Scoliosis is defined as a condition in which the spine curves more than 10 degrees in frontal plane. However, it is complicated because it involves transverse and sagittal components as well as the frontal plane. Curvature can progress to growing children and cause serious problems. Treatments of Scoliosis, including observation, are casting, braces, physical therapy, exercise, and surgery. The goal of scoliosis management is to achieve minimal asymmetry by maintaining low angle values. However, it is difficult for adolescents to receive continuous treatment due to study and lack of time. We report cases of scoliosis that have experienced improvement of Cobb's angle through spinal thermal massage management at home.
Epilepsy surgery that eliminates the epileptogenic focus or disconnects the epileptic network has the potential to significantly improve seizure control in patients with medically intractable epilepsy. Magnetic resonance-guided laser interstitial thermal therapy (MRgLITT) has been an established option for epilepsy surgery since the US Food and Drug Administration cleared the use of MRgLITT in neurosurgery in 2007. MRgLITT is an ablative stereotactic procedure utilizing heat that is converted from laser energy, and the temperature of the tissue is monitored in real-time by MR thermography. Real-time quantitative thermal monitoring enables titration of laser energy for cellular injury, and it also estimates the extent of tissue damage. MRgLITT is applicable for lesion ablation in cases that the epileptogenic foci are localized and/or deep-seated such as in the mesial temporal lobe epilepsy and hypothalamic hamartoma. Seizure-free outcomes after MRgLITT are comparable to those of open surgery in well-selected patients such as those with mesial temporal sclerosis. Particularly in patients with hypothalamic hamartoma. In addition, MRgLITT can also be applied to ablate multiple discrete lesions of focal cortical dysplasia and tuberous sclerosis complex without the need for multiple craniotomies, as well as disconnection surgery such as corpus callosotomy. Careful planning of the target, the optimal trajectory of the laser probe, and the appropriate parameters for energy delivery are paramount to improve the seizure outcome and to reduce the complication caused by the thermal damage to the surrounding critical structures.
Background: This study was performed to evaluate the effects of Thermal stimulation combined virtual reality training (TV) on improvement of upper extremity AROM and function in patient with chronic stroke. Design: Two groups pre-post randomized controlled design. Methods: A single-blind, randomized controlled trial was conducted with 30 chronic stroke patients. They were randomly allocated two groups; the TV group (n=15) and Virtual Reality training group (VT) (n=15). The TV group received treatment for 30 min - 15 min of Thermal stimulation, and 15 min of VR training. The VT group received 15 min of VR training. Each group performed 30 minutes a day 3 times a week for 8 weeks. The primary outcome upper extremity AROM and function were measured by a active range of motion test, Manual Function Test (MFT) and Jebsen-Taylor hand function Test (JTT). The upper extremity active range of motion was evaluated using a digital dual inclinometer. MFT and JTT were used to evaluate the hand function. The measurement were performed before and after the 8 weeks intervention period. Results: Both groups demonstrated significant improvement of outcome in muscle strength and upper extremity function during intervention period. TV group revealed significant differences in AROM and upper extremity function as compared to the VT groups (p<.05). Our results showed that TV was more effective on upper extremity AROM and function in patients with chronic stroke. Conclusion: Both groups demonstrated significant improvement of outcome in muscle strength and upper extremity function during intervention period. TV group revealed significant differences in AROM and upper extremity function as compared to the VT groups (p<.05). Our results showed that TV was more effective on upper extremity AROM and function in patients with chronic stroke.
The purpose of this study was to assess the vascular changes after thermophysical therapies using ice pack and ultrasound, investgate the mechanism of peripheral vasodilation by sympathetic nerve, and to observe the effects of the ergotamine to the thermophysical therapy. The author had used 16 healthy rabbits which were divided into 2 groups : with and without administration of ergotamine. Experimental animals were sacrificed 5, 10, 20 minutes after experiment, and were examined with gross and stereoscope of resin casting blood vessel models. The results were as follows : 1. Vasodilation was not remarkably found in the group with administration of egrotamine after thermophysical therapy. 2. Vasodilation was remarkably found in the group without administration of ergotamine after thermophysical therapy. 3. Vasodilation was increased in the group without administration of ergotamine, but not remarkably found in the group with administration of ergotamine in lapse of time 4. Thermophysical therapy was most effective to arterioles. Our data suggest that the dilation of peripheral blood vessels from thermophysical therapy was controlled by sympathetic nerve, because the blood vessels did not changed after administration of ergotamines which was a sympathetic nerve blocker.

Purpose: Cold hypersensitivity is regarded to be associated with blood circulation. This study is aims to evaluate the effects and safety of oxygen chamber therapy on cold hypersensitivity by comparing the temperature and Visual Analogue Scale. Methods: 42 outpatients who visited ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$ University Oriental Hospital from July 11th, 2013 to August 28th, 2013 were analyzed. Patients were subjected to thermometer, and those with thermal difference greater than $0.3^{\circ}C$ between upper arm and palm and also with more than VAS 4 of cold hypersensitivity were diagnosed with cold hypersensitivity. 42 outpatients diagnosed with cold hypersensitivity are divided into two groups, one is the experimental group consisted of 21 patients and other was control group consisted of 21 patients. The experimental group had oxygen chamber therapy 10 times for 4 weeks. Thereafter the effects of oxygen chamber therapy on cold hypersensitivity was analyzed with t-text using SPSS for Windows version 21. Results: After the oxygen chamber therapy, experimental group had considerable improvement on cold hypersensitivity, in consequence of decreasing rate of thermal difference and VAS of cold hypersensitivity. Ear deafness and hand numbness were reported as an adverse effects in experimental group, but there was no serious adverse effects. Conclusions: This clinical trial showed oxygen chamber therapy could be effective and safe to reduce cold hypersensitivity.

Far-infrared radiation therapies are becoming more popular for blood circulation disorders, cardiovascular disease, skin diseases, inhibit cancer cell, etc replacing conventional operations. In this research, thermal characteristics of heating part in panel radiators, which is effective on the blood circulation disorders were experimentally analyzed. The heating line supplies heat energy to insulation coatings with heat flux of $150mW/m^2$ in normal status and as a result the coatings reached 20% of the heating line temperature. In other words, the insulation itself could increase surface temperature of heating plates by 20% and raise thermal time constant promote blood circulation effect. We also found that space arrangement of the heating lines was an important factor in designing heating parts and both coefficient of heat conduction and density of the heating plate should be also considered for superimpose of thermal diffusion.
The main experiments was investigated the skin tissue damage changing for the skin bum having influence on the skin and the liver and also observed the radical liver weight, ALT in the serum, the fluctuating of AST for the skin bum causing to the liver damage. Anatomically the edema formation of skin after thermal injury was showed, and skin bum increased liver weight (% of body weight, p<0.05) and the activity of serum aniline aminotrasferase (p<0.05), and also histologically induced wes of epidermal layer, protein degeneration of connective tissue, local hemorrhage and degeneration of glandular epithelium in the skin tissue. Liver tissue showed the evidences of postbum damage, they were sinusoidal dilatation, cell swelling, infiltration of inflammatory cells.
The electromagnetic agent used in physical therapy rely far their effects on tissue heating and photo reaction of the body, Infrared has a thermal and analgesic effect, Ultra violet produces direct photo chemical reaction when it interacts with the body. Laser has broad effect on medicine, Ten ding Diancibo Pu (TDP) is in the infrared ray. The wave range is 20,000-250,000, as a far infrared. The effects of the TDP are number of white and red blued cell, capacity of animal immunization activity of enzyme in the organ and blood sugar density.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between effects of TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) and IFC(Interferrential Current Therapy) to the change of body surface temperature. Cases are 22 normal persons and 22 patients with low back pain. Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging system was used for the detection of body surface temperature. 50Hz in frequency and 25-35mA in intensity were applied to TENS and IFC, 15 and 10 minutes on each. The results were follows ; 1. TENS and IFC has on effect of decreasing surface temperature, which would be from cardiovascular factors. (P<0.001) 2. The influence of IFC to the body surface temperature is greater than TENS, and it seems to be vasoconstriction of sympathetic activity. 3. There were no significant differences of body surface temperature between the two groups before and after electrical stimulation.
