  • Recently advanced countries are making every effort to promote the efficiency of electric power production and supply, to deal with the environmental problems, and to develop the new energy. In particular, they are driving forward to develop various technologies for electric power in mid-long term, that are technology for building infrastructure of power transportation, establishing service network for account management using electronic technologies, elevating economic productivity by innovative electronic technologies, control-ling the discharge of global warming gas, using clean efficient energy, and so forth. However, power technology of Korea lagged behind than technology of advanced countries. Also, resources for developing power technology are limited in our country. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the efficiency of R&D investment. For it, our country must compare and analyze with technologies of advanced countries which are taking competitive advantage in the main future energy. Through comparative analysis, limited R&D resources of our country must be concentrated on technologies that can secure competitive advantage from now on.

  • The low temperature sintering of dolomite type borates, $CaZr(BO_3)_2$[CZB] ceramics and their microwave dielectric properties were investigated The sintering temperature of CZB ceramics could be reduced from $1150^{\circ}C$ to $925^{\circ}C$ by the addition of sintering additive. $CaZrO_3$, $ZrO_2$ and $CaB_2O_4$ second phases were found in the CZB ceramics. The syntheses, sintering properties, microstructures, and dielectricnproperties of dolomite-type borates were examined by XRD, thermal analysis, electron microscopy, network analyzer, and the results are discussed intensively. The compatibility with silver electrode was also explored.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the potential application of TERRA-ASTER data in Thailand. ASTER VNIR, SWIR and TIR data covering greater Bangkok and Chiangmai province were processed with various techniques in the spatial domain to study the applicability to various disciplines. ASTER data was also combined with other satellite data in order to utilize multi-sensor methods. It was found that VNIR data can clearly identify urban pattern including road network and vegetation index. While SWIR and TIR data can well separate between urban and non urban area and TIR data can differentiate among thermal surfaces. Furthermore, dense urban areas such as central business area could be highlighted. Land utilization, vegetable distribution and differences of temperature distribution were investigated.

  • For replacing Li metal ai Lithium ton Bakery(LIB) system. we used carbon powder material which prepared by pyrolysis of phenol resin as starting material. It became amorphous carbon by pyrolysis through it\`s self condensation by thermal treatment. Amorphous carbon can be doped with Li intercalation and deintercalation because it has wide interlayer. however it has a problem with structural destroy causing weak carbon-carbon bond. So. we used ZnCl$_2$ as the pore-forming agent. This inorganic salt used together with the resin serves not only as the pore-forming agent to form open pores, which grow Into a three-dimensional network structure in the cured material, foul also as the microstructure-controlling agent to form a loose structure dope with bulky dopants. We analyzed SEM in order to find to different of structure. and can calculate distance of interlayer. CV test showed oxidation and reduction

  • This paper analyse a operating characteristics when the Community Energy System (CES) is operated islanding mode. In the near future, CES might be one of major energy supply structures. The basic concept of CES is that it supplies electrical and thermal energy to the local customer loads through the islanded power network separated from the grid. The CES must be supplying local load with stable energy on the islanding mode, analysing necessary to thoroughly the operation feature. In order to show them, in this paper, we model the CES with 2.34 MVA DG and simulate the operating feature on the islanding mode of CES. The simulation results show that, in order to stability operate, the CES need the efficient load management and generation control schemes during the transition periods.

  • Two kinds of second-order nonlinear optical copolymers were prepared by the copolymerization of the vinyl monomers containing NLO chromophore, methacrylic acid, and methyl methacrylate or butyl methacrylate. Glass transition temperatures (Tg of copolymers were around 130 ℃. The copolymers were soluble in common organic solvents such as tetrahydrofuran (THF), cyclohexanone, and N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF). The crosslinked copolymer was obtained by thermal treatment using pentaerythritol tetrakis(2-mercaptoacetate) as a crosslinker and became insoluble in tetrahydrofuran (THF) and N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF). Poling was carried out at 120 ℃ for 20 min and identified with UV-Vis spectroscopy. Electro-optic coefficient (r33) measurement showed a value of 35 pm/V for polymer 2 at 633 nm. Temporal stability of copolymers was improved owing to the crosslinked network, which was successfully obtained at 170 ℃ for 30 min after poling.

  • This study suggests a simple economic model to analyze electricity grid that consists of different power sources. The substitutability of renewable energy for nuclear power in Korean electricity transmission network is investigated by suggested model. The monthly data from January 2006 to December 2013 reported by Electricity Power Statistics Information System (EPSIS) of Korea Power EXchange (KPX) are used. To estimate the elasticities of substitution among four power sources (i.e. coal, natural gas, nuclear power, and renewable energy), this paper uses the trans-log cost function model on which local concavity restrictions are imposed. The estimated Hicks-Allen and Morishima elasticity of substitution shows that renewable electricity and nuclear power are complementary. The results also evidenced that renewable electricity and fossil fueled thermal power generation are substitutes.

  • The purpose of the work is to develop a simple solar irradiance prediction model using a deep learning method, the LSTM (long term short term memory). Other than existing prediction models, the proposed one uses only the cloudiness among the information forecasted from the national meterological forecast center. The future cloudiness is generally announced with four categories and for three-hour intervals. In this work, a daily irradiance pattern is used as an input vector to the LSTM together with that cloudiness information. The proposed model showed an error of 5% for learning and 30% for prediction. This level of error has lower influence on the load prediction in typical building cases.

  • Silicon and carbon composite (SiC) is considered one of the most promising anode materials for the commercialization of Si-based anodes, as it could simultaneously satisfy the high theoretical capacity of Si and the high electronic conductivity of carbon. However, SiC active material undergoes repeated volumetric changes during charge/discharge processes, leading to continuous electrolyte decomposition and capacity fading, which is still considered an issue that needs to be addressed. To solve this issue, we suggest a 4,4'-Methylenebis(cyclohexyl isocyanate) (H12MDI)-based waterborne polyurethane binder (HPUD), which forms a 3D network structure through thermal cross-linking reaction. The cross-linked HPUD (denoted as CHPU) was prepared using an epoxy ring-opening reaction of the cross-linker, triglycidyl isocyanurate (TGIC), via simple thermal treatment during the SiC anode drying process. The SiC anode with the CHPU binder, which exhibited superior mechanical and adhesion properties, not only demonstrated excellent rate and cycling performance but also alleviated the volume expansion of the SiC anode. This work implies that eco-friendly binders with cross-linked structures could be utilized for various Si-based anodes.
