Evaluation of reaction site prediction in 3-ring PAHs according to calculation level

  • The radical reaction position was calculated by varying the calculation level for ACEL and ANT, which are detected with the highest frequency and concentration in PAHs pollution sites. The results of each calculation level were compared and evaluated with the existing literature. HF, B3LYP, B3LYP-D, and MP2 were used as the method for each level used for calculation. Except for HF, the MK charge by B3LYP, B3LYP-D, and MP2 was consistent with the experimental results. It was found that the dispersion effect was negligible in the calculation of ACEL and ANT because the calculation results by the B3LYP and B3LYP-D methods were the same. In particular, it was found that the MK charge calculation result by MP2 agrees well with the product/PAH ratio obtained as a result of the experiment. Considering the calculation cost, it would be preferable to use B3LYP to predict the radical reaction site of ACEL and ANT. However, considering the product/PAH ratio, it takes more time to calculate, but it is judged that it is better to use the MP2.

An Analytic Calculation Method for Delay Time of RC-class Interconnects (RC-class 회로 연결선의 지연 시간 계산을 위한 해석적 기법)

  • This paper presents an analytic 3rd order calculation methods, without simulations, for delay time of RC-class circuits which are conveniently used to on-chip interconnects. While the proposed method requires comparable evaluation time than the previous 2nd order calculation method, it ensures more accurate results than those of 2nd order method. The proposed analytic delay calculation method guarantees allowable error tolerances when compared to the results obtained from the AWE (Asymptotic Waveform Evaluation) technique and has better performance in evaluation time as well as numerical stability. The first algorithm of the proposed method requires 8 moments for the 3rd order approximation and yields more accurate delay time approximation. The second algorithm requires 6 moments for the 3rd order approximation and results in shorter evaluation time, the accuracy of which may be less than the first algorithm.

  • This study is the empirical research about application and evaluation of AVI that is an essential technology for calculating and providing the travel time. Travel time calculation and provision is one of the technique for information collecting and providing in the ITS. Through the field test on a national highway, we proposed the travel time calculation technique from the data by non-contact vehicle detecting method and validated field application performance with field data. We proposed the technique of evaluating field application performance, then using this, analyzed recognition rate, detection rate and travel time with field data.

  • Calculation of the flexural rigidity value (EI) is indispensable for prescription of deflection characteristics of crop stalks in harvesting□Conventionally□EI has been determined by either average EI of the whole stalk or average EI of each stems divided into node through the calculation method of cantilever with homogeneous section□However□deflection characteristics of crop stalks caused by mechanical operation such as combine harvester were not exactly presumed by these conventional EI through the experiment by authors. Further, actual EI of a stalk changes in company with a change of moisture contents as time passes during the experiment. Finally, efficient calculation method for determining EI is needed in order to improve these problems. In this study, mechanical model based on actual structure of the crop stalk with variety sectional area was proposed. This mechanical model is calculated by the theory of cantilever with continuous stages. Therefore, improvement of both calculating accuracy on EI and efficiency of measuring system was tried. At first, this calculation method was applied to piano wire of which EI was recognized in advance. As a result, EI calculated from this new method coincided approximately with piano wire's EI. Next, applying to crop stalks as same as piano wire, relationship between loads acting on crop stalks and deflection values calculated by EI using this new calculation method was exactly presumed in comparison with conventional method. Further, measuring time of deflection test was greatly reduced. Finally, new calculation method of EI will be available for estimating mechanical characteristics of so many kinds of crop stalks in harvesting operation. Further, in this study, new deflection test using image-processing apparatus by computer will be introduced.

  • In this paper, we present a machining time estimation algorithm for 5-axis high-speed machining. Estimation of machining time plays an important role in process planning and production scheduling of a shop. In contrast to the rapid evolution of machine tools and controllers, machining time calculation is still based on simple algorithms of tool path length divided by input feedrates of NC data, with some additional factors from experience. We propose an algorithm based on 5-axis machine behavior in order to predict machining time more exactly. For this purpose, we first investigated the operational characteristics of 5-axis machines. Then, we defined some dominant factors, including feed angle that is an independent variable for machining speed. With these factors, we have developed a machining time calculation algorithm that has a good accuracy not only in 3-axis machining, but also in 5-axis high-speed machining.

  • There is little research on actual business activities in the field of security control. Therefore, in this paper, we intend to present a practical research methodology that can contribute to the calculation of the size of the appropriate input personnel through the modeling of the threat information detection response time of the security control and to analyze the effectiveness of the latest security solutions. The total threat information detection response time performed by the security control center is defined as TIDRT (Total Intelligence Detection & Response Time). The total threat information detection response time (TIDRT) is composed of the sum of the internal intelligence detection & response time (IIDRT) and the external intelligence detection & response time (EIDRT). The internal threat information detection response time (IIDRT) can be calculated as the sum of the five steps required. The ultimate goal of this study is to model the major business activities of the security control center with an equation to calculate the cyber threat information detection response time calculation formula of the security control center. In Chapter 2, previous studies are examined, and in Chapter 3, the calculation formula of the total threat information detection response time is modeled. Chapter 4 concludes with a conclusion.

  • The PMGS(Plant Model Generating System) was developed based on modular modeling method and fluid network calculation concept. Fluid network calculation is used as a method of real-time computation of fluid network, and the module which has a topology with node and branch is defined to take advantages of modular modeling. Also, the database which have a shared memory as an instance is designed to manage simulation data in real-time. The applicability of the PMGS was examined implementing the HRSG(Heat Recovery Steam Generator) control logic on DCS.

  • This paper presents the new algorithm for fault analysis and the fault analysis package for executing this algorithm. This algorithm obtains requisite term for fault analysis by the two-port network technique. Therefore, the fault calculation time is minimized because ${Y_{BUS}}^{-1}$ calculation time is removed. And, the graphic user environment for fault analysis is implemented in mouse-oriented user interface with window and pull-down menu. Therefore, this package can be a useful tool for fault analysis.

  • Recently a study of Virtual-Reality becomes active. Expectation to 3-D reproduction technology rises with it. Electro-holography using Spatial light modulator (SLM) attracts attention, because natural 3-D animated image is provided. In this paper recent development of 3D-TV by Electro-holography is reported. We consider the conditions to holographic TV such as input, transmission and display systems. Also we consider about fast hologram calculation because It is important to execute hologram calculation at high speed to realize the real time electro-holography. Then we consider the possibility of real time holography.

  • The dynamics of train has recently been analysed in many cases and very complex nonlinear creep theories have been developed by many engineers. But much calculation time is spent and latest complex creep theories cannot be adapted in train analysis. In this study efficient and fast train analysis method was suggested. Many of degree of freedom were reduced in multi-vehicle system using equivalent system and fast calculation time was achieved. And the accuracy of equivalent system method was proved by linear and nonlinear dynamic analysis.
