  • Bismuth lanthanum titanate thin films with excess Bi contents were prepared onto Pt/Ti/$SiO_2$/Si substrate by metalorganic decomposition (MOD) technique. The structure and morphology of the films were analyzed using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and atomic force microscopy (AFM), respectively. From the XRD analysis, BLT thin films show polycrystalline structure and the layered-perovskite phase was obtained over 10% excess of Bi contents. As a result of ferroelectric characteristics related to the Bi content of the BLT thin film, the remanent polarization and dielectric constant decreased with increasing over Bi content of 10 % excess. The BLT film with Bi content of 10% excess was measured to have a dielectric constant of n9 and dielectric loss of 1.85[%]. The BLT thin films showed little polarization fatigue test up to 3.5 x $10^{9}$ bipolar switching cycling.

  • [ $SnO_2$ ]-doped $TiO_2$ thin films were prepared from tin (IV) bis (acetylacetonate) dichloride and titanium diisopropoxide bis (acetylacetonate) with pluronic P123 or degussa P25 as a structural-directing agent. These hydrolyzed sol were spin coated onto Si(100) wafer substrate. The microstructure, morphology and bonding states of thin films were studied by field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), X-ray diffractometry (XRD), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The photocatalytic activity of these films was investigated by using indigo carmine solution.

Electrochemical characteristics of Ca, P, Sr, and Si Ions from PEO-treated Ti-6Al-4V Alloy Surface

  • Ti-6Al-4V alloys are widely used as metal-lic biomaterials in dentistry and orthopedics due to its excellent biocompatibility and me-chanical properties. However, because of low biological activity, it is difficult to form bone growth directly on the surface of titanium implants. For this reason, surface treatment of plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO) was used for dental implants. To enhance bioac-tivity on the surface, strontium(Sr) and sili-con(Si) ions can be added to PEO treated sur-face in the electrolyte containing these ions. The presence of Sr in the coating enhances osteoblast activity and differentiation, where-as it inhibits osteoclast production and prolif-eration. And Si has been found to be essen-tial for normal bone, cartilage growth, and development. In this study, electrochemical characteristics of Ca, P, Sr, and Si ions from PEO-treated Ti-6Al-4V alloy surface was re-searched using various experimental instruments. DC power is used and Ti-6Al-4V al-loy was subjected to a voltage of 280 V for 3 minutes in the electrolyte containing 5, 10, 20M% Sr ion and 5M% Si ion. The morphol-ogies of PEO-treated Ti-6Al-4V alloy by electrochemical anodization were examined by field-emission scanning electron micro-scopes (FE-SEM), energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDS), x-ray diffraction (XRD) and corrosion analysis using AC impedance and potentiodynamic polarization test in 0.9% NaCl solution at similar body tempera-ture using a potentiostat with a scan rate of 1.67mV/s and potential range from -1500mV to + 2000mV.

X-선 형광분석법에 의한 포틀란드 시멘트의 정량분석 (X-ray Fluorescence Analysis of Chemical Ingredients for Portland Cement)

  • X-선 형광분석법을 사용하여 표준검정곡선법으로 시멘트 중의 주, 부성분들을 정량하고 습식법과 분석결과를 비교하였다. 이때, 표준시료 및 미지시료는 용융 케스트 비드법으로 준비하였다. 표준시멘트(227A372)의 오차분석결과 주성분인 CaO, SiO2, Al2O3, Fe2O3 및 부성분중의 MgO, SrO는 상대오차가 1% 이내이었으며, 부성분중 So3, K2O, TiO2, Na2O P2O5 및 Mn2O3는 5% 이하의 상대오차를 가졌다. 부성분의 상대오차는 시료준비오차가 가장 큰 부분을 차지하였다. X-선 형광분석과 습식분석을 비교한 결과 시멘트 분석의 측정값간의 최대혀용범위를 만족하므로, X-선 형광분석법을 시멘트 화학분석에 적용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 그리고, 기존의 습식법으로 분석하기 어려운 시멘트내에 존재하는 미량성분인 P2O5, SrO 및 Mn2O3 의 정밀정확한 분석 또한 가능하였다.

강릉 보광리 분청도편의 성분과 미세구조 연구 (Composition and Microstructure of Punch'ong Sherds from Bokwang-ri, Kangnung)

  • 강릉 보광리 도요지에서 출토된 분청 도편의 성분과 미세구조의 특징을 EDS부착의 주사전자현미경과 X선 회절분석기, 열팽창측정기를 이용하여 조사하였다. 도편의 태토 성분은 $SiO_2(73-78\%),\;Al_2O_3(13-16\%)$, $RO{\cdot}R_2O(4-5\%,\;R=Ca,\;Mg,\;Na,\;K),\;R_xO_y(3-6\%,\;R=Fe,Ti)$로 구성되어 있으며, $SiO_2$의 양은 많은 편이나 $Al_2O_3$의 양은 적은 편이었다. 유약은 CaO 함량이 $21-30\%$로 높은 것으로 보아 석회계열의 유약으로 생각된다. 또한 도편의 소성온도는 $1150^{\circ}C$부근의 온도로 추정된다.

  • Ti-6Al-4V alloys have been widely used as orthopedic materials because of their excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical properties. However, it does not bind directly to the bone, so it requires a surface modification. This problem can be solved by nanotube and micropore formation. Plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) treatment for micropore, which combines high-voltage spark and electrochemical oxidation, is a new way of forming a ceramic coating on light metals such as titanium and its alloys. This method has excellent reproducibility and can easily control the shape and size of the Ti alloy. In this study, formation of bioactive surface by PEO-treatment after $2^{nd}$ ATO technique of Ti-6Al-4V alloy was invesgated by various instrument. Nanotube oxide surface structure was formed on the surface by anodic oxidation treatment in 0.8 wt.% NaF and 1M $H_3PO_4$ electrolytes. After nanotube formation, nanotube layer was removed by ultrasonic cleaning. PEO-treatment was carried out at 280V for 3 minutes in the electrolytic solution containing the bioactive substance (Mg, Zn, Mn, Sr, and Si). The surface of Ti-6Al-4V alloy was observed by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM, S-4800 Hitachi, Japan). An energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer (EDS, Inca program, Oxford, UK) was used to analyze the spectra of physiologically active Si, Mn, Mg, Zn, and Sr ions. The PEO film formed on the Ti-6Al-4V alloy surface was characterized using an X-ray diffractometer (TF-XRD, X'pert Philips, Netherlands). It is confirmed that bioactive ions play an essential role in the normal bone growth and metabolism of the human skeletal tissues.

  • Fresnoite 결정화 유리는 최근 비선형 광학특성으로 인하여 널리 연구되어 지고 있다. 그러나, 이전 연구 결과를 통하여 투명결정화 유리의 화학 조성으로는 정량적으로 Fresnoite 구조에 유사한 조성을 조절하는 것에 한계가 있음을 확인 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 $K_2O-TiO_2-SiO_2$ glass의 제조한 후, 제조된 유리를 $Sr(NO_3)_2$ 용융염에 담지하여 모유리의 표면에 Fresnoite 결정을 형성시키는 방법으로 투명결정화 유리를 제조하고, 이 때 Sr 이온이 비선형광학효과에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. XRD를 통하여 담지 시간에 따른 결정상 변화와 열처리를 통한 결정상 변화를 관찰하였으며, FE-SEM을 사용하여 생성된 결정의 미세구조와 Nd : YAG laser를 사용하여 2차비선형특성의 유무를 관찰하였다.

기판바이어스 인가에 따른 반응성 마그네트론 스퍼터링에 의한 TiN 코팅 (TiN Coatings by Reactive Magnetron Sputtering Under Various Substrate Bias Voltages)

  • Reactively magnetron sputtered TiN films were deposited on Si wafers under varying bias voltage and characterized by X-ray diffraction, field-emission scanning electron microscopy and Nanoindentation. The films deposited under an Ar + $N_2$ atmosphere exhibited a mixed (200)-(111) orientation with a strong (200) texture, which subsequently changed to a strong (111) texture with increasing bias voltage. The changes in texture and grain size of the TiN thin films are due to one or a combination of factors such as strain energy, surface free energy, surface diffusivity and adatom mobility. The influence of each factor depends on the processing conditions. The average deposition rate and grain size were calculated from FE-SEM images of the films indicating that the deposition rate was lower at the films deposited under bias voltage.

매트릭스 보정법을 이용한 규산질 광물 중 화학성분의 X-선 형광분광법 분석 (The Simultaneous Determination of Chemical Ingredients in Silica Minerals by X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry using Matrix Correction Method)

  • 규산질 광물 중 화학성분 원소인 $SiO_2,\;Al_2O_3,\;MgO,\;Fe_2O_3,\;CaO$$TiO_2$를 매트릭스 보정법을 이용한 X-선 형광분광법으로 분석하였다. 순수한 금속산화물을 혼합하여 만든 합성표준시료와 분석시료를 $Li_2B_4O_7$로 16배 희석, 용융하여 glass bead로 만들고 Lucas-Tooth와 Pyne 보정식을 사용한 실험계수법으로 성분간의 매트릭스 효과를 보정하였다. 각각 다른 세트의 매트릭스 계수를 사용하여 분석한 결과를 비교적 잘 일치하였으며 표준시료의 수가 많은 세트를 사용할 때 좋은 분석결과를 얻었다. 또한 NIST의 표준시료를 사용하여 이 방법에 의한 정확도를 검토하였다.

  • Ferroelectric $Sr_xBa_{1-x}Nb_2O_6(0.25{\leq}x{\leq}0.75)$ thin films were prepared by the Ion Beam Sputtering method. Deposit onto Pt/Ti/$SiO_2$/Si(100) substrates. The deposited thin films were heat-treated for crystallization. Microstructure and crystallization behavior were examined using FE-SEM, XRD. Ferroelectric hysteresis were measured. The measured remanent polarization and coercive field values were $38{\mu}C/cm^2$ and 120kV/cm, respectively.
