Environmental Friendly Characteristics of CRM Asphalt Concrete and Optimal Mixing Ratio (CRM 아스팔트의 최적 혼합비와 환경친화적 특성)

  • The asphalt mixture with CRM(Crumb Rubber Modifier) is known to show a better performance in resisting thermal cracking, fatigue cracking and rutting compared with the conventional mixture. The laboratory tests on the physical characteristics of indirect tensile strength, density, flow and Marshall value of the CRM asphalt were conducted. The test results show that CRM asphalt has better physical characteristics than that of conventional asphalts. And the analysis on the noise reduction effect, penetration capacity from the field test on the national road in Haksan of Chungbuk, and recycling of tire waste were conducted. From this study, the results show that 1% CRM asphalt has higher the noise reduction effect and penetration capacity that those of conventional asphalts. And, optimal contents of crumb rubber modifier in the asphalt binder is one percent. In this case, crumb rubber modifier were used 10 kg to make the asphalt binder of one cubic meter. So it was named as Eco-asphalt.

  • The service life of tools in metal forming process is to a large extent limited by wear, fatigue fracture and plastic deformation. In elevated temperature forming processes wear is the predominant factor for tool operating life. To predict tool life by wear Achard's model is generally applied. Usually hardness of die is considered to be a function of temperature. But hardness of die is a function of not only tem-perature but also operating time of die. To consider softening of die by repeated operation it is necessary to express hardness of die by a function of a function of temperature and time. By experiment of reheating of die softening curve was obtained and applied to suggest modified Archard's Model in which hardness is a function of main tempering curve.

  • PZT thin films(3500 ) have been prepared onto $Pt/Ti/SiO_2/Si$ substrates with a RF magnetron sputtering system using PB1.05(Zr0.52,Ti0.48)O3 ceramic target. We used two-step annealing techniques. As the RTA times and temperatures were increased, crystallization of PZT thin films were enhanced. The ferroelectric characteristics of PZT capacitors fabricated at $700^{\circ}C$ for 60 seconds were like these remanent polarization were $12.1 \muC/cm^2$, coercive field were 110 kV/cm, leakage current density were $4.1\times10-7 A/cm^2,\; \varepsilonr=442,$ and remanent polarization were decreased by 22% after 1010 cycles, respectively.

  • 현재 자동차 검사 또는 정비 현장에서는 특정 삼원촉매변환기가 요구 내구 수명을 제대로 만족시키지 못하여 파손되는 사례가 발생되고 있다. 이러한 삼원촉매장치의 경우 배기가스 변환 효율이나 압력강하 등은 엔진 효율 측면에서 만족되지만 열적 내구성은 만족되지 못한다. 본 연구에서는 열유동 해석 및 구조 해석을 통하여 국내 승용차용 삼원촉매 변환기의 대한 열적 안전성에 대하여 검토하였다.

  • The present study was aimed at analysing the damage of a used gas turbine bucket after 39,500h of total service. Microstructures and cracks of service-induced bucket were observed. The crack might have initiated from the coating in the bucket surface by thermal fatigue and propagated into the GTD111 base metal. Maximum depth of penetration was 2.7 mm(full penetration) at the leading edge. Crack contains a lot of Cr-,Ti-,Al-oxide which will prohibit filling and wetting of insert metal. Depth and propagation direction of crack were accorded with centrifugal force and temperature distribution in turbine bucket. Present result will provide basic data for repair bonding process.

  • Analytical and experimental studies have been performed to investigate the strength of the membrane and the reaction force at the anchor point. Using nonlinear FEM code and experiments, the stress analysis of the corrugated membrane related the cryogenic liquid pressure and thermal loading is performed to ensure the stability and fatigue strength of the membrane. This paper reports on the FEM results of membrane.

  • This study deals with the characteristic of refrigerant for heat-treatment deformation control of SCM415 steel. The control of heat-treatment deformation must need the progress of production parts for an industry machine. Most of the deformation is occurred on unequal cooling. The unequal cooling is occurred by a property of quenching refrigeration. When a heated metal is deposited in the refrigeration, the cooling speed is so slow in early period of cooling because of occurring a steam-curtain. After more cooling, the steam-curtain is destroyed. In this progress, the cooling speed is very fast. The object of this study is to control the deformation of heat-treatment for the part of the industry machine by improving the conditions of quenching. The cooling curves and cooling rates of water, oil and polymer solution are obtained and illustrated. From the characteristics of the quenching refrigerant, the effects of heat-treatments on the thermal deformation and fatigue strength are also investigated.

  • There are two kinds of the design criteria of piping system in petrochemical plant design. The first is on static state evaluation by thermal growth and the other is on dynamic evaluation by piping vibration. In the static design evaluation, the ASME B31.3 code defines 7000 cycles of fatigue life in operating the piping system with design condition. However, the dynamic design evaluation in comparative with small displacements of high frequencies to static condition has not established clearly the method, yet. So, this study purposes to present the trial of a proposal of dynamic design criterion on the basis of static design method.

  • We have investigated the ferroelectric properties of multi-layered SrBi$_2$Ta$_2$$O_{9}$Pb(Zr,Ti)O$_3$, SBT/PZT, thin film capacitors. Specimens were prepared onto Pt-coated Si wafer by sol-gel method. Ferroelectric properties of these finns could be obtained only for thin SBT layers below 50nm in thickness. The values of dielectric constant and remnant polarization depend mainly on the thickness of SBT layer, which arises from the paraelectric interface layer between SBT and PZT due to the thermal diffusion of Pb. The value of remnant poarization of PZT/SBT is greater than that of SBT, and the plarization fatigue behaviors of PZT/SBT/Pt capacitors are somewhat improved as compared with those of PZT/Pt.t.

  • Marine diesel engine production and refinements sought a continuous increase on mean effective pressure and thermal efficiency. These results in increased maximum combustion pressure within the cylinder and vibratory torque in crankshaft. As such, crankshaft should be designed and compacted within its fatigue strength. In this paper, the 8H25/33P(3,155ps 900rpm) engine for ship propulsion was selected as a case study, and the strength analysis of its crankshaft is carried out by: simplified method recommended by IACS M53 and a detailed method with the crankshaft assumed as a continuous beam and bearing supported in its flexibility. The results of these two methods are compared with each other.
