In Korea, drones, which are at the core of the 4th industrial revolution, are used to promote Korean New Deal policies to digitalize the SOC. Overseas, the use of convergence sensors, such as thermal imaging cameras, on drones is increasing in various industrial fields. In this research, to improve pavement quality in highway bridge pavement construction, a thermal imaging camera was mounted on a drone to measure and verify the temperature of the pavement work section. Using a laser thermometer allows the partial measurement of pavement temperature. It was confirmed that the proposed method allows not only real-time temperature monitoring of the whole pavement work section but also uniformity verification by checking temperature distribution. The proposed method has the potential to control highway pavement quality and enable quick decision-making on traffic opening times by reducing the possibility of misjudging road opening times(pavement surface temperature ≦ 40℃).
In this paper, we propose an intelligent camera for multiple body temperature detection. The proposed camera is composed of optical(4056*3040) and thermal(640*480), which detects abnormal symptoms by analyzing a person's facial expression and body temperature from the acquired image. The optical and thermal imaging cameras are operated simultaneously and detect an object in the optical image, in which the facial region and expression analysis are calculated from the object. Additionally, the calculated coordinate values from the optical image facial region are applied to the thermal image, also the maximum temperature is measured from the region and displayed on the screen. Abnormal symptom detection is determined by using the analyzed three facial expressions(neutral, happy, sadness) and body temperature values. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed camera, the optical image processing part is tested on Caltech, WIDER FACE, and CK+ datasets for three algorithms(object detection, facial region detection, and expression analysis). Experimental results have shown 91%, 91%, and 84% accuracy scores each.

In this paper, we designed a coaxial dual camera incorporating two optical systems-one for the visible rays and the other for far-infrared ones-with the aim of capturing images in both wavelength ranges. The far-infrared system, which uses an uncooled detector, has a sensor array of 640×480 pixels. The visible ray system has 1,945×1,097 pixels. The coaxial dual optical system was designed using a hot mirror beam splitter to minimize heat transfer caused by infrared rays in the visible ray optical system. The optimization process revealed that the final version of the dual camera system reached more than 90% of the fusion performance between two separate images from dual systems. Multiple rigorous testing processes confirmed that the coaxial dual camera we designed demonstrates meaningful design efficiency and improved image conformity degree compared to existing dual cameras.

IGRINS (Immersion GRating INfrared Spectrometer) is a high resolution wide-band infrared spectrograph developed by Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI) and the University of Texas at Austin (UT). The slit-viewing camera is one of four re-imaging optics in IGRINS including the input relay optics and the H- and K- band spectrograph cameras. Consisting of five lenses and one Ks-band filter, the slit viewing camera relays the infrared image of $2'{\times}2'$ field around the slit to the detector focal plane. Since IGRINS is a cryogenic instrument, the lens barrel is designed to be optimized at the operating temperature of 130 K. The barrel design also aims to achieve easy alignment and assembly. We use radial springs and axial springs to support lenses and lens spacers against the gravity and thermal contraction. Total weight of the lens barrel is estimated to be 1.2 kg. Results from structural analysis are presented.

In this paper, a real-time implementation of scene-based non-uniformity correction by digital technique is proposed for microscan-mode staring infrared cameras. Most scene-based non-uniformity correction algorithms, without sensor motion, can not be applied to stationary scenes because of image blurring and fading. Using microscanning effect, coupled with a modified version of Scribner's algorithm, the proposed technique can correct the artifacts and non-uniformities in real time Computer simulations and hardware experiments demonstrate substantial Improvement of image qualities in stationary as well as moving scenes.
This study discusses a hypothetical method for tracking the propagation damage of Carbon Reinforced Fiber Plastic (CRFP) components underneath vibration fatigue. The High Cycle Fatigue (HCF) behavior of composite materials was generally not as severe as this of admixture alloys. Each fissure initiation in metal alloys may quickly lead to the opposite. The HCF behavior of composite materials is usually an extended state of continuous degradation between resin and fibers. The increase is that any layer-to-layer contact conditions during delamination opening will cause a dynamic complex response, which may be non-linear and dependent on temperature. Usually resulted from major deformations, it could be properly surveyed by a non-contact investigation system. Here, this article discusses the scanning laser application of that vibrometer to track the propagation damage of CRFP components underneath fatigue vibration loading. Thus, the study purpose is to demonstrate that the investigation method can implement systematically a series of hypothetical means and dynamic characteristics. The application of the relaxation method based on numerical simulation in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Evolved Bat (EB) strategy to reduce the dynamic response is proved by numerical simulation. Thermal imaging cameras are also measurement parts of the chain and provide information in qualitative about the temperature location of the evolution and hot spots of damage.
Infrared radiation (IR) refers to the region of the electromagnetic radiation spectrum where wavelengths range from about 700 nm to 1 mm. Any object with a temperature above absolute zero (0 K) radiates in the infrared region, and a material that transmits radiant energy in the range of 0.74 to 1.4 um is referred to as a near-infrared optical material. Germanate-based glass is attracting attention as a glass material for infrared optical lenses because of its simple manufacturing process. With the recent development of the glass molding press (GMP) process, thermal imaging cameras using oxide-based infrared lenses can be easily mass-produced, expanding their uses. To improve the mechanical and optical properties of commercial materials consisting of ternary systems, germanate-based heavy metal oxide glasses were prepared using a melt-cooling method. The fabricated samples were evaluated for thermal, structural, and optical properties using DSC, XRD, and XRF, respectively. To derive a composition with high glass stability for lens applications, ZnO and Sb2O3 were substituted at 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4 mol%. The glass with 1 mol% added Sb2O3 was confirmed to have the optimal conditions, with an optical transmittance of 80 % or more, a glass transition temperature of 660 ℃, a refractive index of 1.810, and a Vickers hardness of 558. The possibility of its application as an alternative infrared lens material to existing commercial materials capable of GMP processing was confirmed.
Satellite cameras are calibrated before launch in detail and in general, but it cannot be guaranteed that the geometry is not changing during launch and caused by thermal influence of the sun in the orbit. Modem satellite imaging systems are based on CCD-line sensors. Because of the required high sampling rate the length of used CCD-lines is limited. For reaching a sufficient swath width, some CCD-lines are combined to a longer virtual CCD-line. The images generated by the individual CCD-lines do overlap slightly and so they can be shifted in x- and y-direction in relation to a chosen reference image just based on tie points. For the alignment and difference in scale, control points are required. The resulting virtual image has only negligible errors in areas with very large difference in height caused by the difference in the location of the projection centers. Color images can be related to the joint panchromatic scenes just based on tie points. Pan-sharpened images may show only small color shifts in very mountainous areas and for moving objects. The direct sensor orientation has to be calibrated based on control points. Discrepancies in horizontal shift can only be separated from attitude discrepancies with a good three-dimensional control point distribution. For such a calibration a program based on geometric reconstruction of the sensor orientation is required. The approximations by 3D-affine transformation or direct linear transformation (DL n cannot be used. These methods do have also disadvantages for standard sensor orientation. The image orientation by geometric reconstruction can be improved by self calibration with additional parameters for the analysis and compensation of remaining systematic effects for example caused by a not linear CCD-line. The determined sensor geometry can be used for the generation? of rational polynomial coefficients, describing the sensor geometry by relations of polynomials of the ground coordinates X, Y and Z.

A quantitative flow visualization technique was developed to measure velocity and temperature fields simultaneously in a two-dimensional cross section of thermo-fluid flows. Thermochromic liquid crystal(TLC) particles are used as temperature sensor and velocity tracers. Illuminating a thermo-fluid flow with a thin sheet of white light, the reflected colors from the TLC particles in the flow were captured simultaneously by two CCD cameras; a 3-chip CCD color camera for temperature field measurement and a black and white CCD camera for velocity field measurement. Variations of temperature field were measured by using a HSI true color image processing system and TLC solution. The relationship between the hue values of TLC color image and real temperature was obtained and this calibration curve was used to measure the true temperature under the same camera and illumination condition. The velocity field was obtained by using a 2-frame PTV technique using the concept of match-probability to track true velocity vectors from two consecutive image frames. These two techniques were applied at the same time to the unsteady thermal-fluid flow in a Hele-Shaw cell to measure the temperature and velocity field simultaneously and some results are discussed.
The non-contact body temperature measurement system is one of the key factors, which is manage febrile diseases in mass facilities using optical and thermal imaging cameras. Conventional systems can only be used for simple body temperature measurement in the face area, because it is used only a deep learning-based face detection algorithm. So, there is a limit to detecting abnormal symptoms of the infants and young children, who have difficulty expressing their opinions. This paper proposes an improved facial expression recognition algorithm for detecting abnormal symptoms in infants and young children. The proposed method uses an object detection model to detect infants and young children in an image, then It acquires the coordinates of the eyes, nose, and mouth, which are key elements of facial expression recognition. Finally, facial expression recognition is performed by applying a selective sharpening filter based on the obtained coordinates. According to the experimental results, the proposed algorithm improved by 2.52%, 1.12%, and 2.29%, respectively, for the three expressions of neutral, happy, and sad in the UTK dataset.
