The purpose of this study was to examine differences between players who bend the left elbow and those who stretch it during the forward swing from BST to BC in a 2-handed backhand stroke among outstanding high school tennis players, and to assess the detailed 3D rotational kinematic characteristics of the shoulder and the hip. Statistically significant differences were observed between groups in the longitudinal axis rotation angle of the shoulder and the angle between the shoulder and the arm at BST, and in the side to side movement of the shoulder, the up and down movement of the hip, the side tilt angular velocity of the shoulder, the side tilt angular velocity of the hip, and the front tilt angular velocity of the hip at BC. The difference in the longitudinal axis rotation angle of the shoulder between the 2 groups suggests a difference in the flexibility of the joint in the shoulder arm racquet system. The longitudinal axis rotation angular velocity of the shoulder reached its peak at 75 % of the duration of the analyzed segment and then decreased little by little until BC. This time is considered the stage for increasing the angular velocity of the upper arm, the forearm, the hand and then the racquet, which are more distal segments than the shoulder.

Since rolling (Radial AC Tilt) motion in Optical Pickup Actuator causes RF signal degradation, many researches have been done to find out how to reduce rolling degree. This paper aims to introduce two methods of reducing rolling degree with their theoretical concepts and experimental results. First method rearranges magnetic circuit and the other one adjusts the proportion of the distances among mass center, actuating center and supporting center.
Core spinal muscles are related to trunk stability and assume the main role of stabilizing the spine during daily activities; strengthening of core muscles around the spine can therefore reduce the chance of back pain. The objective of the study was to investigate the effect of core muscle strengthening in the spine during spine stabilization exercise using a whole body tilt device. To achieve this, a validated musculoskeletal (MS) model of the whole body was used to replicate the input motion from the whole body tilting exercise. An inverse dynamics analysis was executed to estimate spine loads and muscle forces depending on the tilting angles of the exercise device. The activation of long and superficial back muscles such as the erector spinae (iliocostalis and longissimus) were mainly affected by the forward direction (-40°) of the tilt, while the front muscles (psoas major, quadratus lumborum, and external and internal obliques) were mainly affected by the backward tilting direction (40°). Deep muscles such as the multifidi and short muscles were activated in most directions of the rotation and tilt. The backward directions of the tilt using this device could be carefully applied for the elderly and for rehabilitation patients who are expected to have less muscle strength. In this study, it was shown that the spine stabilization exercise device can provide considerable muscle exercise effect.
In this thesis, we develop a vision based hand motion recognition system using a camera with two rotational motors. Existing systems were implemented using a range camera or multiple cameras and have a limited working area. In contrast, we use an uncalibrated camera and get more wide working area by pan-tilt motion. Given an image sequence provided by the pan-tilt camera, color and pattern information are integrated into a tracking system in order to find the 2D position and direction of the hand. With these pose information, we estimate 3D motion plane on which the gesture motion trajectory from approximately forms. The 3D trajectory of the moving finger tip is projected into the motion plane, so that the resolving power of the linear gesture patterns is enhanced. We have tested the proposed approach in terms of the accuracy of trace angle and the dimension of the working volume.
The purpose of this study is to find out design parameters of vibrating screen, such as particles motion, specific gravity, shape, and kinetic friction. In order to approach this problem, four materials of construction wastes, wood, styrofoam, concrete, and sand are used for dynamic modeling. To present friction between the particles material and tilt plates material, these particles model is applied in order to verify effectively. Generally, the vibrating screen is composed of three assemblies such as screen, wastes guide, supported of screen. This model regards vibrator as system of screen fixed tilt plates. The model is analyzed to present what kind of particles motion while the system is vibrating. and this vibration system has been implemented in a ADAMS dynamaic program. This modeling is consist of dynamic model separation state on particle size. This study make good technique to verify in theory.
In this paper, we develop a single wheeled robot that has one wheel to move. The single wheel robot is similar to a rolling disk relying on gyroscopic motions to balance. The Gyrobo consists of three actuators: a spin motor, a tilt motor and a drive motor. The spin motor spins a flywheel at high rate so that it provides the balancing stability to upright the robot. The tilt motor controls steering of the robot by gyroscopic effect. The drive motor make forward accelerated motion to the robot. We have built and tested the Gyrobo to turn and move forward.

This paper propose a method to trace a moving object based on the information directly obtained from MPEG-2 compressed video stream without decoding process. In the proposed method, the motion flow is constructed from the motion vectors involved in compressed video and then we calculate the amount of pan, tilt, zoom associated with camera operations using generalized Hough transform. The local object motion can be extracted from the motion flow after the compensation with the parameters related to the global camera motion. The moving object is designated initially by a user via bounding box. After then automatic tracking is performed based on the mean-shift algorithm of the motion flows of the object. The proposed method can improve the computation speed because the information is directly obtained from the MPEG-2 compressed video, but the object boundary is limited by blocks rather than pixels.

PURPOSE: This study was conducted to determine the effects of therapeutic exercise on range of motion (ROM), the manual muscle test (MMT), functional movement screen (FMS) and radiological evaluation in a youth football player with football-specific anterior pelvic tilt (APT). METHODS: The subject of this case report was a 12-year-old youth football player, who presented with football-specific APT. Therapeutic exercise consisted of hamstring stretch, prone hip extension, abdominal crunch, bridging with isometric hip abduction, plank exercise with posterior tilt and posterior pelvic tilting exercise using a swiss-ball for 40 min/day, twice a week for 8-weeks. ROM, MMT, FMS (deep squat, hurdle step, inline lunge, shoulder mobility, active straight-leg raise, rotary stability and trunk stability push-up) and radiographs (lumbar lordotic and sacral horizontal angle) were analyzed before and after week 8 of therapeutic exercise. RESULTS: The ROM, MMT, and FMS increased and the lumbar lordotic angle and sacral horizontal angle improved after 8-weeks of therapeutic exercise. CONCLUSION: The results of this case report suggest that therapeutic exercise improves ROM, MMT and radiography associated parameters in youth football players with football-specific APT. These findings have clinical implications for therapeutic exercise in youth football players with football-specific APT.

The combination of the marine use various multi sensor surveillance system technology with the development of servo motion control algorithm and gyro sensor in six freedom motion is implemented to analyze the movement response. The stabilization of the motion control is developed and Nano driving Precision Pan-Tilt/Gimbal system is obtained from the security positioning cameras with ultra high speed device is used to carry out the exact behavior of the device.
Background: Scapular posterior tilt (SPT) is important in the prevention of abnormal scapular movement and pain during elevation of the arm. However, previous studies have overlooked increased upper trapezius (UT) muscle activity interrupting the normal force couple of scapular motion and compensation of levator scapulae (LS) muscle activated simultaneously with UT during SPT exercise. Objects: The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of modified SPT with depression exercise versus SPT exercise on serratus anterior (SA), lower trapezius (LT), UT, and LS muscle activities and the clavicular tilt angle, in subjects with rounded shoulder posture (RSP) and myofascial pain in the UT muscle region. Methods: Eighteen subjects with RSP were recruited and randomly allocated to 2 groups; 9 in the SPT group and 9 in the SPT with depression group. All subjects met the specific RSP criteria and had myofascial pain of UT region. Depending on the allocated group, subjects performed the assigned SPT exercise and EMG data were recorded during the each exercise. Clavicular tilt angle was defined as the angle between the line joining the medial and lateral end of the clavicle and a horizontal line. Results: The SA muscle activity was significantly greater in SPT with depression than with SPT exercise (p<.05). The UT, LS muscle activity and the clavicular tilt angle was significantly lower in SPT with depression than with SPT exercise (p<.05). Conclusion: These findings were insightful because the potential risk of pain from overactivation of the UT and LS was considered, in contrast with SPT exercise. SPT with depression exercise can be implemented as an effective method to facilitate scapular muscle activity for stability and to prevent myofascial pain in the neck and shoulder.
