  • An enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) with two Novirhabdovirus antigens (viral hemorrhagic septicemia virus, VHSV and infectious hematopoietic necrosis virus, IHNV) was used to detect specific antibodies against VHSV from olive flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus) sera. In ELISA plates with VHSV culture supernatants (VHSV-Ag plate), optical density (OD) values for sera from olive flounder with VHS history (VHS sera) ranged from 0.64±0.36, and those of sera from fish without VHS history (non-VHS sera) ranged from 0.26±0.26. In IHNV-Ag plate, the OD values (0.43±0.28) for VHS sera were quite low compared to those in VHSV-Ag plates, while the OD values for non-VHS sera were almost similar. When the OD values for each serum were calculated by subtracting the OD values in the IHNV-Ag plate from those in the VHSV-Ag plate, the corrected OD values were significantly different between VHS sera and non-VHS sera. The results were completely in line with fish histories of VHS epizootics. It was considered that the corrected OD values may represent the true values recognized by VHSV-specific antibodies.

  • Recently, the concept of web site stickiness receives attention as a measure of strategy to influence user's visit and behavior on web sites. Web site stickiness means site visit frequency and stay duration. This study investigates the moderating effect of espoused national cultural values on Internet community stickiness with the assumption that dimensional values of national culture can be internalized as individual’s espoused values. Espoused values (i.e., espoused national cultural values) are defined as the degree to which an individual embraces the values of his or her national culture. Our findings can be summarized as follows. First, femininity and power distance moderate the influence of user participation on Internet community stickiness. Second, uncertainty avoidance and power distance moderates the effect of social influence on Internet community stickiness. However, femininity and collectivism do not moderate the effect of social influence on Internet community stickiness. Third, uncertainty avoidance, femininity, and collectivism moderate the influence of network effect on Internet community stickiness. Fourth, masculinity does not moderate the influence of usefulness on Internet community stickiness.

  • This study is to provide the basic sources to develop educational data that can establish ethical values with research on the interrelation between moral development and ethical values of nurses. The subjects of this study are the convenience sample from 111 nurses working in clinical settings from 5 general hospitals located in Pusan area. The questionnairs for this study are comprised two parts: Part 1 is SRM-SF(1995) guestionnaire, and translated by Kil, 1m Ju(1997): Part 2 is the guestion papers about the ethical values, and disigned by Jung, Hee Ja. The data were collected from June lth to 31th, 1997 and analyzed by S.A.S(Statistical Analysis System) Package for frequency, percent, and Pearson's correlation coefficient. The results of the study is as the followings: 1) According to the moral development. the nurses are in the levels of Stage3 or Transition3/4, which are generally focused on the personal relations or personality. Thus, nurses are considered to need to get the stage4 of education that helps them recognize a person as a member of society. a family as an unit of society, and human life as the values of human dignity. 2) According to the ethical values, nurses have the positive ethical values of respecting the right of the patients, providing information, keeping the secret, truth. and credit of patients. But they also experience some troubles by the patients to care and the clinical situation. Thus, to overcome the problems, nurses are considered to need to get the education that establishs the right ethical values. 3) The analysis result on the interrelation between moral development level and ethical values shows as r=0.28 and p=0.003. This indicates that the interrelation between them is low. In conclusion, it is considered that the moral development level is viewed broadly from a person and family to a society, and then it can affect to the ethical values positively.

  • The purpose of this study was to provide the basic sources for educational program that identifies moral judgement and ethical values of nursing students. The subjects consisted of 114 nursing students in college. Data were collected by the Korean Form of Moral Development Inventory(Shin, 1997) and Nursing Ethical Values(Lee, 1990) from March 5 to 21. 2002. The findings were as follows: 1. The mean score of the stage 5B was higher than the score of other stages. The mean score of P(%) was 39.15. No significant difference were found between P(%) and general characteristics. 2. The mean score of the nursing ethical values was 3.38. The nursing students took the position of deontology slightly. In nurse-colleague relationship area(4.22), the subjects should to taking evidently deontological position. 3. According to general characteristics, no significant difference was found except nurse-patient relationship area among subcategory of ethical values. The mean score of this area by influence person of moral development were significantly different at the .05 level. 4. The trend of subjects in action choices on 4 dilemmas of the DIT showed between-subjects variability. Action choices on 'Heinz and the drug', 'Doctor's dilemma', and 'webster' were 'pro' in most of subjects, whereas 'escaped prisoner' was 'con'. 5. The ethical values in human-life area associated with action choices on 'Heinz and the drug' was significantly different . And the nursing ethical values, human-life area, and nurse-nursing task relationship area were significantly different according to action choices on 'Doctor's dilemma'. 6. There was found little correlation between action choices on 4 dilemmas of the DIT and moral judgement. • The purpose of this study was to analyze the physical characteristic of the wheelchair users by directly measuring the disabled men who use a wheelchair and to classify body types. The subjects were 178 male wheelchair users 20-69 years range of age. The results of this study were as follows. The cause of disability was classified into four groups; Poliomyelitis(P), Spinal Cord Injury(S), Cerebral Palsy(C), Amputee(A). There was a remarkable difference in the physical characteristic of the wheelchair users due to their cause of disability. A have greater values in all the dimensions. P have the largest drop values and smaller values in the lower body dimensions. S have greater values in the height of upper body trunk, back interscye length, and chest circumference, whereas smaller values in waist front length and thigh circumference. C have smaller values in most body dimensions except circumference of lower limb. By the factor analysis on the anthropometric data came out the result to be eight factors. The result of cluster analysis using factor scores shows the body types of wheelchair users can be divided into four body types; PY, RBB, TBP, RA. PY type is short and has the largest drop values, whereas RBB type tends to have the smallest drop values. TBP type is tall and the torso tends to be larger than those of the other types. RA type has smaller values in front body dimensions and moderate values in other dimensions. The diversity in body types should be considered among the wheelchair users.

  • Environmental fate of ionizable organic pollutants such as perfluoroalkyl acids (PFAAs) are of increasing interest but has not been well understood because of uncertain values for parameters related with atmospheric interphase partitioning behavior. In the present study, not only the values for air-water partition coefficient (KAW) and dissociation constant (pKa) of PFAAs were induced by adjusting to in situ measurements of air-water distribution coefficient between vapor phase and rainwater but also gas-particle partition coefficients were also estimated using three-phase partitioning model of ionizable organic pollutants, in situ measurements of PFAAs in aerosol and air vapor phase, and obtained parameter values. The pKa values of PFAAs we obtained were close to the minimum values suggested in literature except for perfluorooctane sulfonic acids, and COSMOtherm-modeled KAW values were assessed to more appropriate among suggested values. When applying parameter values we obtained, it was predicted that air particle-associated fate and transport of PFAAs could be negligible and PFAAs could distribute ubiquitously along the transection from urban to rural region by pH-dependent phase transfer in air. Our study is expected to have some implications in prediction of the environmental redistribution of other ionizable organic compounds.

  • Adopting Internet of Things (IoT)-based technologies in smart homes helps users analyze home appliances electricity consumption for better overall cost monitoring. The IoT application like smart home system (SHS) could suffer from large missing values gaps due to several factors such as security attacks, sensor faults, or connection errors. In this paper, a novel framework has been proposed to predict large gaps of missing values from the SHS home appliances electricity consumption time-series datasets. The framework follows a series of steps to detect, predict and reconstruct the input time-series datasets of missing values. A hybrid convolutional neural network-long short term memory (CNN-LSTM) neural network used to forecast large missing values gaps. A comparative experiment has been conducted to evaluate the performance of hybrid CNN-LSTM with its single variant CNN and LSTM in forecasting missing values. The experimental results indicate a performance superiority of the CNN-LSTM model over the single CNN and LSTM neural networks.

  • Despite the recent emphasis on value research in mathematics education along with the significance of values from a new perspective, there has been a lack of research on the values perceived by teachers and students in Korea. This paper analyzes how fifth-grade students would perceive the values of a master teacher with expertise in elementary mathematics education after her teaching of mathematics and whether their values on mathematics learning would change. According to the study, the students recognized that the master teacher valued understanding, preview-review, picture, problem, and reason in mathematics learning. Among these, the value of understanding was perceived as the core value. An analysis of the students' values on general mathematics learning and personal mathematics learning showed that preview and review were the most important before and after the master teachers' teaching. An analysis of the changes in the values of students showed the greatest change in the value of understanding. Instead of accepting the values of the master teacher as it were, students actively reconstructed and maintained them. Based on these results, this paper has drawn implications regarding the consideration of students' values in mathematics learning.
