Several companies have migrated their existing monolithic web applications to microservice architectures. Consequently, research on the identification of microservices from monolithic web applications has been conducted. Meanwhile, the use-case model plays a crucial role in outlining the system's functionalities at a high level of abstraction, and studies have been conducted to identify microservices by utilizing this model. However, previous studies on microservice identification utilizing use-cases did not consider the components executed in the presentation layer. Unlike existing approaches, this paper proposes a technique that considers all three layers of web applications (presentation, business logic, and data access layers). Initially, the components used in the three layers of a web application are extracted by executing all the scenarios that constitute its use-cases. Thereafter, the usage rate of each component is determined for each use-case and the component is allocated to the use-case with the highest rate. Then, each use-case is realized as a microservice. To verify the proposed approach, microservice identification is performed using open-source web applications.
Purpose: The digital healthcare business is rapidly growing due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the medical service platform business based on smartphone apps is globally expanding. This study targeted medical information online to offline (O2O) platform users in the medical service field. It verified the effect relationship revealed in the continuous use intention of the platform with the mediation of platform quality components, namely perceived benefits, flow experience, and use satisfaction. Research design, data and methodology: Based on previous studies, three medical information O2O platform quality components, namely system quality, information quality, and service quality, were defined. And the questionnaire survey was carried out targeting 359 leading medical information O2O platform users in Korea. Results: As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that system quality and service quality had a positive (+) effect on satisfaction and continuous use intention with the mediation of perceived benefits and flow experience. Meanwhile, information quality had a negative effect (-) on perceived benefits and flow experience and did not affect use satisfaction and continuous use intention. Conclusions: Consequently, it was ascertained that the system quality and service quality affecting user behavior and experience were more significant factors than information quality to medical information O2O platform users from the medical service aspect.
An effective use of information and communications technology is thought of as critical for achieving corporate competitiveness. This study identifies patterns of corporate use of communications technology, and examines how the use of those technologies is associated with business strategies and the level of information intensity. A survey study on a sample of Korean corporations shows that the use of communications technology is closely related both to business strategy and information intensity, and that communications technologies can be divided into two types in terms of their usage pattern. The structured communication technology is found to be related to the tools and services that support structured tasks, and the The unstructured technology to the tools the use of which is less structured and more flexible. Cost-based strategy is found to be closely related to the use of structured communication technology, while differentiation strategy is closely related to the use of unstructured communication technology.
The purpose of this paper is to provide corpus-based quantitative analyses of HEART and HEAD in order to examine their actual usage status and to consider some cognitive linguistic aspects associated with their use. The two corpora COCA and COHA are used for analysis in this study. The analysis of COCA corpus reveals that the total frequency of HEAD is much higher than that of HEART, and that the figurative use of HEART (60%) is two times higher than its literal use (32%); by contrast, the figurative use of HEAD (41%) is a bit higher than its literal use (38%). Among all four genres, both lexemes occur most frequently in fictions and then in magazines. Over the past two centuries, the use of HEART has been steadily decreasing; by contrast, that the use of HEAD has been steadily increasing. It is assumed that the decreasing use of HEART has partially to do with the decrease in its figurative use and that the increasing use of HEAD is attributable to its diverse meanings, the increase of its lexical use, and the partial increase in its figurative use. The analysis of the collocation of verbs and adjectives preceding HEART and HEAD, as well the modifying and predicating forms of HEART and HEAD also provides some relevant information of the usage of the two lexemes. This paper showcases that the quantitative information helps understanding not only of the actual usage of the two lexemes but also of the cognitive forces working behind it.
The great flowing of information has brought a necessity for good management to make the best use of it in the highly competitive information age. The aims of this study are to investigate the main information sources - divided into largely three groups: literature sources, communication and information technology facilities), trying to find problem areas associated with IRM, indicating possible solutions. The result shows that internal information sources were regarded the most important and most frequently used. For the use of foreign materials, the higher the level of position is, the more people use them. With respect to communication methods, internal information sources were thought most important. With the dramatic falling of the price despite enormously increased functions, IT facilities are becoming important sources. However, the study reveals the use of them is quite limited to a few well-known facilities, which indicates that management should pay attention to more efficient use of them and useful training and education methods.
Purpose In this paper, among the four information vulnerable groups(disabled, elderly, low-income, farmers and fishermen), the mediating effect of digital device usage attitudes in the effect of digital information utilization level of farmers and fishermen with a large digital information gap with the general public on life satisfaction was verified. Design/methodology/approach This study summarizes existing research related to the digital information gap between farmers and fishermen, and the empirical analysis is based on hierarchical regression analysis based on the 2022 Digital Information Gap Report (survey data on 2,200 farmers and fishermen) published by the Korea Intelligence Information Society Promotion Agency. Among the four major information vulnerable groups (the disabled, the elderly, low-income groups, and farmers and fishermen), attitudes toward using digital devices were examined in terms of the impact of the level of digital information use on life satisfaction among farmers and fishermen, who have a relatively large digital information gap with the general public. It was verified as a mediating effect. Findings As a result of the empirical analysis, attitudes toward the use of digital devices were found to play a mediating role in the impact of the level of digital information use on life satisfaction.
This study reviews and modifies general IS success models to find success factors of WIS(Web-based Information Systems) and to confirm the relationship between WIS success and user's satisfaction of web use. A WISSM(Web-based Information Success Model extended to include EQ(E-Quality) is developed to anticipate user's intention to use Web-based Agricultural Information System and fit into the survey data from 252 WIS users of RDA(Rural Development Administration). PLS is applied to estimate a structural model based on EQ-WISSM to test hypotheses including 1) users reach a high level of intention to use Web-based Information Systems when they feel a high level of interactivity among an 'E-Quality', 'Decision Making Support Satisfaction' and 'Task Support Satisfaction', and E-Quality boosts intention to use Web-based Information Systems. The results show high path coefficients and $R^2$ values and find followings; First, the EQ-WISSM explains the user's intention to use WAIS quite well. Second, E-Quality can be used well in web-based IS environment to predict IS Success. Finally, this research finds the importance of 'Task Support Satisfaction' as a mediator between 'Decision Making Support Satisfaction', 'E-Quality' and 'Intention to Use'.
