In this paper, we consider the design problem of delay-dependent robust $H{\infty}$ controller of discrete-time descriptor systems with parameter uncertainties and interval time-varying delays in state and control input by delay-dependent LMI (linear matrix inequality) technique. A new delay-dependent bounded real lemma for discrete-time descriptor systems with time-varying delays is derived. The condition for the existence of robust $H{\infty}$ controller and the robust $H{\infty}$ state feedback control law are proposed by LMI approach. A numerical example is demonstrated to show the validity of the design method.
This paper focuses on congestion control for ATM network with uncertain time-variant delays. The time-variant delays can be distinguished into two distinct components. The first one that is represented by time-variant queueing delays in the intermediate switches is occurred in the return paths of RM cells. The next one is a forward path delay. It is solved by the VBR Model which quantifies the data propagation from the sources to the switch. Robust $H_{\infty}$ control is studied for solving congestion problem with norm-bounded time-varying uncertain parameters. The suitable robust $H_{\infty}$ controller is obtained from the solution of a convex optimization problem including terms of LMIs.

Construction delays are a common occurrence of most construction projects and difficult to analyze. there are some techniques to analyze delays, such as using CPM, Bar Chart but they are not enough to analyze concurrent and productivity lost delays. Productivity lost delays are different to interruption delays in computing the number of delays and analyzing concurrent delay. This paper describes the delay analysis method considering productivity including concurrent delay analysis.
Detecting lensed quasar systems and estimating their time delays using the unresolved joint light curves can be the next frontier among the cosmological probes in the near future. One can get the independent measurement of the Hubble constant from the time delays but without requiring the systems to be resolved a priori followed by monitoring the image light curves using high-resolution telescopes for years. In this work, we propose a novel technique that can identify lensed quasars only using the observed unresolved light curves and without assuming a template or any prior information. Following a set of conservative selection criteria that gives zero false-positive outcome, we can accurately estimate the time delay for almost all the lensed systems with marginal noise in the data. For the case of noisy data, our approach can still correctly identify a substantial number of lensed systems with high certainty and measure the time delay accurately.

In digital controller design, the delays in the controller should be taken into consideration when the computation time of the processor is not negligibale compared with sampling time. Recently, Mita has proposed a digital optimal servosystem taking account of the delays in the controller. In this paper, robust stability and diturbance rejection properties of this optimal servosystej are analyzed in the frequency-domain. The well-known asymptotic properties of the optimal regulators with respect to the weighting matrices of the cost functions are successfully utilized to show that the influence of the delays in the controller are drastic for certain choice of the cost function Illustrative numerical examples are presented.
The short time scale X-ray variability associated with the accretion disk around compact objects is complex and is vaguely understood. The study of the cross correlation function gives an insight into the energy dependent behavior of the variations and hence connected processes. Using high resolution RXTE data, we investigate the dynamical cross correlation function of an observation of a black hole source XTE J1550-564 in the steep power law state. The cross correlation between soft and hard X- ray energy bands revealed both correlated and anti-correlated delays (${\leq}{\pm}15s$) on a correlation time scale of 50 s. It was noticed that the observed delays were similar to the delays between X-ray and optical/IR bands in other black hole and neutron star sources. We discuss the possible mechanisms/processes to explain the observed delays in the dynamical CCF.
In this paper, we study the global stability of two mathematical models for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection with intra-cellular delays. The first model is a 5-dimensional nonlinear delay ODEs that describes the interaction of the HIV with two classes of target cells, $CD4^+$ T cells and macrophages taking into account the saturation infection rate. The second model generalizes the first one by assuming that the infection rate is given by Beddington-DeAngelis functional response. Two time delays are used to describe the time periods between viral entry the two classes of target cells and the production of new virus particles. Lyapunov functionals are constructed and LaSalle-type theorem for delay differential equation is used to establish the global asymptotic stability of the uninfected and infected steady states of the HIV infection models. We have proven that if the basic reproduction number $R_0$ is less than unity, then the uninfected steady state is globally asymptotically stable, and if the infected steady state exists, then it is globally asymptotically stable for all time delays.

This study analyzes critical factors that affect issues of resolving time in BIM-based coordination using a case study. According to recent buildings that are meant to be more complex, BIM-based design coordination is regarded as an essential stage of the project delivery process. In the design coordination phase, a relocation of architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical elements is conducted to avoid interference. In addition, the procedure of the development of each element in detail for the actual construction is carried out. Delays in coordination can affect delays in the entire delivery schedule of the project, and therefore many researches have focused on efficient coordination methods and how to shorten the period. In this study, we conducted a detailed analysis of the issue-resolving process using a case study, and found out that the participation of decision-makers for issue-resolving and the physical combination of trades affect delays in coordination time. In particular, we proposed the concept of organizational relation, indicating the level of decision-makers for issue-resolving, and the concept of physical relation, indicating the physical complexity of the issue, and we analyzed the effects of coordination delays.
A decentralised computational procedure is proposed for the optimal feedback gain matrix of large-scale discrete-time systems with time-delays. The constant feedback gain matrix is computed from the optimal state and input trajectries obtained hierarchically by the interaction prediction method. All the calculation in this approach are done off-line. The resulting gains are optimal for all the initial conditions. The interaction prediction method is applied to time-delay large-scale systems with general structures by extending the dimensions of coupling matices. A numerical exampie illustrates the algorithm.

In this paper, we deal with the problem of delay-dependent robust and non-fragile stabilization for descriptor systems with parameter uncertainties and time-varying delays on the basis of strict LMI(linear matrix inequality) technique. Also, the considering controller is composed of multiplicative uncertainty. The delay-dependent robust and non-fragile stability criterion without semi-definite condition and decomposition of system matrices is obtained. Based on the criterion, the problem is solved via state feedback controller, which guarantees that the resultant closed-loop system is regular, impulse free and stable in spite of all admissible parameter uncertainties, time-varying delays, and controller fragility. Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
