생각회피훈련을 이용한 생각억제와 생각대체 전략의 효과비교 (Comparison of Effects of Thought Suppression and Thought Substitution Strategies Using Thought Avoidance Training)

  • 본 연구는 생각/생각회피 과제를 이용하여 의도적 생각회피, 즉 생각억제와 생각대체의 효과를 종합적으로 검증하였다. 이를 위해 연관성이 높지 않은 2음절 단어자극을 선정하고, 단일집단을 대상으로 회상조건(단서회상, 표적회상)과 훈련조건(생각, 생각억제, 생각대체, 기저선)의 정확회상률을 비교하였다. 그 결과, 훈련조건과 관계없이 표적회상에 비해 단서회상의 정확기억률이 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 회상조건과 관계없이 다른 조건에 비해 생각조건의 정확회상률이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 회상조건과 훈련조건의 상호작용 효과의 경향성이 나타났으며, 세부적 검증 결과. 생각억제의 경우, 회상조건 간 차이가 나타나지 않은 반면에 생각대체의 경우에는 표적회상에 비해 단서회상의 정확기억률이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 생각억제와 생각대체전략이 모두 의도적으로 생각을 회피하는데 효과적이라는 것과 더불어 생각억제와 생각대체전략이 서로 다른 원리에 의해 발생할 수 있음을 시사한다.

Intermittent Addiction and Double Sidedness of Thought Suppression: Effects of Student Smart Phone Behavior

  • Purpose - This study investigates the effects of thought suppression on depression and uneasiness among college students likely to be influenced by smart phone addiction. Research design, data, and methodology - A total of 151 valid questionnaires were collected. The following analyses were conducted using SPSS 19.0 and AMOS 19.0: frequency, descriptive statistics, correlation, simple regression, and multiple regression. Results - Smart phone addiction increased uneasiness, depression, impulsiveness, and aggression. Moreover, uneasiness, depression, impulsiveness and aggression from smart phone addiction, had a negative influence on psychological wellbeing resulting in potential delinquent behavior. In addition, the addiction treatment relied heavily on drugs; therefore, such psychological treatment should be strengthened to control intermittent addiction. Conclusions - The results indicate that various kinds of research are needed to investigate personality and environmental factors that influence smart phone addiction. Additionally, studies on lessening smart phone addiction and living healthy lifestyles are needed. Moreover, psychological rehabilitation and treatment should be developed to lessen the rebound effect after thought suppression, to verify the effects of clinical application, and to prevent intermittent addiction.

송건호의 언론활동과 언론사상 (Gun-Ho Song's Journalistic Activity and Thought of the Press)

  • 송건호는 기자들을 대상으로 한 설문조사에서 '가장 존경하는 인물'로 선정된 바 있다. 송건호는 언론인으로 활동하며 언론이 정권의 탄압에 굴복하고, 정권의 특혜를 받으며 기업화되는 과정을 직접 경험했다. 그는 1975년에 "동아일보"가 정권의 탄압에 굴복해 기자들을 대량 해고하자 책임감을 느끼고 신문사를 퇴직했다. 그 후 그는 권력과 자본에 종속된 언론에 대해 더욱 예리한 비판을 가했다. 송건호 언론사상의 핵심은 언론이 권력과 자본으로부터 독립해 민족주의와 민주주의에 기여해야 한다는 것이다. 또한 그는 언론인이 기능인과 같은 역할만을 하는 것을 넘어서서 역사의식과 사회과학적 지식을 갖추고 활동해야 한다고 주장했다. 그의 언론사상은 또 다시 언론의 독립이 위태롭고 언론인의 기능인화가 드러나는 현재의 언론 현실에서도 여전히 유효하다. 그의 언론활동과 언론사상을 살펴보는 것은 미디어 환경의 변화 속에서 언론의 올바른 역할과 언론인의 바람직한 자세를 모색하는 데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다.

랑게르한스세포에서 IL-1$\beta$ mRNA 발현에 대한 Pedunculagin의 효과 (Effect of Pedunculagin on IL-1$\beta$ mRNA Expression in Langerhans cells)

  • Contact hypersensitivity (CHS) serves as a good model of cell-mediated reaction. Epidermal langerhans cell (LC) are thought to playa crucial role in the regulation of immune reaction of the skin, which elicit the CHS response by presenting Antigen to trafficking Ag-specific T cells within the skin. However, contact hypersensitivity is regarded as a negative side of immunities, caused by increased damaging immune response. Therefore, the study of effector molecule causing immune suppression is thought to be meaningful in the skin immune response. For this aim, this study investigated the influence of pedunculagin on cytokine, IL-$\beta$ expression from langerhans cell (LC). In vitro and in vivo, pedunculagin up-regulated the expression of IL-1$\beta$ mRNA. After PMA stimulation in vitro and DNFB sensitization in vivo, the expression of IL-1$\beta$ mRNA was down-regulated. This results suggested that pedunculagin could be immuno-modulator in skin immune system by modulating IL-1$\beta$ expression.

  • The proliferation of bone marrow stem cell compartment is thought to be under both positive and negative controls by cytokines and colony stimulation factors. Macrophage inflammatory $protein-1{\alpha}(MIP-1{\alpha})$ has been assessed for its potential to protect hematopoietic stem cells from cytotoxic effects of a cycle-specific antineoplastic agents. We have tested the ability of $MIP-1{\alpha}$ to suppress the proliferation of stem cell line Du.528.101 in variety of active status by using $[^{3}H]-thymidine$ incorporation test. The results were as follows. 1. The effect of $MIP-1{\alpha}$ on steady-state Du.528.101 cell represented the cell growth suppression at the concentration of 10, 50, 100nM of $MIP-1{\alpha}$(P<0.001). 2. $MIP-1{\alpha}$ stimulated the proliferation of Du.528.101 cells previously treated with IL-1 at the concentration of 5, 50nM of $MIP-1{\alpha}$(P<0.01). 3. The suppression effect of MIP-1 on Du.528.101 cells at the concentration of 5, 50nM was shown when cells were treated with $MIP-1{\alpha}$ before activation with $IL-1{\beta}(P<0.01)$. 4. The growth rate of synchronized cells were slower than that of non-synchronized ones, and $MIP-1{\alpha}$ represented the similar suppression effect on both synchronized and non-synchronized cells.

Exploring upregulated genes during osteogenic differentiation of hMSCs

  • Human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells are thought to be multipotent cells, which are present in adult marrow, that can replicate as undifferentiated cells and that have the potential to differentiate to lineages of mesenchymal tissues, including bone, cartilage, fat, tenden, muscle, and marrow stroma. Cells that have the characteristics of human mesenchymal stem cells could be isolated from marrow aspirates of human and animals. This study was designed to identify and characterize genes specifically expressed by osteogenic supplements -treated cells by suppression subtractive hybridization(SSH) method. The results were as follows: 1. 2 genes were upregulated genes in osteogenic diffeentiation of hMSCs, which is further proved by Northern blot analysis. 2. IGFBP-2 has been identified playing an important role in bone formation. 3. HF1 was also upregulated during osteogenic differentiation, but its role in bone formation is not clear yet.

The Effect of Transverse Magnetic field on Macrosegregation in vertical Bridgman Crystal Growth of Te doped InSb

  • An investigation of the effects of transverse magnetic field and Peltier effect on melt convection and macrosegregation in vertical Bridgman crystal grosth of Te doped InSb was been carried out by means of microstructure observation, Hall measurement, electrical resistivity measurement and X-ray analysis. Before the experiments, Interface stability, convective instability and suppression of convection by magnetic field were calculated theoretically. After doping 1018, 1019 cm-3 Te in InSb, the temperature of Bridgman furnace was set up at $650^{\circ}C$. The samples were grown in I.D. 11mm, 100mm high quartz tube. The velocity of growth was about 2${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/sec. In order to obtain the suppression of convection by magnetic field in the middle of growth, 2-4KG magnetic field was set on the melt. For searching of the shape of solid-liquid interface and the actual velocity of crystal growth, let 2A current flow from solid to liquid for 1second every 50seconds repeatedly (Peltier effect). The grown InSb was polycrystal, and each grain was very sharp. There was no much difference between the sample with and without magnetic field at a point of view of microstructure. For the sample with Peltier effect, the Peltier marks(striation) were observed regularly as expected. Through these marks, it was found that the solid-liquid interface was flat and the actual growth velocity was about 1-2${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/sec. On the ground of theoretical calculation, there is thermosolutal convection in the Te doped InSb melt without magnetic field in this growth condition. and if there is more than 1KG magnetic field, the convection is suppressed. Through this experiments, the effective distribution coefficients, koff, were 0.35 in the case of no magnetic field, and 0.45 when the magnetic field is 2KG, 0.7 at 4KG. It was found that the more magnetic field was applied, the more convection was suppressed. But there was some difference between the theoretical calculation and the experiment, the cause of the difference was thought due to the use of some approximated values in theoretical calculation. In addition to these results, the sample with Peltier effect showed unexpected result about the Te distribution in InSb. It looked like no convection and no macrosegregation. It was thought that the unexpected behavior was due to Peltier mark. that is, when the strong current flew the growing sample, the mark was formed by catching Te. As a result of the phenomena, the more Te containing thin layer was made. The layer ruled the Hall measurement. The values of resistivity and mobility of these samples were just a little than those of other reference. It was thought that the reason of this result was that these samples were due to polycrystal, that is, grain boundaries had an influence on this result.

YIG 소결시 나타나는 비정상입성 장 현상과 그의 억제 (Suppression of the abnormal grain growth in the sintering of YIG)

  • In the sintering of YIG, abnormal grain growth phenomena was observed. This abnormal grain growth is related to the sintering temperature in this experiment. In the sintering below 145$0^{\circ}C$., the sintered body showed narrow size distribution. However, in the sintering at 145$0^{\circ}C$, a few grains grew rapidly with respect to other grains, and bimodal size distribution was appeared. Liquid phase was not observed far from the abnormally grown large grains, but only near the large grains. This means that the abnormal grain growth was caused by the nonuniform distribution of liquid phase which promote the grains growth. This nonuniform distribution of liquid phase was thought to be due to the nonuniform mixing of the starting materials. This abnormal grain growth was suppressed by enhance the compositional uniformity by multiple calcination.

Control of Rumen Microbial Fermentation for Mitigating Methane Emissions from the Rumen

  • The rumen microbial ecosystem produces methane as a result of anaerobic fermentation. Methanogenesis in the rumen is thought to represent a 2-12% loss of energy intake and is estimated to be about 15% of total atmospheric methane emissions. While methanogenesis in the rumen is conducted by methanogens, PCR-based techniques have recently detected many uncultured methanogens which have a broader phylogenetic range than cultured strains isolated from the rumen. Strategies for reduction of methane emissions from the rumen have been proposed. These include 1) control of components in feed, 2) application of feed additives and 3) biological control of rumen fermentation. In any case, although it could be possible that repression of hydrogen-producing reactions leads to abatement of methane production, repression of hydrogen-producing reactions means repression of the activity of rumen fermentation and leads to restrained digestibility of carbohydrates and suppression of microbial growth. Thus, in order to reduce the flow of hydrogen into methane production, hydrogen should be diverted into propionate production via lactate or fumarate.

Reflux Following Esophagectomy for Esophageal Cancer

  • Gastroesophageal reflux is a common problem after gastroesophageal resection and reconstruction, despite the routine prescription of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). Resection of the lower esophageal sphincter and excision of the vagus nerve are generally thought to be the main factors that interfere with gastric motor function. However, physiological studies of reflux symptoms after esophagectomy are still lacking. Gastroesophageal reflux occurs frequently after esophagectomy, but there is no known effective method to prevent it. Therefore, in order to manage gastroesophageal reflux after esophagectomy, strict lifestyle modifications and gastric acid suppression treatment such as PPIs are needed, and further clinical studies are required.
