  • This paper have presented the analysis of the change for threshold voltage and drain induced barrier lowering among short channel effects occurred in subthreshold region for double gate(DG) MOSFET with two gates to be next-generation devices, based on scaling theory. To obtain the analytical solution of Poisson's equation, Gaussian function been used as carrier distribution to analyze closely for experimental results, and the threshold characteristics have been analyzed for device parameters such as channel thickness and doping concentration and projected range and standard projected deviation of Gaussian function. Since this potential model has been verified in the previous papers, we have used this model to analyze the threshold chatacteristics. As a result to apply scaling theory, we know the threshold voltage and drain induced barrier lowering is changed, and the deviation rate is changed for device parameters for DGMOSFET.

  • The present study was undertaken to confirm whether melittin, a major constituent of whole bee venom (WBV), had the ability to produce the same nociceptive responses as those induced by WBV. In the behavioral experiment, changes in mechanical threshold, flinching behaviors and paw thickness (edema) were measured after intraplantar (i.pl.) injection of WBV (0.1 mg & 0.3 mg/paw) and melittin (0.05 mg & 0.15 mg/paw), and intrathecal (i.t.) injection of melittin $(6{\mu}g)$. Also studied were the effects of i.p. (2 mg & 4 mg/kg), i.t. $(0.2{\mu}g\;&\;0.4{\mu}g)$ or i.pl. (0.3 mg) administration of morphine on melittin-induced pain responses. I.pl. injection of melittin at half the dosage of WBV strongly reduced mechanical threshold, and increased flinchings and paw thickness to a similar extent as those induced by WBV. Melittin- and WBV-induced flinchings and changes in mechanical threshold were dose- dependent and had a rapid onset. Paw thickness increased maximally about 1 hr after melittin and WBV treatment. Time-courses of nociceptive responses induced by melittin and WBV were very similar. Melittin-induced decreases in mechanical threshold and flinchings were suppressed by i.p., i.t. or i.pl. injection of morphine. I.t. administration of melittin $(6{\mu}g)$ reduced mechanical threshold of peripheral receptive field and induced flinching behaviors, but did not cause any increase in paw thickness. In the electrophysiological study, i.pl. injection of melittin increased discharge rates of dorsal horn neurons only with C fiber inputs from the peripheral receptive field, which were almost completely blocked by topical application of lidocaine to the sciatic nerve. These findings suggest that pain behaviors induced by WBV are mediated by melittin-induced activation of C afferent fiber, that the melittin-induced pain model is a very useful model for the study of pain, and that melittin-induced nociceptive responses are sensitive to the widely used analgesics, morphine.

  • The experiments were carried out in fields for two years from 2008 to assess yield losses of squash due to powdery mildew caused by Sphaerotheca fuliginea and to determine its economic thresholds. Powdery mildew disease was first observed in late June, about 50 days after field-transplanting, progressed rapidly during late July to early August, and began to reduce from late August. Powdery mildew severity was negatively correlated with squash yields. A positive correlation was observed between fruit weight and % marketable fruits. A simple linear regression model was obtained as Y=-10.399 X + 6607.5 with $R^2$ = 0.9700 when squash yields (Y) was predicted using powdery mildew severity as an independent variable(X). Spray threshold for maximizing squash yields without economic considerations was estimated as 6.5% in terms of leaf lesion area with powdery mildew. Economic threshold and economic spray threshold able to compensate the costs of fungicide sprays were determined as 21.6% and 17.3% in leaf lesion area, respectively.

  • Soil erosion is a natural process and has been occurring in most areas in the watershed. However, accelerated soil erosion rates have been causing numerous environmental impacts in recent years. To reduce soil erosion and sediment inflow into the water bodies, site-specific soil erosion best management practices (BMPs) need to be established and implemented. The most commonly used soil erosion model is the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE), which have been used in many countries over 30 years. The Sediment Assessment Tool for Effective Erosion Control (SATEEC) ArcView GIS system has been developed and enhanced to estimate the soil erosion and sediment yield from the watershed using the USLE input data. In the last decade, the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model also has been widely used to estimate soil erosion and sediment yield at a watershed scale. The SATEEC system estimates the LS factor using the equation suggested by Moore and Burch, while the SWAT model estimates the LS factor based on the relationship between sub watershed average slope and slope length. Thus the SATEEC and SWAT estimated soil erosion values were compared in this study. The differences in LS factor estimation methods in the SATEEC and SWAT caused significant difference in estimated soil erosion. In this study, the difference was -51.9%(default threshold)$\sim$-54.5%(min. threshold) between SATEEC and non-patched SWAT, and -7.8%(default threshold)$\sim$+3.8%(min. threshold) between SATEEC and patched SWAT estimated soil erosion.

  • In this paper. we Propose the noise suppressor with the Perceptual model and wavelet packet transform. The objective is to enhance speech corrupted colored or non-stationary noise. If corrupted noise is colored. subband approach would be more efficient than whole band one. To avoid serious residual noise and speech distortion, we must adjust the Wavelet Coefficient Threshold (WCT). In this Paper. the subband is designed matching with the critical band and WCT is adapted noise masking threshold (NMT) and segmental signal to noise ratio (seg_SNR). Consequently. it has similar Performance with EVRC in PESQ-MOS. But it's better than wavelet packet transform using universal threshold about 0.289 in PESQ-MOS. The important thing is that it's more useful than EVRC in coded speech. In coded speech. PESQ-MOS is higher than EVRC about 0.23.

  • Recently, a tracking algorithm called the spatial-temporal context model has been proposed to locate a target by using the contextual information around the target. This model has achieved excellent results when the target undergoes slight occlusion and appearance changes. However, the target location in the current frame is based on the location in the previous frame, which will lead to failure in the presence of fast motion because of the lack of a prediction mechanism. In addition, the spatial context model is updated frame by frame, which will undoubtedly result in drift once the target is occluded continuously. This paper proposes two improvements to solve the above two problems: First, four possible positions of the target in the current frame are predicted based on the displacement between the previous two frames, and then, we calculate four confidence maps at these four positions; the target position is located at the position that corresponds to the maximum value. Second, we propose a target reliability criterion and design an adaptive threshold to regulate the updating speed of the model. Specifically, we stop updating the model when the reliability is lower than the threshold. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm achieves better tracking results than traditional STC and other algorithms.

  • In this paper, we have designed the p-type metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor(pMOSFET) for SiGe devices with gate lengths of $0.9{\mu}m$ and $0.1{\mu}m$using the TCAD simulators. The electrical characteristics of devices have been investigated over the temperatures of 300 and 77K. We have used the two carrier transfer models(hydrodynamic model and drift-diffusion model). We how that the drain current is higher in the hydrodynamic model than the drift-diffusion model. When the gate length is $0.9{\mu}m$, the threshold voltage shows -0.97V and -1.15V for 300K and 77K, respectively. The threshold voltage is, however, nearly same at $0.1{\mu}m$ for 300K and 77K.

  • To identify the relationship between types of job classification (typical and atypical) and the levels of recognition of noise and the hearing threshold shift, a total of 457 workers in a cosmetic company were studied utilizing a questionnaire and the audiometric hearing test. The results were analyzed by factor analysis, t-test, and general linear model, as appropriate. The results showed that atypical workers had higher level of noise recognition but had lower levels of hearing ability, noise exposure, and the knowledge on hearing loss prevention, compared with those of typical workers. The high noise level group of typical workers showed higher threshold shift levels than that of atypical workers. Significant differences were found at 4 kHz for both ears and in right ear only for hearing threshold shift after adjusting age.

  • The size of minimum order stream has a very sensitive effect on runoff analysis model using the divergence characteristic of stream. Therefore, in this study, the threshold area of minimum order stream has been examined the change characteristic of topographical parameters. The subject basin of the research was the upper basin of the Kumho water gage station which is located in the middle of the Kumho river. The 1:25,000 numerical geography which was constructed $10{\times}10m$ mesh was used. The range of investigation of topographical parameters are number of stream order, length, area, slope, basin relief, sinuosity ratio, drainage density and total stream length etc. It was found from the result of analysis that the threshold value of minimum order stream has a very big effect on topographical parameters of basin. It was found that the threshold area of minimum ord er stream revealed under $0.10km^{2}.$ Furthermore, the parameters showed a serious change except for over $0.10km^{2}.$
