Lonicera japonica Thunb. is a twining shrub that has been used as an antidote and to treat urinary disorders, fever and headache. It has been known as an anti-inflammatory agent in Korea from ancient times and is used widely for treating upper-respiratory tract infections, diabetes mellitus and rheumatoid arthritis. In the previous research, we isolated several flavonoid derivatives from the EtOAc soluble fraction. (omitted)

This paper is proposed to describe three new species and four varieties from Cheju Island to central part of Korea in Southern Korea. The new plant taxa are as follows: clematis taeguensis Y. The underground part of Rosa rugosa Thunb. has been used in Korean folk medicine for treating diabetes. The $^{1}H-NMR$ signal of procyanidin B3 isolated from Rosa rugosa was fully assigned by utilizing $^{1}H-^{1}H$ COSY. Procyandin B3 showed a moderate inhibitory activity against HIV-1 protease.
