  • Third Party Logistics (TPL) providers offer outsourced logistics services to companies for part or sometimes all of their supply chain management. Although TPL market is increasing rapidly and drawing much attention from various aspects, it is not easy to find the researches dealing with relations between TPL providers and home delivery companies dealing with small-sized cargo. This study focused on service dimensions which TPL providers consider when they choose a home delivery company. In this paper, we found five factors of service dimensions including delivery charge, logistics management shills, partnership, and then investigated which dimensions affect TPL providers' preference. In addition, we showed that the logistics management skills are more important than the delivery charge which has commonly been considered the most important factor. This study offers managerial insights on TPL providers' prefer once which we can hardly find in theoretical and practical perspective.

Shipping companies expect that the consulting services would be able to increase the efficiency through utilizing not logistics functions of shipping, unloading, storage, and information but performance indices of logistics activities. Because shipping companies generally regard that third party logistics not only has no expertise but also is small, in order to activate third-party logistics industry, the consulting services should be improved.

  • A large number of industry and trade circulation enterprises integrate logistics resource. They give links of product transport to some professional logistics enterprises in order to reduce costs. We call these professional logistics enterprises as the Third-party Logistics. As the development of the computer and internet, the suppliers, buyers and the Third-party Enterprises connect each other with internet. And different company use different management software, so heterogeneous data become a big problem of the information system for Third-party Enterprises. We built the logistics ontology with prot$\'{e}$g$\'{e}$, and translate it in OWL. We also built the rules for Logistics Ontology to improve the limitations of the OWL. Then we design the intelligent system for 3PL Enterprises Distribution Center based on Logistics Ontology and Logistics Rules. At final, we give an example to show the workflow visually.

As international multinational corporations have taken part in China market, they use their current 3PL providers to assist them to deal with the substantial logistics issues that exist in expanding their business activities in China. Traditional 3PL services such as transportation, warehousing and customs clearance are main in China's 3PL market. A variety of domestic laws and regulations on logistics in China prevent 3PL Providers from supplying value-added additional services to their users.
