집중권 방식 영구자석 동기전동기의 냉각특성 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study for Improving a Thermal Performance of Liquid Cooled Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine with Concentrated Winding)

  • This paper presents a thermal analysis of an interior PM synchronous machine with concentrated winding for electric vehicle. The conventional thermal equivalent network model has been used for a long time for calculation of the temperature rises in electrical machines. In spite of being popular, this method can not be applied correctly for elements with complicated cooling structure like liquid cooled housing. To overcome this drawbacks, in this paper, a hybrid thermal model using the result of CFD analysis partly. Using this method, to improve a thermal performance of PMSM with concentrated winding, the effects of two design parameters are analysed. Finally, the accuracy of this model has been verified by experiments for the developed 21kW motor.

  • This paper deals with the characteristic and thermal analysis of brushless motors for Rack assist type Electric Power Steering(REPS). The performance of permanent magnet is under the influence of temperature. To predict the motor performance, the thermal analysis is necessary. The equivalent thermal network is composed of the thermal resistance and the temperature of major parts is calculated according to the operating condition.

  • This paper introduces a 3MW embedded Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator(PMSG) for wind turbine. The generator features 313mm stator inner radius and 974mm stator length. The blade rotor angular velocity is 15.7 rpm and the gear ratio is set to be 92.93. The nominal generator rpm at rated load is about 1459. The number of poles is six and embedded in the generator rotor. Embedded permanent magnet excitation shows higher reliability, and better efficiency. Using the finite element method, electromagnetic and thermal results are simulated by ANSYS and the results are summarized in this report.

  • Magnetic anomaly generated around a ship is mainly due to the permanent magnetization(PM) and induced magnetization (IM) remaining on the hull. It is very difficult to predict the direction and its magnitude of the permanent magnetization distributed over the hull, that is caused by mechanical or thermal stress. In this paper, an effective method is proposed to separate two components, the one produced by PM and the other by IM, from the underwater earth field signal distorted by the ferromagnetic material of the ship. The method can easily provide the two kinds of magnetic anomaly through exploiting experimental results and 3D electromagnetic field analyses even though the PM distribution on the hull is not known. To validate the proposed method, a model ship is manufactured and tested. The results would be of much help to basis research for securing safe navigation of a ship against dangerous factors in underwater.

  • Surface Permanent-Magnetic-Synchronous-Generator (SPMSG) discussed in the present study has operational characteristics such as high rotational speed over 1,000 rpm and centrifugal force of 12 kN·m for each magnet. Structure-development analysis for the minimization of rotor-core weights and the maximization of thermal emission is performed by applying the aluminum-laminated cap which combines the advantages of IPM and SPM in order to overcome the difficulty that attaching the magnet to rotor-core only with an adhesive. In this study, the simulations in terms of structure and electromagnetic were performed with the variable parameters such as shape and thickness of laminated-cap and division method of magnet. As a result, condition for minimized centrifugal force with minimum loss is derived.

  • Nowadays, Interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) which having high power density is much used for the vehicles. However, IPMSM causes a lot of losses because of high-speed driving and high current density, and temperature rising by iron loss and copper loss could reduce torque characteristics and durability of IPMSM. Therefore, analysis about thermal characteristics of IPMSM is required at design stage. In this paper, temperature characteristics according to current vector control method were analyzed through calculate thermal equivalent circuit. And calculated results were verified through comparing with the experiments.

  • Air-conditioning system by ocean thermal energy has been developed in the areas of Europe, North America and Japan because there are abundant amount of thermal energy potential in the ocean and permanent free use for the thermal energy using the air-conditioning system. In the case of domestic ocean thermal energy resource, ocean thermal energy potential exists about 27,155Tcal/year and totally 20,285Tcal/year of possible thermal energy use by heat pump, which are reported from the survey of the 7 domestic near shore cities. Present study is aimed to survey the current development status of domestic and overseas air-conditioning system by ocean thermal energy, especially, for the air-conditioning facility technologies using sea water.

  • Recently, the interior permanent synchronous motor (IPMSM) has been applied to an integrated starter and generator (ISG) for hybrid electric vehicles. In the design of such a motor, thermal analysis is necessary to maximize the power density because the loss is proportional to the power of a motor. Therefore, a cooling device as a heat sink is required internally. Generally, a cooling system designed with a water jacket structure is widely used for electric motors because it has advantages of simple structure and cooling effectiveness. An effective approach to analyze an electric machine with a water jacket is a thermal equivalent network. This network is composed of thermal resistance, a heat source, and thermal capacitance that consider the conduction, convection, and radiation. In particular, modeling of the cooling channel in a network is challenging owing to the flow of the coolant. In this paper, temperature prediction using a thermal equivalent network is performed in an ISG that has a water cooled system. Then, an experiment is conducted to verify the thermal equivalent network.

  • 본 연구에서는 철도차량용 추진시스템에 매입형 영구자석 동기전동기(IPMSM)를 적용하기 위하여 110kW급 고출력밀도 IPMSM을 집중권/분포권 모델로 각각 설계하였다. 집중권 모델은 6극 9슬롯 구조이고, 분포권 모델은 6극 36슬롯 구조이다. 일반적으로 IPMSM의 영구자석에서의 와전류 손실은 슬롯 고조파에 의해 발생된다. IPMSM의 고속 회전 시 와전류 손실에 의한 영구자석의 열적 감자현상은 특히 집중권 IPMSM에서 주요 문제가 된다. 영구자석에서의 와전류 손실을 줄이는 설계는 고속 운전을 필요로 하는 철도차량 추진시스템용 IPMSM 설계에 있어서 중요하다. 그러므로 본 논문에서는 영구자석에서의 와전류 손실을 줄이기 위하여 영구자석을 분할하는 방법을 제안한다. 저자는 영구자석의 분할 개수를 변화시면서 IPMSM 집중권 모델의 영구자석에서 발생되는 와전류 손실의 변화 특성을 분석한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 영구자석 동기전동기의 특정 운행조건 중 발생하는 열 발생량에 대해, 열등가회로를 이용하여 정상상태 열 해석을 수행하였다. 최근 전동기는 소형, 경량화되며 극한 운행조건에서도 고출력 밀도를 견뎌야 한다. 특히, IPMSM 의 코일과 영구자석에서 발생하는 과도한 열은 전동기의 출력을 감소시키고, 전동기의 수명에 악영향을 끼치기 때문에 설계단계에서 IPMSM 의 열 해석이 중요하다. 그러므로, 본 연구에서는 열등가회로를 이용하여 IPMSM 의 설계변수 변화에 따라 정상상태 열 해석을 진행하였다. 변화된 설계변수는 하우징의 축방향 길이 그리고 하우징 두께이다. 마지막으로 열등가회로를 이용한 열 해석 결과와 유한요소법을 이용한 열 해석 결과를 비교하고, 열 해석 결과에 정확성과 신뢰성을 확인하고자 한다.
