The general way to process the surface by means of the laser was heat treatment for strengthening the surface hardness. They have used the laser for changing the property of the surface, especially for metal. Generally, it is recent increasing tendency to use the thin plate panel for making things smaller and lightweight. However, thin plate should be strengthened or let the thin plate panel have moment of inertia by means of engraving the groove or wave on them for lightweight and strengthening. Therefore it is expected that the thin plate panel can be harder and more stable through processing the metal surface by laser beam irradiation and the hardness of thin plate possibly can be also changed how many parts of them are harden. Through this research, it can be grasped how the hardness and mechanical characteristic changes according to width and depth of groove by laser affect the max stress by the ratio of $A_H/A_T$ (hardening area/total area) and characteristic of displacement and structural characteristic for making the thin plate harder by the strengthening metal surface of thin plate by laser through the experiment and analysis of FEA can be presented.
Prediction and control of the thermal distortion is particularly important for the design and manufacture of welded thin plate panel. In this study, experiments and computations are performed to analyze effect of a hole configuration and a specimen size on distortion. In addition, this study aims to develop a thermal elasto-plastic simulation using finite element method to predict distortion, with particular emphasis on buckling deformation generated in plates welded around hole. From the experiments, the severe distortion appeared in the weldments by the laser welding process, in which the specimen size plays an important role on the distortion but the hole configuration showed little effect. And the results of numerical analysis were corresponded well with the experiment ones. Thus, a thermal elasto-plastic analysis model for predicting the weld distortion of thin plate panel was successfully developed through this study.

The FPDs(Flat Panel Displays) such as LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and PDP(Plasma Display Panel) and OLED(Organic Light Emitting Diode), recently, have been substituted for CRT(Cathode Ray Tube) displays because they have a convex surface, small volume, light weight and lower electric power consumption. The productivity of FPDs is greatly dependent on the area of thin glass panel with 0.6 - 0.8mm thickness because FPDs are manufactured by cutting a large-scaled thin glass panel with patterns to the required product dimensions. So FPD's industries are trying to increase the area of thin glass panel. For example, the thin glass panel size of the 8th generation is 2,200mm in width, 2,600mm in length and 0.7mm in thickness. The air flows both in the thin glass panel and in the porous PE-plate surface were modeled and analyzed, from which a working condition was estimated. The thin glass panel on the porous PE-plate surface with self-lubricating characteristics was investigated and compared with that on the square duct floating bar surface with many holes of 1mm diameter when the thin glass panel contacts the floating bar surface due to malfunction of electric power supply.

This paper focuses on the research of the anode and cathode in the Ni-MH secondary battery. In this paper, the proposed method employs a continuous wave Nd : YAG laser based on the pure Ni instead of the low carbon steel to improve the conductivity although the conventional secondary battery is based on the resistance spot welded with low carbon steel SS41. It welds a sandwich panel using the pure Ni and the porous thin plate, and the tested optimal conditions for the laser power and irradiation speed were 300 and 350 Watt, and 1.0~1.6m/min, respectively. Finally, we observed a ratio, heat input and cross-section and measured the conductivity of the welding section to test the weldability.
The use of high tensile steel plates is increasing in the fabrication of ship and offshore structures. The main portion of ship structure is usually composed of stiffened plates. In these structures, plate buckling is one of the most important design criteria and buckling load may usually be obtained as an eigenvalue solution of the governing equations for the plate. To use the high tensile steel plate effectively, its thickness may become thin so that the occurrence of buckling is inevitable and design allowing plate buckling may be necessary. When the panel elastic buckling is allowed, it is necessary to get precise understandings about the post-buckling behaviour of thin plates. It is well known that a thin flat plate undergoes secondary buckling after initial buckling took place and the deflection of the initial buckling mode was developed. From this point of view, this paper discusses the post-buckling behaviour of thin plates under thrust including the secondary buckling phenomenon. Series of elastic large deflection analyses were performed on rectangular plates with aspect ratio 3.6 using the analytical method and the FEM.
Free vibration analysis of super-elliptical composite thin plates was investigated. Plate is formed by symmetrical quasi-isotropic laminates. Rayleigh-Ritz method was used for parametric analysis based on the governing differential equations of Classical Laminated Plate Theory (CLPT). Simply supported and clamped boundary conditions at the periphery of plates were considered. Parametric study was performed for the effect of different lamination type, aspect ratio, thickness and super-elliptical power on natural frequencies. Convergence study and validation of isotropic case were achieved. A number of design parameters like different dimensions, structure systems, panel sizes, panel thicknesses, lamination sequences, boundary conditions and loading conditions must be considered in the production of composite ships. The number of possible combinations practically may be so high that a parametric study should be carried out in order to determine the optimum design parameters rapidly during the preliminary design stage. The use of Rayleigh-Ritz method could make this parametric study possible. Thereby it might be decreasing the consumption of time, material and labor. Certain results for some different super-elliptical powers presented in tabulated form in Appendix for designers as well.
Transparent ac-PDP test panel was prepared via a combination of materials including ITO sustaining electrodes, thin film dielectric layer and nano-sized phosphor powders. The thin film dielectric layer was prepared by E-beam evaporation process and phosphor layer was deposited on metal mesh pattern by electrophoretic deposition process. The optical transmittance and luminance of the panel indicated that full color transparent ac-PDP is feasible with the approach.

When the vibration of the thin panel by exciting single point is used to radiate sound, the inherent vibration characteristic of the plate itself causes influence on the radiated sound. A conventional panel speaker system usually uses the single or double point excitations for generating the sound through the panel itself. The radiated sound can be easily distorted due to the modal characteristics of the plate so it is difficult to expect sufficient sound power or high radiation efficiency. In this paper, to achieve an immersive sound field, the multiple speaker zones on a thin panel are created with the limited number of actuators. The designated vibration field which can generates directional sound is realized by employing the vibro-acoustic inverse rendering methods. Actuators are arranged from the positions which have the advantage of implementing with multi-modal excitations. The location and number of actuators are compared with the location and number of controllable speaker zones by conducting numerical simulations.
This study presents that effect of anchor plate on concrete breakout strength was evaluated. The addition of the anchor plate is to improve the concrete breakout capacity for a single anchor system in a thin-walled concrete panel (Insulated concrete sandwich wall panel). In this study, an elasticity-based simplified model was developed and used to predict effect on the anchor plate. Flexural stresses of the plate with respect to the concrete breakout strength obtained from CCD (Capacity Concrete Design) approach were compared with the test results. Through the test results, while the concrete breakout strength was improved due to increment of the width and thickness of the anchor plate, improvement of the strength was steadily declined. In addition, the It was observed that the analytical and experimental flexure of the anchor plate was comparatively in good agreement using the simplified elastic analysis model.

Thin plate correction of forming process that it is nowadays smile change of simple contact surface as it becomes possible that forecast dictionary numerically exactly to analyze comparative big comp displacement real industry spot problems between complicated and abnormal curved line shapes and thin plate and die more reliable and need many efforts yet economical analysis method is required and develops this efficient algorithm. This research analyzes correction of forming and examined possibility and validity of spot application using One-Step Finite Element Method. Its application is being increased especially in the automotive industrial area for the cost reduction, weight saving, and improvement of strength.
