  • The previous studies regarding the stock returns have advocated that industry effects exist over entire industry. As the industry categories are more rigid, the demand for predicting the industry sectors is rapidly increasing. The advances in Artificial Intelligence and Neural Networks suggest the feasibility of a valuable computational model for stock returns prediction. We propose a sector-factor model for predicting the return on industry stock index using neural networks. As a substitute for the traditional models, neural network model may be more accurate and effective alternative when the dynamics between the underlying industry features are not well known or when the industry specific asset pricing equation cannot be solved analytically. To assess the potential value of neural network model, we simulate the resulting network and show that the proposed model can be used successfully for banks and general construction industry. For comparison, we estimate models using traditional statistical method of multiple regression. To illustrate the practical relevance of neural network model, we apply it to the predictions of two industry stock indexes from 1980 to 1995.

  • Today many corporations converge clients' needs and IT technology, and then they are developing new service model in order to survive global situation. The changes of manufacturing industry from simple manufacture to industry for focus on services is getting speeded up, because not only growth of service part but also enlargement in creating value in services is expected. And services through collaboration with knowledge based service and only manufacturing industry is important. In this situation, this thesis is willing to propose methodology for Inter-Industry Collaboration Service Model. The proposed methodology includes procedures which develops service model, plans for Inter-Industry Collaboration Service Model and evaluating framework. Also, this applied case studies. I look forward to offering useful guideline on the proposed methodology in this study to corporations that try to create new service model through Inter-Industry Collaboration Service Model.

  • The purpose of this research is to develop an information technology (IT) usage level assessment model for service industry. It is necessary to develop an assessment model for service industry's IT usage to improve service productivity. However, it is not easy to develop assessment models due to service industry's diversity. In this paper a generic IT usage assessment model for service industry has been developed and validated through a descriptive approach. Key factors affecting service productivity have been identified and analysed. A pilot test on IT usage level has been performed to investigate the relevance and importance of IT usage indicators (factors). As a result, a set of effective IT usage indicators for service industry have been found. A short-cut model and a full scale model have been proposed for efficient and effective usage. The results of this study can be used for enhancement of service industry productivity through the increase of IT usage level.

  • The South Korean automotive industry has been the major producer for both domestic and international market. This rises of the South Korean automotive industry has resulted in combination various factors ranging from government policies and the foreign investment. The Double Helix model provides a comprehensive and useful framework to understand how these factors have interacted to shape the history of the auto industry of South Korea. This research aims to provide the history of the Auto Industry in Korea based on the Double Helix Model. To collect textual literature dataset, the present author tried to screen and select adequate prior studies in the past and current literature to achieve the purpose of the study. According to the literature analysis, the history of the automotive industry in South Korea is an interesting case in the successful implementation of the Double Helix model. The model emphasizes the collaboration between the government and the private sector in achieving common goals. This research founded the four historical events of the development of the South Korean automotive industry based on the Double Helix Models. In sum, the research concludes that the Double Helix Model is an essential tool for understanding the historical development of the auto industry in South Korea.

  • The purpose of this research is to go beyond the policy support of the traditional sixth industry and to build a business model of the farmers' business by establishing the business model of the establishment of the sixth industry utilizing agricultural products of individual farmers. First, we defined the business model of the 6th agricultural industry, and secondly set up two models via FGI based on the 9 block model of BMC (Business Model Canvas), and applied feasibility, cost appropriate, differentiation point Through the establishment of hard-working business, sales consolidation, consumer-centric model set. Third, using the Delphi method in each area of 9 Block, the final 21 components were set. Through this BMC model, it was shown that discrimination and accessibility are important factors in the 6th agricultural field foundation business model.

  • The service industry is becoming greater importance in the current economy. The service quality has become an important competitive factor in service industry. Until now, 6 sigma method has well accomplished in manufacturing industry. 6 sigma method has been applied to the service industry to improve service quality, but it has not been reported that 6 sigma method is a successful method for service industry to improve service quality. In this paper, we suggest a MAVIC model to improve service quality. It is a model which is combined with advantages of a SERVQUAL model and 6 sigma method. We has proved its effect with applying a MAVIC model to real service techniques.

  • Organizations in some industries are still hesitant to adopt the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system due to its high risk of failures. This study examined how industry classification affects the successful implementation of the ERP system. To achieve this goal, we reinvestigated the existing ERP Success Model that was developed by Chung with the data from various industry sectors, since Chung validated the model only in the engineering and construction industries. In order to test to see if the Chung model can be applicable outside the engineering and construction industries, the relationships between the ERP success indicators and the critical success factors in the Chung model and those in the sample data collected from ten different industry sectors were compared and investigated. The ten industry sectors were selected based on the Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS). We found that the impact of success factors on the success of implementing an ERP system varied across industry sectors. This means that the success of ERP system implementation can be industry-specific. Thus, industry classification should be considered as another factor to help IT decision makers or top-management avoid ERP system failures when they plan to implement a new ERP system.
