced 3 phase power systems will be represented. The impulse response of the system is used to identify a discrete-time equivalent filter model. The model is formulated directly in the phase domain. Each phase has a self-mode equivalent model and two mutual-mode equivalent models. The equivalent model is determined by the transfer function identification technique based on the Prony analysis. The model is implemented in EMTDC and tested with an unbalanced 3 phase network. The result of test showed that the equivalent model is accurate.

  • For stator winding protection of AC generator, KCL(Kirchhoff's Current Law) is widely applied. Actually a CRDR(Current Ratio Differential Relay) based on DFT(Discrete Fourier Transform) has been used for protecting generator. It has been pointed out that defects can occur during the process of transforming a time domain signal into a frequency domain one which can lead to loss of time domain information. Wavelets techniques are proposed for the analysis of power system transients. This paper introduces an algorithm to choose a suitable Mother Wave1et for generator stator fault detection. For optimal selection, we analyzed db(Daubechies), sym(Symlets), and coif(Coiflects) of Mother Wavelet. And we compared with performance of the choice algorithm using detail coefficients energy and RMS(root mean square) error. It can be improved the reliability of the conventional DFT based CRDR. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed scheme is proved with simulation using collected data obtained from ATP (Alternative Transient Program) package.
