선박용 글로브 밸브의 유동특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Flow Characteristics inside a Glove Valve for Ships)

  • It is essential for the valid design of a marine flow-control valve to exactly know its flow characteristics. The present study has numerically investigated the flow characteristics inside a marine throttle-type globe valve using a kind of commercial CFD code, CFX10.0, with an adoption of the SST (Shear-Stress Transport) turbulence model. To validate the numerical approach, the flow coefficients are compared with the experimental ones. Results show that the globe valve is effective in the control of flow rate according to the opening ratio in case of the forward-direction flow, whereas it is effective in the flow shutoff in case of the reverse-direction flow. Around the inlet of the valve, a recirculation region is formed due to the blunt body shape, the turbulence intensity becomes strengthened and then an abrupt pressure loss occurs.

  • A clutch is a very important component when engine starts and gear shifting is needed. The clutch the most commonly used is the dry clutch. This type of clutch has pads, and they are worn after disengagement of clutch little by little. The characteristics of the clutch changes as these pads wear, so wear needs to be measured, and the clutch should be controlled for proper operation. In this study, the clutch contact point estimation algorithm has been developed. From this algorithm, clutch force map changes depending on wear, and the clutch operates properly. We also see the shifting transient of a vehicle for drivability with throttle valve position control and synchronizer movement.

  • 본 논문에서는 보다 빠른 속도의 무인주행과 이를 가능케하는 안전한 항법구현에 주력하여 시스템을 개발하고 알고리즘을 적용한 결과를 보이고 있다. 또한 본 논문에서는 9개의 초음파 센서를 사용하여 가상역장 알고리즘을 적용한 험로주행용 차량의 무인주행에 적용한 시스템의 구성과 적용방법을 기술하고 실차실험을 통한 시스템의 성능과 향후 연구방향을 제시하였다.

OnBoard Vision Based Object Tracking Control Stabilization Using PID Controller

  • In this paper, we propose a simple and effective vision-based tracking controller design for autonomous object tracking using multicopter. The multicopter based automatic tracking system usually unstable when the object moved so the tracking process can't define the object position location exactly that means when the object moves, the system can't track object suddenly along to the direction of objects movement. The system will always looking for the object from the first point or its home position. In this paper, PID control used to improve the stability of tracking system, so that the result object tracking became more stable than before, it can be seen from error of tracking. A computer vision and control strategy is applied to detect a diverse set of moving objects on Raspberry Pi based platform and Software defined PID controller design to control Yaw, Throttle, Pitch of the multicopter in real time. Finally based series of experiment results and concluded that the PID control make the tracking system become more stable in real time.

  • The performance characteristics of lean burn system in gasoline engine are mainly affected by the air-fuel mixture in cylinder, gas exchange process of manifold system, exhaust emission of engine, and the electronic engine control system. In order to obtain the effect of performance factors on the optimum conditions of lean burn engine, this study deal with the behavior of mixture formation, gas flow characteristics of air, flow and evaporation analysis of spray droplet in cylinder, vaporization and burning characteristics of lean mixture in the engine, and the control performance of electronic engine control system. The optimum flow conditions were investigated with the swirl and tumble flows in the combustion chamber with swirl control valve. The performance characteristics and optimum condition of flow field in intake system were analyzed by the investigation of inlet flow of air and combustion stabilization on cylinder.

  • This paper presents AUTOSAR-ready light software architecture (AUTOSAR-Lite), which is a light weighted version of the AUTOSAR, for automotive embedded control systems. The proposed AUTOSAR-Lite reduces overhead problems caused by the excessive standard specifications of AUTOSAR. Concurrently, AUTOSAR-Lite keeps advantages of AUTOSAR such as a scalability, re-usability, reliability, and transferability. The fundamental design of AUTOSAR-Lite is originated from the AUTOSAR standard. AUTOSAR-Lite is composed of three layers such as an application software, runtime environment, and basic software layer. The application software layer adopts component-based design methodology as AUTOSAR. The runtime environment layer integrates interfaces between application and basic software layers. In case of the basic software layer, restrictions of the module configurations and interfaces of basic software are minimized. In order to validate the feasibility of AUTOSAR-Lite, a software design result based on AUTOSAR-Lite software architecture for electronic throttle control (ETC) system is suggested.

ADAPTIVE FDI FOR AUTOMOTIVE ENGINE AIR PATH AND ROBUSTNESS ASSESSMENT UNDER CLOSED-LOOP CONTROL

  • A new on-line fault detection and isolation(FDI) scheme has been proposed for engines using an adaptive neural network classifier; this paper investigates the robustness of this scheme by evaluating in a wide range of operational modes. The neural classifier is made adaptive to cope with the significant parameter uncertainty, disturbances, and environmental changes. The developed scheme is capable of diagnosing faults in the on-line mode and can be directly implemented in an on-board diagnosis system(hardware). The robustness of the FDI for the closed-loop system with crankshaft speed feedback is investigated by testing it for a wide range of operational modes, including robustness against fixed and sinusoidal throttle angle inputs, change in load, change in an engine parameter, and all changes occurring simultaneously. The evaluations are performed using a mean value engine model(MVEM), which is a widely used benchmark model for engine control system and FDI system design. The simulation results confirm the robustness of the proposed method for various uncertainties and disturbances.

승용차의 부분부하제어를 위한 스크류형 과급기 개발 (Development of a Screw Type Super-Charger for Part Load Control of Passenger Car)

  • Turbo- or Super-charging has been used to boost engine power for Gasoline- and Diesel Engine since beginning of 20th century. So far turbo-charger has enjoyed a high reputation in the charging field for its technical advantages such as no demand of operation power from engine and an excellent charging effect in a static operation at mid- and high engine speed. A mechanically driven super-charger, however, is now popular due to the high engine power at quick change of the driving mode - high engine torque even at low engine speed. Since super-charger needs operation power from engine, it is difficult to improve its relatively higher fuel consumption than that of turbo-charger. This negative point is still an obstacle to the wide use of supercharger. Super-charger using screw-type compressor will fulfill the purpose to reduce fuel consumption by minimizing operation power owing to no charge at idling or part load driving condition. This study aims to develop power control concept to achieve the minimization of operation power. A screw type super-charger was modified in design partially and installed with an internal bypass valve and a bypass tube to control charging pressure at part load. The various control concepts show a possibility to reduce operation power of super-charger.

Turbo-charger is now playing a major role in the field of charging system thank to its technical advantages such as no demand of operation power from engine. Since Super-charger needs operation power from engine, it is difficult to improve its relatively higher fuel consumption than that of Turbo-charger.   • In the practical control systems, the dynamic range of actuatiors is limited(or saturated) when actuators are driven by sufficiently large signals. This gives rise to a nonlinearity as a result of actuator saturation. For example, the upper limit is imposed on productive capability by available factory space and capital equipment. Other examples of those kinds of actuator saturations are a maximum torque of the actua- ting motors and a throttle position in an aircraft speed control A saturating actuator may lead not only to a large overshoot during start-up and shut-down, but also to deterioration of the performance due to the uncertainties. That is, the speed of response is decreased and, possibly, the system output may not follow the lalrge reference inputs. The large-overshoot may be accompanied by rest wind-up(or called by integra- tor wind-up) which comes from controllers with integral action in saturation operation regions. Eventually, as the overshoot increases, the system has a limit cycle or becomes oscillatorily unstable. Due to these cir- cumstances, many studies are focused on the stability and robustness of the nonlinear systems with satu- rating actuator in the time-domain as well as in the frequency-domain.
