  • 공기비용 트레이드오프 모델은 건설프로젝트의 계획 및 관리에 있어 매우 중요하다. TCTO 모델은 연속모델과 분절모델 두 가지 모델이 개발되어왔다. 그러나 한 종류의 모델만을 사용하여 현실적인 공기단축 시나리오를 적용하기에는 한계가 있다. 이에 TCTO 의 연속적인 모델과, 분절모델을 결합하여 진보된 모델을 제시하였으며 또한, 비선형 관계, 인센티브 및 지체보상금 고려가 가능하도록 TCTO모델에 포함되어 있다. 이런 특성들은 건설프로젝트에 적용가능하다. 6개의 activities로 구성된 CPM 네트워크는 연구에서 제안된 모델을 설명하기 위해 사용되었다. 제시한 모델은 모든 제약 조건을 만족시키는 최적 스케쥴 계산이 가능하다. 결과적으로 본 연구에서 제시한 진보된 TCTO모델은 기존의 모델보다 최적화된 공기단축이 가능하다.

프로젝트 일정에서 선행활동 품질이 후행활동의 시간과 비용에 미치는 문제 - 자원제약이 존재하는 프로젝트 일정문제 - (The Problem of the Quality of the Predecessor Activity on the Time and Cost of the Successor Activity in the Project Schedule - Project Schedule with Resource Constraints -)

  • Purpose: The time and cost of a project activity exists in a selected mode and there is a quality level for the selected mode, and the time and cost of the current activity is determined by the quality level of the preceding activity. When an activity is a predecessor activity of an activity, it is characterized as a trade-off problem in which the time and cost of the activity are determined according to the quality level of the activity. Methods: A neighbor search heuristic algorithm obtains a solution by (1) randomly determining the mode, quality level, and assignment order for each activity. (2) get a solution by improving the solution by changing the possible modes and quality levels; (3) to find a solution by improving the solution from the point where it is feasible to advance the start time. Here, Case[1] is a method to find the optimal solution value after repeating (1). Case [2] is a method for finding a solution including (1) and (2). Case [3] refers to a method for finding solutions including (1), (2), and (3). Results: It can be seen that the value of the objective function presented by the algorithm changes depending on how the model of the heuristic algorithm is designed and applied. In other words, it suggests the importance of algorithm design and proves the importance of the quality problem of activities in the project schedule. Conclusion: A study significance of the optimization algorithm and the heuristic algorithm was applied to the effect of the quality of the preceding activity on the duration and cost of itself and the succeeding activity, which was not addressed in the project schedule problem.

에너지효율을 고려한 모델예측제어에 기초한 열펌프의 실내온도 제어 (Indoor Temperature Control of a Heat Pump Based on Model Predictive Control Considering Energy Efficiency)

  • In indoor temperature control of a heat pump, a reduction in energy consumption is very important. However, most control schemes for heat pumps have focused only on control performance such s settling time and steady-state error. In this paper, the model predictive control (MPC) which includes the energy-related variable in this cost function is proposed. By computing the control signal minimizing this cost function, the trade-off between energy reduction and temperature control performance can be obtained. Since the MPC required the process model, the dynamic mode of a heat pump is also obtained by the system identification technique. Performance of the proposed MPC considering energy efficiency is compared with the two other control schemes. It si shown that the proposed scheme can consume less energy thant hte others in achieving similar control performance.

  • In this paper, we present a distributed algorithm for detecting dynamic event regions in wireless sensor network with the consideration on energy saving. Our model is that the sensing field is monitored by a large number of randomly distributed sensors with low-power battery and limited functionality, and that the event region is dynamic with motion or changing the shape. At any time that the event happens, we need some sensors awake to detect it and to wake up its k-hop neighbors to detect further events. Scheduling for the network to save the total power-cost or to maximize the monitoring time has been studied extensively. Our scheme is that some predetermined sensors, called critical sensors are awake all the time and when the event is detected by a critical sensor the sensor broadcasts to the neighbors to check their sensing area. Then the neighbors check their area and decide whether they wake up or remain in sleeping mode with certain criteria. Our algorithm uses only 2 bit of information in communication between sensors, thus the total communication cost is low, and the speed of detecting all event region is high. We adapt two kinds of measure for the wake-up decision. With suitable threshold values, our algorithm can be applied for many applications and for the trade-off between energy saving and the efficiency of event detection.

퍼지 논리를 이용한 슬라이딩 모드 제어기의 인자 자동 튜닝

  • Sliding mode control guarantees robustness in the presence of modeling uncertainties and external disturbances. However, this can be obtained at the cost of high control activity that may lead to chattering As one way to alleviate this problem a boundary layer around sliding surface is typically used. In this case the selection of controller gain, control ban width and boundary layer thickness is a crucial problem for the trade-off between tracking error and chattering. The parameter tuning is usually done by trail-and-error in practice causing significant effort and time. An auto tuning method based on fuzzy rules is proposed in the paper in this method tracking error and chattering are monitored by performance indices and the controller tunes the design parameters intelligently in order to compromise both indices. To demonstrate the efficiency of the propose method a mass-spring translation system and a roboic control system are simulated and tested It is shown that the proposed algorithm is effective to facilitae the parameter tuning for sliding mode controllers.

Edge-Based Fast Intra Mode Decision in HEVC

  • High efficiency video coding (HEVC) appears due to the demand on high compression video coding beyond H.264/AVC in ultra-high definition (UHD) videos. As for intra prediction, HEVC has 35 prediction modes while H.264/AVC has 9 intra modes. To exploit the spatial correlation, we adopt an edge detection method, establish the edge map, and adaptively select the candidate modes using the acquired edge information in a block. The number of the candidate modes is determined through trade-off between computational complexity and coding efficiency. Besides, the range of coding unit sizes is determined using the uniqueness of the edge directions for the given image block. As a result, we reduced the encoding time by 56.8% at the cost of 2.5% BD-BR increase on average compared to Full modes at the HEVC reference software (HM 6.0 [1]).

  • The paper presents the modeling and optimal control for the reduction of transverse vibration of simply supported beam under a moving mass. The equations of motion are derived by using assumed mode method. The coriolis and centripetal accelerations are accommodated in the equations of motion to account for the dynamic effect of the traveling mass. In order to reduce the transverse vibration of the beam, an optimal controller with full state feedback is designed based on the linearized equations of motion. The optimal actuator locations are determined with the evaluation of an optimal cost functional defined by the worst initial condition with the trade-off of controlled mode performance. Numerical simulations are performed with respect to various velocities and different traveling masses. Even if the velocity of the traveling mass reaches to the critical speed which can cause the resonance of the beam, the controller with two piezoelectric actuators shows the excellent performance under severe time-varying disturbances of the system.
