  • Although aspiration towards quality of life and holistic health has been growing faster in our modern society and the affordance of health in built environment has been more acknowledged, there has been hardly any development on built environment planning and design theory that can be comfortably and confidently used in creating built environment to promote holistic health. Thereby, this study sets out to experimently formulate a composite theory that explains the relationship between health and built environment. The main methodology of this study is literature review and analysis. Theories that have been applied in other similar fields were chosen to be analyzed by health related perspectives and graft those theories onto holistic health viewpoints to compose a comprehensive theory. Selected theories that were considered useful to be analyzed were Lawton's Environment Press Theory, Carp & Carp's Complementary & Congruence Theory, Valins' Activity-based Design Criteria Theory, Atchley's Continuity Theory, Murtha & Lee's User Benefit Criteria Theory, and Alexander's Pattern Language Theory. Characteristics of these theories were compared by their abstractness and concreteness, and the range of application, and analyzed by a holistic health perspective. Then, these theories were comprehensively structuralized and synthesized as a built environment for health theory. This study has its significance in providing a base to develop healthy built environment research further as it introduced a conceptual framework which explains spatial elements in the health functionality point of view.

  • Objects : Recent taste theory has been advanced to the receptor and cell of taste. We tried to apply the taste theory to the Kimi theory (氣味論) of 『ShinNongBonChoKyung (神農本草經)』 for the purpose of resonance between the Kimi theory and the taste theory. Methods : The special issues in Current Opinion in Physiology of the year 2021 gave us much information. Based on it, we have searched for more papers using google scholars with the key words; taste, taste receptor, sweet, umami, bitter, salty, sour. Then, we analyzed and compared the Kimi theory of 『ShinNong BonChoKyung)』 with the research papers of physiological taste. Results : Three classification of the herbs in 『ShinNongBonChoKyung』 is very reasonable based on the Taste theory. There is umami and no spicy in the taste theory, and Sweet includes umami in the Kimi theory. Taste is such a complex and connective sensory reaction of the brain and body of human being. There are much more results to couple the Kimi with the taste theory. Conclusions : The pharmacological property of Kimi theory of 『ShinNongBonCho Kyung』 will help the taste theory much more develop and expand. In addition to qi(氣), the Kimi theory will also find a way to be in harmony with modern pharmacology in the respective of taste(味) with the help of taste theory.

  • This literature review was undertaken to explore theoretical models of depression for their potential usefulness in nursing research and practice. Depression has bean accounted for by numerous theories or models of causation ; 11 theories selected from psychology, medicine and psychoanalysis and supported by empirical or experimental research were reviewed. These theories identify a variety of precipitating and predisposing factors that may affect the individual's depression. Aggression - turned - inward theory, object loss theory, ego functioning theory, personality organization theory, behavioral theory, learned helplessness theory, cognitive theory, genetic factors, and biological theories conceptualize predisposing factors. Only life stressors theory identifies precipitating facotrs. Each of these theories contributes to an understanding of depression, but many of them use overlapping and interrelated factors. It is also evident from recent. research that there are multiple causes for depression involving an interactive effect among predisposing and precipitating factors that are both biological and psychological in origin. That is, a single theory is not useful, but perhaps a unified theory could be developed that would be helpful to nursing. This review points to the need for continuing development and testing of theories that would integrate the multiple conceptualizations of depression.

  • A free vibration analysis is made of a moderately-thick toroidal shell based on a shear deformation (Timoshenko-Mindlin) shell theory. This work represents an extension of earlier work by the authors which was based on a thin (Kirchoff-Love) shell theory. The analysis uses a modal approach in the circumferential direction, and numerical results are found using the differential quadrature method (DQM). The analysis is first developed for a shell of revolution of arbitrary meridian, and then specialized to a complete circular toroidal shell. A second analysis, based on the three-dimensional theory of elasticity, is presented to cover thick shells. The shear deformation theory is validated by comparing calculated results with previously published results for fifteen cases, found using thin shell theory, moderately-thick shell theory, and the theory of elasticity. Consistent agreement is observed in the comparison of different results. New frequency results are then given for moderately-thick and thick toroidal shells, considered to be completely free. The results indicate the usefulness of the shear deformation theory in determining natural frequencies for toroidal shells.

He, Together with Yi Hyeon Il(1627-1704), carried out a systematic study of Toekye's Interpretation of the "Four Buddings" and "Seven Feelings". In this paper, from a comparative point of view, The author studied Jung Sihan's Li-Qi Theory, Four-Seven Theory, Human Mind and Mind of the Dao. Although his theory of interpretation about Li-Qi Theory, Four-Seven Theory, is the tendency of compromise Toegye and Yulgok's thought, but from the master and servant and upper and lower relationship between Li-Qi and Four-Seven Theory, Jung Sihan preferred the thought of Toegye. • Seonya theory(宣夜說) was one of the most important metagalaxy model in the ancient times. Unlike the other important metagalaxy model, it had the concept that the sky is not in the solid state but is just the infinite space which is full of gi(氣). But Seonya theory, though it had partially the superb academic thought, it had gradually become the forgotten thing among scholars in the ancient times. Since then, once forgotten Seonya theory was reconstructed again in Song(宋) dynasty, and Jangjae(張載) did the main role at that time. In the historical sequence like this, we need to take notice of one thing that "Hwangjenaegyeong(黃帝內經)" had worked on Jangjae as the origin of his sunya theory. So we also need to take notice of one thing that "Hwangjenaegyeong" is just a rare document that comprises the academic thought of Seonya theory which had once been forgotten in ancient times. Based on the historical situation like this, this study is focused on the idea that the discuss on the Jangjae's Seonya theory would be a good way to think of the cosmic theory of "Hwangjenaegyeong" and the theoretical thought derived from them. So this study will first look into the academic characteristics of Seonya theory of ancient times and of "Hwangjenaegyeong" and through the study on the academic characteristics of Jangjae(張載)'s Seonya theory, will also think of the significance of the thought of Jangjae's Seonya theory that would be some help to the research on "Hwangjenaegyeong".

  • This work presents a static flexure analysis of laminated composite plates by utilizing a higher order shear deformation theory in which the stretching effect is incorporated. The axial displacement field utilizes sinusoidal function in terms of thickness coordinate to consider the transverse shear deformation influence. The cosine function in thickness coordinate is employed in transverse displacement to introduce the influence of transverse normal strain. The highlight of the present method is that, in addition to incorporating the thickness stretching effect (${\varepsilon}_z{\neq}0$), the displacement field is constructed with only 5 unknowns, as against 6 or more in other higher order shear and normal deformation theory. Governing equations of the present theory are determined by employing the principle of virtual work. The closed-form solutions of simply supported cross-ply and angle-ply laminated composite plates have been obtained using Navier solution. The numerical results of present method are compared with those of the classical plate theory (CPT), first order shear deformation theory (FSDT), higher order shear deformation theory (HSDT) of Reddy, higher order shear and normal deformation theory (HSNDT) and exact three dimensional elasticity theory wherever applicable. The results predicted by present theory are in good agreement with those of higher order shear deformation theory and the elasticity theory. It can be concluded that the proposed method is accurate and simple in solving the static bending response of laminated composite plates.

  • This study investigated commercial power theory of traditional market through the analysis of literature review. Consumers' store selection models are made up a theory based on normative hypothesis, theory of mutual reaction, utility function estimation model, and cognitive-behavioral model. Detailed models are as follows. Normative hypothesis based theory is divided into Reilly's retail gratification theory and Converse's revised retail g ratification theory. Interaction theory is composed of Huff's probability gratification theory, MCI model and Multi-nominal Logit Model (MNL model). There are four models in retail organization position theory such as central place theories, single store position theory, multi store position - assign model, and retail growth potential model. In case of single store position theory, theoretical and empirical techniques have developed for a decision to optimum single store position. Those are like these, a check list, the most simple and systematic method, analogy, and microanalysis technique. Aforementioned models are theoretical and mathematical commercial power measurement and/or model. The study has rather limitations because the variation factors included in formula are only a part of actual commercial power. Therefore, further study shall be made continuously to commercial power areas and variables.

  • An equivalent single layer trigonometric shear deformation theory taking into account transverse shear deformation effect as well as transverse normal strain effect is presented for static flexure of cross-ply laminated composite and sandwich plates. The inplane displacement field uses sinusoidal function in terms of thickness coordinate to include the transverse shear deformation effect. The cosine function in thickness coordinate is used in transverse displacement to include the effect of transverse normal strain. The kinematics of the present theory is much richer than those of the other higher order shear deformation theories, because if the trigonometric term (involving thickness coordinate z) is expanded in power series, the kinematics of higher order theories (which are usually obtained by power series in thickness coordinate z) are implicitly taken into account to good deal of extent. Governing equations and boundary conditions of the theory are obtained using the principle of virtual work. The closed-form solutions of simply supported cross-ply laminated composite and sandwich plates have been obtained. The results of present theory are compared with those of the classical plate theory (CPT), first order shear deformation theory (FSDT), higher order shear deformation theory (HSDT) of Reddy and exact three dimensional elasticity theory wherever applicable. The results predicted by present theory are in good agreement with those of higher order shear deformation theory and the elasticity theory.
