고온 급속열처리에 의한 이온빔 증착 W/GaAs의 구조 및 전기적 특성 (Stuructural and Electrical Characteristics of Ion Beam Deposited Tungsten/GaAs by High Temperature Rapid Thermal Annealing)

  • In this study, ion beam deposited tungsten thin film for gate material of GaAs SAGFET(Self Aligned Gate FET) was annealed from 800\ulcorner to 900\ulcorner using RTA and detailed investigations of structural and electrical characteristics of this film were carried out using four-point probe, XRD, SEM, AES and current-voltage measurement. Investigated results showed phase of as deposited tungsten film was fine grain \ulcornerphase and phase tdransformation of this film into \ulcornerphase occured at annealing condition of 900\ulcorner, 6sec. But regardless of phase transformation, electrical characteristics of tungsten film were very stable to 900\ulcorner and in case of 900\ulcorner, 4sec annealing condition Schottky barrier height obtained from 10 diodes measurements was 0.66 + 0.003 eV.

Sintering Properties of Hydroxyapatite Derived from Tuna Bone

  • Hydroxyapatite (HA) ceramic was prepared using tuna bone powders and was characterized on properties of sintered samples. The aim was to prepare dense and bulk HA sintered suitable for clinical applications. Thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction analysis, microscopic observation, and mechanical evaluation were applied to characterize sintered HA to find optimum processing condition. The major phase of sintered HA was observed up to 1300$\^{C}$ and $\beta$-TCP was observed as temperature increased. The density of sintered HA was increased up to 1350$\^{C}$ and decreased with further increasing temperature. The flexural strength of sintered HA at 1350$\^{C}$ showed 58 MPa as the highest value in this work. The results suggest that the crystal phase and transformation characteristics of HA prepared from tuna bone are the same as the behavior of HA powders made by chemical synthesis.

  • 시차열곡선에서 Pyrolusite $({\beta}-MnO_2)$의 결정 전이의 흡열 Peak를 이용하여 분석 화학적인 재현성을 검토한 결과 Pyrolusite의 량이 50mg∼450mg까지는 정량적이었다. ${\alpha}-MnO_2$는 흡열 Peak가 중첩되어 파의 분리가 불가능하였으며, ${\gamma}-MnO_2$(전해이산화망간)와 ${\delta}-MnO_2$는 오차 범위 ${\pm}5{\%}{\sim}{\pm}10{\%}$이내에서 조제시료중 Pyrolusite만을 정량할 수 있다.

CTBA Tubular Beam의 열간 성형해석 및 실험 (Hot Stamping Simulations and Experiments for CTBA Tubular Beams)

  • For an accurate analysis of hot stamping, a coupled simulation with different aspects of the process(i.e. mechanical, thermal, and phase transformation) is needed. However, coupled simulations are time consuming and costly. Therefore, the current study proposes a simplified method focused on the forming for the hot stamping simulation of a coupled torsion beam axle (CTBA) tubular beam. In this simplified method, non-isothermal conditions were assumed and only conduction was considered, since it represents the majority of the heat transfer during hot stamping. In addition, temperature and strain rate effects were also included. Moreover, an isothermal simulation was conducted and compared with a non-isothermal simulation. Finally, the simulations were verified by experiments. In conclusion, the proposed method is shown to be effective for the development of tube-type parts, and it effectively predicts the deformation of the tubular beam during hot stamping.

  • HAZ (Heat Affected Zone) which occurs during welding thermal cycle has an important effect on the mechanical properties of the weld metal. So there were many efforts to develop the model which is able to predict the microstructure and mechanical properties in weld HAZ and lots of metallurgical models have reported since early 1940. These models are justifiable based on the reasonable assumption and analytical approach, but they also have limitation by interesting alloying system and assumption in each literature. Therefore, this study summaries the previous models for prediction of properties in weld HAZ. Then several issues to solve for developing the more reliable model were proposed.

Nb-25 at%Al 혼합분말의 기계적 합금화 거동 (Alloying Behavior of Nb-25 at%Al Powder Mixtures by Mechanical Alloying)

  • To investigate the phase transformation behaviors of mechanically alloyed Nb-25 at%Al powders, the mixed Nb-25 at%Al powders were mechanically alloyed in SPEX 8000 Mixer/Mill. Mechanical alloying(MA) time was varied between 0.5 hour and 72 hours. The phase formation behaviors of these mechanically alloyed powders were examined using X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM), and differential thermal analysis(DTA). Appreciable amorphization started from 6 hours of MA. The powders mechanically alloyed for 10 hours were in almost amorphous phase. DTA results showed that the powders mechanically alloyed for 12 hours had a strong exothermic peak about$600^{\circ}C$, whereas the powders mechanically alloyed for 6 hours had two exothermic peaks. The first peak was found to be due to the stress relief effect and the second one due to the formation of$Nb_{3}Al,Nb_{2}Al and Nb_{2}C$phases by crystallization.

CVD법으로 합성된 알루미나 박막 및 분말의 열처리에 따른 특성 (Properties of the Chemically Vapor Deposited Alumina Thin Film and Powder on Heat Treatment)

  • A study on the APCVD(atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition) Al2O3 was done by using the aluminum-tri-isopropoxide/N2 reaction system at 40$0^{\circ}C$. When the flow rate of the carrier gas(N2) was over 2SLPM, heterogeneous reaction was observed. However, when the flow rate of the carrier gas was below 2SLPM, a porously deposited film or powder formation was observed. The film formed by a heterogeneous reaction was optically dense. The dense film is thought to be a kind of a hydrated alumina. After a thermal treatment of the film in the range of temperature from $600^{\circ}C$ to 1, 20$0^{\circ}C$, properties of the film seems to be changed due to dehydration and densification process. In the case of the powder on heat treatment(600~1, 20$0^{\circ}C$), both a phase transformation and the change of OH peak was observed.

  • EL(electro luminescent)은 밝기가 균일하고, 대면적화가 용이하고 플렉시블화가 가능한 소자로 활용될 수 있다는 장점을 가지고 있다. 특히 최근에는 휴대폰의 슬림화추세로 key pad용 백라이트 광원으로 빌리 사용되고 있다. EL 에 사용되는 형광체 파우더인 ZnS는 여러 종류의 dopant를 첨가 합성하여 여러 가지 컬러를 구현할 수 있다. ZnS모체는 적절한 온도조건에서 열처리하면, 첨가된 dopant가 아닌 자체결함에 기인하는 발광이 나타난다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 ZnS 모체파우더에 인위적으로 열처리 온도를 변화시켜가면서, 그에 따른 상변화를 관찰하였다. 또한 상변화로 따른 PL특성을 관찰하였다.

  • A Helmholtz free energy for a martensitic transformation of a single crystalline shape-memory alloy is obtained by a micromechanical approach, 24 variants of the single crystal are taken into account. In the framework of irreversible thermodynamics, a kinetic relation, a martensitic nucleation criterion and the reorientation criterion of martensitic variants are obtained. These relations are valid for a three-dimensional proportional or non-proportional mechanical loading or a combination of mechanical and thermal loading. Reorientation behavior of a single crystalline shape-memory alloy CuZnAl is simulated. When a tensile load is applied to a thermally-induced martensite, 24 self-accommodated martensitic variants are reoriented to the most favorable variant. In the following unloading, the most favorable variant in the tensile load is reoriented to the most favorable variant in this loading condition.

Preparation of Flexible Terpolymers using Various Metallocene Catalyst/Borate Cocatalyst System and their Epoxidation

  • In this study, flexible poly(ethylene-ter-1-hexene-ter-divinylbenzene) was prepared using four types of metallocene catalysts (rac-Et(Ind)2ZrCl2, rac-SiMe2(Ind)2ZrCl2, rac-SiMe2(2-Me-Ind)2ZrCl2, (C5Me5)TiCl2[O-2,6-iPr2(C6H3)]) and two types of borate catalysts (trityl tetrakisborate and dimethylanilinium tetrakisborate). The yield, catalytic activity, molecular weight, structure, composition, and thermal properties of the terpolymers prepared using the various catalysts and cocatalyst systems were evaluated. Epoxidation of the terpolymers was successfully performed and this transformation was studied by 1H NMR and FTIR.
