Recently, the life cycle of products is rapidly shortened and then the disposal of the used mold applied in development of the product is a difficult thing. In this study, we proposed the feasibility of new three plate type mold structure for recycling by analyzing of the existing standard mold base. And in order to apply new three plate mold structure in mold design and making. we constructed the specifications for mold parts such as runner stripper plate, cavity plate, core plate and slide core unit. Also, we confirmed the possibility of recycling mold base by testing a used three plate mold for audio front panel.
A Plate type pipe is used for heat exchange in radiator of a vehicle. The pipe has several rooms through which water flows and heat is dissipated into outside . In the case that there are small holes, cracks or some scratches on the plate, the radiators lost their functions due to Leakage. This may result in overheating of engine in a car. Thus, we need to perform the entire inspection of the plate type pipe in advance before assembling the radiator. In manufacturing process of the plate type pipe, the productive speed is very high and that may be performed continuously. So, there is no room to perform the outlook inspection by typical image processing techniques. This paper proposes a new method to inspect the outlook surface of the plate type pipe automatically with high speed. Especially, the sequential processing technique of an algorithm which detects defects on the surfaces of the plate type pipe is proposed for line scan camera which captures line image. To evaluate the inspection performance, a series of experiments is performed.
In the present investigation, the nonlinear dynamic buckling of a curved plate subjected to sinusoidal loading is examined. By the theoretical analyses, a highly nonlinear snap-through motion of a clamped-free-clamped-free plate and its effect on the overall vibration response are investigated. The problem is reduced to that of a single degree of freedom system with the Rayleigh-Ritz procedure. The resulting nonlinear governing equation is solved using Runge-Kutta (RK-4) numerical integration method. The snap-through boundaries, which vary with different damping coefficient and linear circular frequency of the flat plate are studied and given in terms of force and displacement. The relationships between static and dynamic responses at the start of a snap-through motion are also predicted. The analysis brings out various characteristic features of the phenomenon, i.e. 1) small oscillation about the buckled position-softening spring type motion, 2) chaotic motion of intermittent snap-through, and 3) large oscillation of continuous snap-through motion crossing the two buckled positions-hardening spring type. The responses of buckled plate were found to be greatly affected by the snap-through motion. Therefore, better understanding of the snap-through motion is needed to predict the full dynamic response of a curved plate.
Recently, the railroad route plan is trying to minimize the damage of the local resident which is caused by railroad construction. For this reason, reducing the banking height of soil roadbed, lowering the bridge girder height of a solid intersection and a part of cross river, the through bridge type which can achieve a required span length must apply. The representative through bridges of railroad are arch bridges, truss bridges and plate girder bridges, the through plate girder bridge of variable section can apply that the span length of these bridges is about $30{\sim}50m$, namely, middle span length bridge types, and that can satisfy structural capacity and beauty of railroad at the same time. This paper introduces plan and design process of the Su-eo cheon bridge applied by a through plate girder bridge type of the Jinju-Gwangyang double track 6th construction ordered at Korea Rail network Authority in 2005.
As a way of developing wooden joint development, a glass fiber reinforced wood plate was manufactured to replace a steel plate. Also, the fracture toughness was evaluated. Through application to a cantilever-type specimen made of a column and a beam, the moment resistance performance was evaluated. For the fracture toughness specimen of the wood plate, 12 types were manufactured by varying the combination of a main member (veneer and plywood) and reinforcement (glass fiber sheet and glass fiber cloth). The results of the fracture toughness test indicated that the 5% yield load of the specimen using plywood was 18% higher than that of the specimen using veneer, and that the specimen reinforced by inserting glass fiber sheets between testing materials (Type-3-PS) had the highest average 5% yield load 4841 N. Thus, a moment resistance strength test was performed by applying Type-3-PS to a column-beam joint. The results of the test indicated that compared to the specimen using a steel plate and a drift pin (Type-A), the maximum moment ratio of the specimen using a glass fiber reinforced wood plate (Type-3-PS) and a drift pin (Type-B) was 0.79; and that a rupture occurred in the wood plate due to high stiffness of the drift pin. The maximum moment ratio of the specimen using a glass fiber reinforced wood plate (Type-3-PS) and a glass fiber reinforced wooden laminated pin (Type-C) was 0.67, which showed low performance. However, unlike Type-A, a ductile fracture occurred on Type-C, and the load gradually decreased even after the maximum moment.

Absorption chiller/heater can utilize the unused energy of the daily life waste heat, the industry waste heat. the solar energy and the earth energy. These can contribute to energy savings. But the absorption chiller/heater has a demerit that the size of absorption chiller/heater is larger than that of the vapor compression type based on same capacity. In this study. the experimental apparatus of an absorber is manufactured as a plate. which is newly applied in an absorber. The experimental apparatus is composed of a plate type absorber. which can increase the heat exchange area per unit volume and thus facilitating to deeply investigate more detail features instead of that done by the existing type. i.e.. horizontal tube bundle type. The characteristics of heat transfer and refrigeration capacity are studied experimentally. The absorption enhancement by using surfactant is closely examined through the experiment and comparative figures are presented in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
This paper presents the automatic recognition system for car number plate. In our country, two types of number plate pattern is used. The one is old type of number plate, the other is new type of number plate. To recognize both new and old type number plates, the system must have flexibility. Therefore, in this paper, automatic recognition system is developed by use of the neural network for good adaptation, good generalization, and modulation. And because the number plate is made of three codes, the multi neural network consists of three networks. Neural network is teamed by GDR(Generalized Delta learning Rule) and it is verified the effectiveness of the method through experimental results.
Comminuted fracture of the distal end of the humerus in adults is very rare and difficult to treat. In operative treatment, an implant which can achieve accurate anatoraical reduction and rigid fixation is needed. But the preexisting Y -shaped plate had wide and thick limbs and some problems in fixation for most distal humeral fractures. So we devised a modified plate which is more narrow and th1n and has a different hole distance and wing length (long lateral wing). The aim of the study was to evaluate the clinical result of this modified anatomical Y -plate. From 1991 to 1997, we treated 23 cases of distal humeral fractures using modified anatomical plate and the results were as follows. 1. Fracture type in 18 patients(78%) was C-type(C1,C2,C3) which were intraarticular and mostly displaced or comminuted. 2. Bony union was obtained in 22 patients(96%) through rigid fixation and observed radiologically at 3.5 months(2-6months) on the average. 3. In 23 patients, 19 patients(82%) showed satisfactory results after 34 months(6-73months) follow-up. So if the modified anatomical Y-plate is used in the treatment of distal humeral fracture, a satisfactory result can be obtained through a more accurate, easy, and rigid fixation than preexisting plate.
The objective of this study was to investigate design factors of the electrolysis reactor through the CFD(computational fluid dynamics) simulation technique. Analyses of velocity vector, streamline, chloride ion concentration distribution showed differences in flow characteristics between the plate type electrode and the porous plate type electrode. In case of the porous plate type electrode, chlorine gas bubbles generated from the anode made upward density flow with relatively constant velocity vectors. Electrolysis effect was more expected with the porous plate type electrode from the distribution of chloride ion concentration. The upper part of the electrolysis reactor with the porous plate type electrode had comparatively low chloride concentration because chloride was converted to the chlorine gas formation. Decreasing the size and increasing total area of rectifying holes in the upper part of cathodes, and widening the area of the rectifying holes in the lower part of cathodes could improve the circulation flow and the efficiency of electrolysis reactor.
