A Simplified PBM and Application to the Loss Analysis of a Dielectric Optical Waveguide

  • W have developed the simplified formalism of PSBM in order to save calculation time and to increase the accuracy. Using this new formalism of PBM, we have evaluated the loss of the three kinds of waveguide; bent, Y-branch, and cascaded Y-branches. It takes nearly half of the conventional PBM calculation time, even in spite of increasing of he calculation accuracy. This simplified formalism of PBM would be used efficiently in analysis of complicated three dimensional dielectric optical waveguide.

  • In order to design a reliable machine component efficiently, it is necessary to set up the process of durability analysis using computer simulation technique. In this paper, two methods for dynamic stress calculation, which are basis of durability analysis, are reviewed. Then, a user-oriented dynamic stress analysis program is developed from these two algorithms together with a general-purpose flexible body dynamic analysis and structural analysis programs. Finally, a slider-crank mechanism which has a flexible connecting-rod is chosen to show the special characteristics of these two dynamic stress calculation methods.

  • Hybrid fuzzy gain scheduling controller is composed of a PD control and a fuzzy control for taking the advantage of each scheme. The key structure of the hybrid fuzzy gain scheduling control scheme is so called a switch which calculates weighting values between the fuzzy controller and the PD controller. However, due to the requirement of the switch , the hybrid fuzzy gain scheduling control scheme needs extra fuzzy logic processing, thus the structure is complicated. and requires more calculation time. To eliminate the drawbacks, a new hybrid fuzzy gain scheduling control scheme is proposed in this paper. In the proposed scheme, the membership function, for calculating of weithting value, and the input and output membership functions are combined. Thus the proposed hybrid scheme does not require switch for calculation of weighting value, and as a result, the calculation time is faster and the structure is more simple than the existing hybrid controller. Computer simulation results for an inverted pendulum model under Pole-Placement PID controller, fuzzy gain scheduling controller,existing hybrid controller , and proposed hybrid controller are compared to demonstrate the good property of the proposed hybrid controller.

  • The real time modeling of dynamic system on adaptive control system is very important for flying control system(FCS). Using traditional method, it is required much calculation load for integral/differential at control system. Therefore, It is very important theme of study in these days to find algorithms for integration/differential at FCS. These algorithms for integral/differential influence strongly stability/reliability to control flying object. In this paper, we present optimal predictive sampling time for reduce calculation load at FCS and optimal predictive time on general cost function by applying adaptive control method.

조경 공사 내역서 계산 자동화를 위한 소프트웨어 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Software Development to Automate the Calculation for the Landscape Architecture Construction Cost Estimation.)

  • The landscape architecture construction cost estimation includes the repeated calculation and updating. Thus, it is time-consuming, and one of the jobs which needs to be automated first. In Korea, the IBM compatible personal computer(PC) is the most widely used one in the landscape architecture firms. However, the software for landscape architecture construction cost estimation is not being used in the PC environment. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to develop the software which can be used to automate the calculation for the landscape architecture construction cost estimation, and runs in the IBM compatible personal computers(PC). The clipper '88 summer is one of the DBMS software packages, and it has many commands and functions and functions which reduces program lines and makes the programing efficient, especially in the programing work whose total source code lines do not exceed over 10,000 lines. So, it was used in this study. The software developed in the this study was tested using the real data, and it was found that it can be efficiently used in the following jobs. They are: (1) to calculate exactly and rapidly. (2) to use resources repeatedly. (3) to print out the results. (4) to store data files for the future use. The software, as discussed in this paper, reduces the time and efforts to be spent in the calculation for the landscape architecture construction cost estimation compared with the traditional approach using the pocket calculator.

광선로 전파방정식 계산을 위한 SSF 알고리즘 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the SSF algorithm improvement for the optical propagation simulation)

  • SSF 알고리즘의 고정된 구간을 개선하여 자동으로 구간을 선택함으로 계산시간을 줄인 Auto Z-step과, SSF 알고리즘에 사용되는 FFT 방법의 표본값을 자동적으로 줄여서 계산시간을 감소시킨 Auto T-step 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 2.5Gbps 100km 전송시 이 두 알고리즘을 사용한 것은 기존의 1km fixed step 알고리즘보다 1/120의 계산시간이 줄었고, 10Gbps 40km 전송시 최대 1/56으로 줄었으며, 오차는 모두-30㏈ 이하였다. eye diagram으로 kkm fixed step 알고리즘과 비교할 때 오차가 무시될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

  • This paper is the first of two companion papers concerning the analysis and design of a pneumatic vibration isolation system. The design optimization of the pneumatic vibration isolation system is required for the reduction of cost, endeavor and time, and it needs modeling and calculation algorithm. The nonlinear models are devised from the fluid mechanical expression for components of the system and the calculation algorithm is derived from the mathematical relationship between the models. It is shown that the orifice makes the nonlinear property of the transmissibility curve that the resonant frequency changes by the amplitude of excited vibration. Linearization of the nonlinear models is tried to reduce elapsed time and truncation error accumulation and to enable the transmissibility calculation of the system with multi damping chambers. The equivalent mechanical models generated by linearization clarify the function of each component of the system and lead to the linearized transfer function that can give forth to the transmissibility exactly close to that of nonlinear models. The modified successive under-relaxation method is developed to calculate the linearized transfer function.

  • 본 연구에서는 Denton이 제시한 개선된 시간진행법을 이용하여 2차원 직선 정 지 익렬의 유동해석 프로그램의 개발을 목적으로 하고 있으며 기존 프로그램의 안정성 과 수렴의 개선에 역점을 두고 진행하였다. 수치계산 결과는 타당성을 입증하기 위 하여 실험결과 및 Braembussche의 특이점법 수치계산 결과와 비교 검토 하였으며 충격 파가 존재하는 천이음속의 유동에 대하여 수치계산을 실시하였다.

Approximation Equation for Broad Bandwidth Antenna Design Using CMMS

  • This paper proposes an approximate equation for broad bandwidth conditions in an antenna feeding probe design with a cylindrical magneto material structure (CMMS). The bandwidth calculation has been conducted according to the relation between the distance ($r_m$) between the magneto material and feeding probe, and the magneto material thickness ($t_m$) for a given ${\mu}_r$. The bandwidth of a proposed antenna with CMM feeding structure is improved about 182 %, when ${\mu}_r=20+j0.001$, in comparison with the bandwidth of an antenna without CMMS. The maximum error extent between the bandwidth calculated by the approximation equation and by the numerical calculation of the proposed antenna is about $\pm$3.2 % for ${\mu}_r=10+j0.001$. The approximation equation proposed in this study can solve the conventional problem of the complex process and the long time required for reiterative calculation, and allow simple and precise design with prediction. The accuracy of an approximated equation is compared with the results calculated by a commercial tool and verified by reasonable agreement between them.

폭발하중에 대한 지하공동구조체의 3차원 공적 유한요소해석 (Three-Dimensional Dynamic Analysis of Underground Openings Subjected to Explosive Loadings)

  • 본 연구에서는 발파로 인한 폭발하중에 대한 지하공동구조체의 3차원 동적유한요소해석을 수행하였다. 해석과정은 1차원 근원해석과정과 3차원터널해석과정의 2단계로 나누어 수행하였다. 1차원 근원해석에서는 장약공과 그 주변의 자유장을 포함하는 해석으로서 3차원 터널해석을 위한 입력하중의 계산작업을 수행한다. 본 연구에서 수행한 해석방법의 기능은 3차원 동적해석프로그램 MPDAP-3D에 추가되었으며, 향후 발파공법에 의한 지하공동구조체의 건설시 구조체의 안전성을 평가하는데 활용가능할 것으로 예상된다.
