Study of Capacitive Tilt Sensor with Metallic Ball

  • In this paper, a new, simple capacitive tilt sensor with a metallic ball is proposed. The proposed tilt sensor has only two electrodes and a metallic ball, and this design assists in managing the inherent contact problem in measuring tilt angles. Capacitive sensing, compared with other types of tilt sensor, has many advantages such as simplicity, noncontact measurement, long-throw linear displacement, and sub-micron plate spacing. Its design and fabrication process are significantly simpler than previous types of tilt sensors. The dimensions of the prototype tilt sensor are $20mm{\times}20mm$, and the diameter of the polystyrene tube is 5 mm with a tube thickness of 0.15 mm. An analytical study of the prototype capacitive tilt sensor was undertaken, and the experimental results demonstrate the relationship between the tilt angles and measured capacitances compared with the analytical study.

What Ecosystem Factors Impact the Growth of High-Tech Start-ups in India?

  • This paper empirically establishes the role played by the ecosystem related parameters in the emergence and growth of high technology start-up clusters in India. It is mainly based on secondary data from six major start-up hubs in India during the period 2005-2013. Our results throw up several interesting findings. First of all, we find that traditional infrastructure related factors or robust macroeconomic situation in general are not the most important drivers. What really seem to matter are the specific start-up ecosystem related factors - such as the Internet penetration, volume of deal flow, availability of VC funding and a pre-existing critical mass of relevant high technology businesses and skill-sets. Above all, our study points out that high economic growth alone will not automatically lead to spillovers in the form of a vibrant start-up ecosystem. Rather it has to be a product of conscious and concerted policy efforts at all levels that directly address the main challenges faced by the early-stage start-ups.

A Reconfigurable Directional Coupler Using a Variable Impedance Mismatch Reflector for High Isolation

  • This letter proposes a reconfigurable directional coupler that uses a variable impedance mismatch reflector to achieve high isolation characteristics in the antenna front end. The reconfigurable coupler consists of a directional coupler and a single-pole four-throw (SP4T) switch with different load impedances as a variable load mismatch reflector. Selection of the load impedance by the reflector allows cancellation of the reflected signal due to antenna load mismatch and the leakage from the input to isolation port of the directional coupler, resulting in high isolation characteristics. The performance of the proposed architecture in separating the received (Rx) signal from the transmitted (Tx) signal in the antenna front end was verified by implementing and testing the reconfigurable coupler at 917 MHz for UHF radio-frequency identification (RFID) applications. The proposed reconfigurable directional coupler showed an improvement in the isolation characteristics of more than 20 dB at the operation frequency band.

  • The increase of vehicles stagnations leads to the increasing attention to the way customers pay and a large number of projects on electronic cash system. Tranport system is comprised of a number of advanced technologies, including information processing, communications, control, and electronics. Recently many research on a system which provides contact in order to protect driver's vehicle passage have been carried out. And some potential problems from that system are being reviewed by electronic cash system. In this papers, we suggest Rf protocol developing technology using the concept of electronic cash. ATM electronic cash developing is consist of component of Pre-developed coin throw, integration of component using its, and production of more requirement-satisfactory ITS solution. Result increase $15{\sim}40%$ pre-type vehicles stagnations. Especially, we expect this proposed concept would be well adapted to our national environments.

"유문사친(儒門事親)"의 '하법(下法)'에 관한 연구

  • 在"四庫全書提要"上把張從正的"儒門事親"解題爲'惟儒者能明其理,而事親者當知醫也'. "儒門事親"的大旨主張驅邪而安正, 而且詳論汗, 吐, 下三法的理論和各科病証的臨床實踐, 因此論議着把當時的弊端弄正. 尤其張氏按照汗, 吐, 下三法的治病而採用的,不但好长时间研究"內經", "傷寒論"的結果,而且他经过运用另外治疗法并失败后, 探索的方法. 早就他說,'世之磨積取積之藥,余初學醫時,亦曾用之. 知其不效,遂改爲撤. 因考"內經"驟然大悟. "內經"曰: 木鬱達之,火鬱發之,土鬱奪之,金鬱泄之,水鬱折之', 把它进一步并解释'五鬱中木鬱達之者,吐之令其條達也. 汗者是風隨汗出也. 下者是推陳致新也', 积累臨床實踐的經驗并主张'所論三法,至精至熟,有得無失,所以敢爲來者言也'. 因此張氏通过使用'汗法'而疏通營衛, 使用'吐法'而條達, 使用'下法'而推陳致新,诱導了流畅气血并流通血气的作用. 尤其在"靈樞"的"平人絶穀"上寫着'胃滿則腸虛, 腸滿則胃虛, 更虛更實, 故氣得上下, 五臟安定, 血脈和利, 精神乃居', 胃腸不但正常地交替虛實和纳运幷轉化五穀的过程,而且對氣血臟腑的生理機能也有影響. 關于人體的'下法'作用機轉, 張氏主張'腸宜通暢', 也就是以这樣的认识爲基本. 論者已经在大韓韓醫學原典學會誌上投稿了關于"儒門事親"之'汗法'和'吐法'的研究,本论文上關于张氏的'下法',槪念, 種類及方法, 範圍, 規律, 禁忌, 調宜, 治療機轉方面上,通轣简單的研究而结束.

  • Two stroke low speed diesel engines that have many advantages such as high thermal efficiency and durability have been widely used for marine engine. However, it is also true that many problems have occurred due to the high explosion pressure and severe operating environment. Especially problems of shaft damage etc. intensively occurred due to the phenomenon of crankshaft exceeding the allowable stress, including the shaft vibration of the engine model in the early stage. In this study, the crankshaft fracture phenomenon of early engine model was evaluated and analyzed by using up-to-date torsional vibration calculation program and measurement instrument. And this was numerically shown.

  • In the past two stroke low speed diesel engine were widely used for marine propulsion. these engine have many merit for example, higher thermal efficiency and durability. however, shaft vibration problem was continuously rise up due to large power of two stroke low speed diesel engine. specially, the initial stage engine revolution counter & stress has acculated. For that reason, sometimes occurred crankshaft crack accident. In this study, regarding the initial stage engine, trying to analyze what is cause the crack phenomenon using by latest torsional vibration calculation program & measurement equipment.

  • The ability of 'creative thinking' is one of the most important fact for designers to complete their design process. It is not only the overall concept of the process but also all details related to each steps of the process such as planning product strategies, research, finding ways to solve problems image development, broadening ideas, etc. It is, however, not easy to creative as designers by natural learning through experiences unless they have geniuses for creative designing. Many experienced designers in the field are even in dilemmas being not be able to differentiate from copying other designs. This study is focused on the researches on the works of famous designers, architects and artists who have shown great creativities throw their works or processes. It is aimed to define their ways of thinking which could be fundamental motives for the creativeness, various behavioral methods to solve problems in creative ways, technical approaches to improve creativities, and overall intuition in the design working processes.

  • This paper is attempted to review a cave restoration and preservation plan against environmental destruction and pollution as a preliminary survey for preservation of cave environment. Consequently, it's important to throw an indirect light rather than direct light on cave formations, keeping distance of 2m at least. The already existing moss should be removed using wet cloth or sponge as soon as possible. If it's washed off, be careful not to splash it or water on nearby subjects. Based on an automatic switch-off system, light will automatically turn off when no one is left in the cave. It's also recommended to dualize the cave passage and partially close the cave by taking turns to give a time to recover.
