TiC-Nb 소결 복합재료의 연성-취성 천이 특성 (Ductile-Brittle Transition Property of Sintered TiC-Nb Composites)

  • In order to clarify the effect of Nb addition on the ductile-brittle transition property of sintered TiC, TiC-10 mol% Nb composites were researched using a three-point bending test at temperatures from room temperature to 2020 K, and the fracture surface was observed by scanning electron microscopy. It was found that the Nb addition decreases the ductile-brittle transition temperature of sintered TiC by 300 K and increases the ductility. The room temperature bending strength was maintained at up to 1800 K, but drastically dropped at higher temperatures in pure TiC. The strength increased moderately to a value of 320MPa at 1600 K in TiC-10 mol% Nb composites, which is 40% of the room temperature strength. Pores were observed in both the grains and the grain boundaries. It can be seen that, as Nb was added, the size of the grain decreased. The ductile-brittle transition temperature in TiC-10 mol% Nb composites was determined to be 1550 K. Above 1970 K, yieldpoint behavior was observed. When the grain boundary and cleavage strengths exceed the yield strength, plastic deformation is observed at about the same stress level in bending as in compression. The effect of Nb addition is discussed from the viewpoint of ability for plastic deformation.

생체용 Ti-15Sn계 합금의 내식성 및 기계적 성질에 관한 연구 (A Study on Corrosion Resistance and Mechanical Properties of Ti-15Sn System Alloys for Medical Implants)

  • The mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of Ti alloys for medical implants have been investigated. Ti, Ti-15Sn-4Nb and Ti-15Sn-4Nb-2Zr alloys were melted in arc furnace and the corrosion resistance of Ti alloys was evaluated by anodic polarization test. The microstructure and mechanical properties of Ti alloys were analysed by optical microscope, hardness and tensile tester. The tensile strength of the pure-Ti improved by addition of Sn and Nb and Ti-15Sn-4Nb alloy showed better Rockwell hardness compared with pure Ti. However, there was no significant difference in corrosion resistance between thoseTi-alloys made of Pure-Ti and Ti-15Sn-4Nb alloy. The passive films on the Ti-15Sn-4Nb alloy in air atmosphere consisted of $TiO_2$, SnO and NbO as demonstrated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)

  • AI킬드한 극저탄소강에 Ti, Nb등의탄화물 또는 질화물 형성원소를 첨가하면 우수한 디프드로잉특성과 내시효성을 나타내는 강판을 얻을 수 있다고 알려져 있으므로 본 연구에서는 Ti및 Nb를 단독 또는 동시에 첨가하거나 B를 추가로 첨가한 고강도 극저탄소 강판을 제조하여 각각의재결정 집합조직과 기계적 성질을 측정비교하여 보았다. 역극점도에 나타난 집합조직강도의 변화를 조사한 결과 어닐링처리에 의하여 (100)면 강도와 (111)면 강도의 변화가 가장 많이 나타난 것은 Nb첨가강이며, Nb와 Ti를 단독으로 첨가한 강과 Ti를 단독으로 첨가한 강은 변화정도가 비슷하였다.극점도를 비교하면,Nb와 Ti를 동시에 첨가한강, Nb를 단독으로 첨가한 강 그리고 Ti를 단독으로 첨가한강 모두 냉간 압연한 상태에서는{112}<110>집합조직이 발달하였으며 어닐링처리한 후에는 {111}<112>집합조직이 잘 발달하였다. 그러나 세 종류의 강간에 집합조직의 차이는 별로 없었다. 결정립도와 관계가 깊은 경도에서는 결정립도가 가장 작은 Nb 및 Ti동시첨가강에서 경도가 가장 높고, Nb단독첨가강, Ti단독첨가강의 순서로 감소하는 경향을 보였다.

  • NbTi/Cu superconducting wires were jointed inserting the NbTi filaments into Cu/NbTi sleeve and pressing it. When the NbTi filaments were inserted into Cu/NbTi sleeve additional NbTi filaments were inserted together to increase the numbers of filaments in the hole of sleeve. The thickness of sleeves and dimples were changed to get optimal factor for high Ic of joint Critical current of the joint with additional NbTi Filaments and 17mm thickness of dimple was 450 A at 4.2K, 0.5T.

임게전류밀도 향상을 위한 Cu/NbTi다층박막과 초전도 선재에서의 계면반응 (Interfacial reactions in Cu/NbTi multilayer thin films and superconducting wires)

  • Cu/NbTi multilayer thin films and superconducting wires were fabricated and heat treated with conventional annealing and analyzed by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) as a basic study for the enhancement of Jc. Interfacial reactions of Cu/NbTi multilayer thin films and superconducting wires were investigated with optical microscope, SEM, and XRD. According to the effective heat of formation (EHF) model, CU$\_$3/Ti was predicted as a first phase. However, considering the crystalline structure and thermodynamics, CuTi was predicted as a first phase. According to the results of DSC and XRD, CU$\_$2/Ti was found to be the first phase, followed by the formation Of CU$\_$4/Ti. The difference in first crystalline phase between the experimental result and the predicted one was discussed. In case of Cu/NbTi superconducting wires, the compounds formed at the Cu/NbTi interface grew with annealing time and the amount of compounds formed in Nb-47wt%Ti alloy was larger than that in Nb-50wt%Ti alloy. It seemed that the incubation time for the formation of compounds in Nb-50wt%Ti alloy was longer than that formed in Nb-47wt%Ti alloy. Also, the diffusion was the rate controlling step for the growth of compounds in all specimens. These compounds were formed at 500-600.deg. C for I hour annealing and, thus, the drawing time below I hour must be required to minimize the growth of compounds for the enhancement of Jc.

  • In this study, the electrical properties were investigated for the deposited Ba,Sr)(Nb,Ti)$O_3$[BSNT] thin films grown on $Pt/TiO_2/SiO_2/Si$ substrate by RF sputtering method. The structural properties of the BSNT thin films affected by the $Ar/O_2$ rates were investigated. In the case of the BSNT thin films deposited with condition of 60/40$(Ar/O_2)$ ratio, the $BaTiO_3$, $SrTiO_3$ and $BaNbO_3$ phases were showed. The composition ratio of Nb and Ti in the BSNT thin films were nearly equivalent. Also, in the BSNT thin films deposited with condition of 60/40 and 80/20$(Ar/O_2)$ ratios, the composition of Ba, Sr, Nb and Ti were relatively uniform. The Ba, Sr, Nb and Ti in the BSTN thin films were not diffused into the Pt layer.

  • In this study, the structural properties were Investigated for the deposited (Ba,Sr)(Nb,Ti)O$_3$[BSNT] thin films grown on Pt/TiO$_2$/SiO$_2$/Si substrate by RF sputtering method.   • This study is focusing on the improvement of problems of Ti-6Al-4V alloy. A new Ti based alloy, Ti-15Sn-4Nb, have designed to examine any possibility of improving the mechanical properties and biocompatibility. Specimens of Ti alloys were melted in vacuum arc furnace and homogenized at $100^{\circ}C$ for 24h. All specimens were solution treated at $812^{\circ}C$ and aged at $500^{\circ}C$ for 10h. The corrosion resistance of Ti alloys was evaluated by potentiodynamic polarization test and immersion test inl%Lactic acid solutions. Ti-15Sn-4Nb system alloys showed Widmanstatten microstructure after solution treatment which is typical microstructure of ${\alpha}+{\beta}$ type Ti alloys. Analysing the corrosion resistance of Ti alloys, it was concluded that the passive films of Ti-15Sn-4Nb system alloys are more stable than that of Ti-6Al-4V alloys. Also, the corrosion resistance of Ti-15Sn-4Nb system alloys was improved with adding elements, Hf. It was analysed that the passive film of the Ti-15Sn-4Nb alloy which was formed in air atmosphere was consisted of TiO2, SnO and NbO through X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) analysis.

  • A method to simultaneously synthesize and consolidate $Ti_5Si_4 \;and\; Ti_5Si_3$-20 vol%Nb composite from powders of Ti, Si and Nb was investigated. Combustion synthesis was carried out under the combined effect of an electric field and mechanical pressure. Highly dense $Ti_5Si_4 \;and\; Ti_5Si_3$-20 vol% Nb with relative densities up to 98% was produced from powders of Ti, Si and Nb under the application of 60 MPa pressure and 3000A current on the reactant.

  • 기존에 있는 Ti 합금의 여러 가지 단점을 보완하기 위해 골과의 탄성계수 차이를 줄이고 독성이 없는 Ta, Nb와 같은 ${\beta}$형 안정화 원소를 Ti 와 합금하여 Ti-30Ta-(3${\sim}$15wt%)Nb 합금을 제조하여 RF-magnetron sputter를 이용하여 Ti/HA 복합코팅을 하여 코팅된 합금의 전기화학적 특성을 조사하였다.
