Voltage-Current Characteristics of (Sr.Ca)$TiO_3$-based Ceramics with contents of Calcite (Ca 변화량에 따른 (Sr.Ca)$TiO_3$계 세라믹의 전압-전류 특성)

  • In this paper, the structural and electrical properties of the $Sr_{1-x}Ca_xTiO_3$($0{\leq}x{\leq}0.2$)-based grain boundary layer ceramics were investigated by X-ray, SEM and V-I system. Increasing content of Ca, the average gram size and the lattice constant were decreased. The relative density of all specimens was > 96%. The 2nd phase formed by thermal diffusing from the surface lead to a very excellent electrical properties, that is, ${\varepsilon}_r$ > 50000, tan${\delta}$ < 0.05, $\Delta$C < ${\pm}$ 10%.

  • Commercially available PTCR (Postive Temperature Coefficient of Resistivity) ceramics which have low room temperature resistance, high PTC effect and temperature coefficient were prepared by La3+ doped semiconducting barium calcium titanate soild solutions. PTCR characteristics were remarkably improved by addition of AST (1/3 Al2O3$.$3/4SiO2$.$1/4TiO2) and MnCl2. That can be explained by formation of liquid phase during sintering and acceptor level on the intergranular layer. Resistivity anormaly increased with decreasing cooling rate. Optimum manufacturing conditions were cooling rate below 100$.$C/hr, Ca and Mn content of 4 mol% &, 0.09-0.12mol% respectively.

  • The effects of rapid solidification and Cr addition to the microstructure variations of the rapid solidified Ti-48Al-xCr(X = 2,4,6) alloys have been investigated using X-ray diffractometry, optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The segregated coarse ${\gamma}$ phase was eliminated and the microstructure was refined by rapid solidification of the cooling rate of $10^4-10^6\;^{\circ}C/sec$. The lattice parameters and tetragonality of ${\gamma}$ phase decrease with the increase Cr content and by the rapid solidification. Non-equilibrium phase ${\alpha}$ remains at room temperature condition, which would be resulted from the restriction of phase transformation ${\alpha}$ to ${\alpha}_2+{\gamma}$.

  • As a primary material for MLCC, $BaTiO_3$ particles coated with two additives in a core-shell structure were prepared in this study. This composite powder can not only reduce the VOC emission during MLCC manufacture but also increase the density and reliability of electronic products. The additives were $Y_2O_3$ and $MnCO_3$, whose composition information was obtained from domestic companies. It was observed that the surface of $BaTiO_3$ particles was uniformly as well as simultaneously coated by those two materials via urea-decomposition reaction over $70^{\circ}C$ as the reaction temperature. Elemental analysis indicated that the measured content of each additve was quite close to the designated value. The effect of polymeric dispersant such as PVP, on the coating characteristics was not as significant as expected.

  • In this study, tunable dielectric materials are important for resonator, variable capacitor, phased array antenna and other devices application. In this paper, Dielectric constant increased and tuning range increased with the increased of $BaSrTiO_3/Li_{2}CO_{3}$ content, which probably can be explained by the substitution of Ba3+, Li1+ on BaTiO3 lattice. The tunability and dielectric loss of the $BaSrTiO_2/Li_{2}CO_{3}$ thick film, sintered at $1150^{\circ}C$, were about 43 % and 0.234 at 10$\sim$15 MHz, respectively. In case of BaSrTi/MgO, Dielectric constant decreased and tenability increased with the added of $BaSrTiO_3/MgO$. The ferroelectrics properties were distinct when adding Li to BST ceramic thick film, and paraelectrics pattern was distinct when adding Mg.

  • The effects of welding conditions of gas metal arc welding on the elements loss of solid wire, oxygen content and impact toughness of weld metals were studied. Deoxidizing elements loss was increased with increase of arc voltage in both short-circuit transfer mode and globular transfer mode. It is believed that increase of arc voltage results in increase of reaction time between elements in the droplet and surrounding gas at the end of wire and in the arc column. Based on the thermodynamic equilibrium model, the oxygen content of weld metal can be predicted with the content of silicon and manganese as following : [%O] = $K([%Si][%Mn])^{-0.25}$, K = -15518/T+6.01. The equilibrium temperature was dependent on shielding gas, and it was 187$0^{\circ}C$ for $CO_2$ gas and 180$0^{\circ}C$ for 20%$CO_2$-80%Ar gas. The oxygen content of weld metal which shows maximum impact toughness was varied with deoxidizing alloy system of wires, 0.041 wt% for Si-Mn type wire and 0.026 wt% for Si-Mn-Ti type wire.

  • Sm-doped lead zirconate titanate($Pb_{1.1}(Zr_{0.6}Ti_{0.4})O_3$; PZT) thin films on the Pt(111)/Ti/$SiO_2$/Si(100) substrates prepared by a sol-gel method. The effect on structural and electrical properties of PZT thin films measured according to the Sm content. Sm-doping altered significantly dielectric and ferroelectric properties. The remanent polarization and the coercive field decreased with the increasing Sm content. The dielectric constant and the dielectric loss of PZT thin films decreased with the increasing Sm content. At 100 kHz, the dielectric constant and the dielectric loss of. the 0.3 mol% of Sm-doped PZT thin film were 1200 and 0.12 respectively. The remanent polarization (2Pr) of the 0.3 mol% of Sm-doped PZT thin film was $52.13{\mu}C/cm^2$ and the coercive field was 94.01 kV/cm. The 0.3 mol% of Sm-doped PZT thin film showed an improved fatigue characteristic comparing to the undoped PZT thin film.

Properties of the Positive Temperature Coefficient Resistor Behavior on the Na and K Doped BaTiO3 (Na 및 K 치환에 따른 BaTiO3의 Positive Temperature Coefficient Resistor 특성)

  • The influences of Na and K content on the crystal phase, the microstructure and the electrical property of $BaTiO_3$-based thermistors was found to show typical PTC effects. The crystal phase of powder calcined at $1000^{\circ}C$ for 4hrs showed a single phase with $BaTiO_3$, and the crystal structure was transformed from tetragonal to cubic phase according to added amounts of Na and K. In XRD results at $43^{\circ}\sim47^{\circ}$, the $(Ba_{0.858}Na_{0.071}K_{0.071})(Ti_{0.9985}Nb_{0.0015})O_{3-\delta}$ showed (002) and (200) peaks but the $(Ba_{0.762}Na_{0.119}K_{0.119})(Ti_{0.9975}Nb_{0.0025})O_{3-\delta}$ showed (002), (020) and (200) peaks. In sintered bodies, those calcined at $600^{\circ}C$ rather than at $1000^{\circ}C$ were dense, and for certain amounts of Na and K showed rapid decreases in grain size. In relative permittivity, the curie temperature due to the transformation of ferroelectric phase rose with added Na and K but decreased in terms of relative permittivity. In the result of the R-T curve, the sintered bodies have curie temperatures of about $140^{\circ}C$ and the resistivity of sintered bodies have scores of $\Omega{\cdot}cm$; the jump order of sintered bodies was shown to be more than $10^4$ in powder calcined at $1000^{\circ}C$.

The Effect of the Deposition Temperature and la Doping Concentration on the Properties of the (Pb, La)$\textrm{TiO}_3$ Films Deposited by ECR PECVD (증착온도와 La조성비가 ECR 플라즈마 화학기상증착법으로 증착한 (Pb, La)$\textrm{TiO}_3$박막의 물성에 미치는 영향)

  • Perovskite lanthanum doped lead titanate ($(Pb,La)TiO_{3}$ or PLT) thin films were successfully fabricated on Pt/TijSiO.iSi substrates at the temperatures as low as $440~500^{\circ}C$ by eleclron cyclotron resonance plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (ECR PECVII). Since the volatilities of the MC sources arid oxide molecules (especially Ph oxide) increased with increasing deposition temperature, the film deposition rate and the (I'b + La)/'Ti ratio decreased Stoichiometric perovskite PL'T films with good dielectric and leakeage current properties were obtained at the temperatures of $460~480^{\circ}C$. The lanthanum content of the film was nearly directly propotional to $La(DPM)_{3}$ flow rate. As the La/Ti ratio increased from 3.0 to 9.5%, the dielectric constant increased from 360 to 650 and the leakeage current density at 100kV/cm electric field decreased from $4{\times}10^{-5}$ to $4{\times}10_{-8}A/cm^2$.

Evaluation of Hydration Characteristics and NOx-removal Performances of Cement Paste Containing Refined TiO2 Obtained from Waste Sludge (폐수 슬러지에서 정제된 TiO2를 혼입한 시멘트 페이스트의 수화특성 및 질소산화물 제거 성능 평가)

  • The present study investigated the hydration properties and NOx-removal performances of the cement pastes containing three different types of TiO2. Two commercially available TiO2 (P-25 and NP-400) and refined TiO2 (GST) obtained from waste sludge were incorporated to cement paste at levels of 0, 5, 10, and 20 wt%. Isothermal calorimetry test results indicated that the TiO2 incorporation induced a notable influence on the reaction kinetics of cement paste, showing the highest cumulative heat release in the samples containing P-25, followed by NP-400 and GST. Quantitative X-ray diffractometry as calculated by the Rietveld method identified that the incorporated TiO2 promoted the formation of C-S-H, ultimately leading to the enhancement in the 28 day-compressive strength of cement pastes. As revealed by SEM/EDS analysis, the content of distributed Ti elements on the surface of the samples was in the order of P-25, GST, and NP-400. Regardless, the NOx-removal performance was the highest in the sample containing P-25, followed by NP-400 and GST.
