In clinic, it's very difficult to diagnose and treat a Taeyangin patient accurately. Taeyangin are rarer than other constitutions in number and there are few references in documents. Therefore, it will be helpful to understand Taeyangin if we accumulate their clinical cases. To that end, I introduce a case study concerning 3 persons. Among patients who have visited the Oriental Hospital of Dongguk University, these 3 persons were classified as Taeyangin and then their symptoms were reduced by Taeyangin treatment. Through reporting the case studies concerning these 3 persons - a male patient aged 14 complaining of feeling oppressed and dyspnea, a female patient aged 39 complaining of dyspepsia, feeling heavy in the head, and fatigue, and a male patient aged 23 complaining of acid regurgitation and nausea, I want to contribute to diagnosis and treatment in Taeyangin.

1. Objectives Yulkyuk is the interior syndrome of Taeyangin and it's chief symptom is dysphagia. Lee Je-Ma prescribed Mihudeungsikjang-tang for Taeyangin Yulkyuk. In this case we diagnosed a woman's chief complaints as Taeyangin Yulkyuk, prescribed Mihudeungsikjang-tang and experienced the effectiveness and reproduction of Mihudeungsikjang-tang against Yulkyuk. 2. Methods To treatment Taeyangin Yulkyuk we used Mihudeungsikjang-tang 3. Results Mihudeungsikjang-tang is effective against Taeyangin Yulkyuk and curled-up tongue, dry vomiting, dizziness are also the symptoms of Yulkyuk. 4. Conclusions We have many difficulties to diagnose and treatment Taeyangin constitution because there have been few clinical study about Taeyangin yet. Further study on Taeyangin constitution is more needed.

Purpose Because Taeyangin constitutions are very rare, There are few references about Taeyangin diseases. I suppose to gather basic materials on the case of a diagnosis and treatment on Taeyangin constitution patient. So I want to accomplish the theory of Taeyangin diseases. Methods I studied I patients with sequelae of CVA who were diagnosed by Taeyangin at department of Sasang constitutional Medicine in Kangnam Kyung Hee Oriental Hospital, and then I investigated the Ordinary symptoms as the diagnosis and treatment on a Taeyangin constitution Conclusion & Results To diagnose Taeyangin constitution, It is important to find out one's ordinary symptomes(especially appearance, personality, taste of food, existence of $y{\breve{u}}lk{\breve{u}}k{\cdot}haey{\breve{u}}k$, condition of urine and feces)

1. Objectives Taeyangin is more rare than other kinds of people of the Constitution in number. And there are few references on Taeyangin's diseases, symptoms, and characters. Therefore diagnosing and treating Taeyangin patients are very difficult. We think that out study might be helpful to make it easier to diagnose and treat Taeyangin. 2. Methods Among patients who have visited the Oriental Hospital of Dongguk University, four female patients were classified as Taeyangin. Their symptoms were lessened by treatment that is appropriate to Taeyangin. Thus, we report these four female patients' improvements of their conditions on stool, urine, infertility, menstruation, and skin. We looked over the other reports, in advance, to get more ideas on Taeyangin. 3. Results After treating four female patients with Taeyangin's treatment, we found out that it showed significant changes on stool and urine condition, and infertility, menstruation. After the treatment, urine came out very easily and bowel moved much better than before. Discharge from the womb also remarkably decreased. Even their skin turned out to be softer than before, which we did not expected. 4. Conclusions We obtained great results from treating four female patients with the Taeyangin's treatment. As there are few clinical studies on Taeyangin, more studies on Taeyangin will be needed so that we could get to know more on the mechanism of Tayangin's physiology. We can read the changes of urine and defecation after the Tayangin's treatment in the books written by Dongmu, and we can ascertain it through our study. But more study on Tayangin's physiology might be needed because we found out that the discharge from the womb or the condition of the skin was significantly improved after the treatment, which is not quite well revealed in the books written by Dongmu.

Objectives This paper was designed for studying the features of digestion according to Sasang Constitution and to be helpful to make a diagnosis Sasang Constitution. Using the result of this study, it will be helpful to diagnose a Sasang constitution. Methods There were 588 patients(248 men, 340 women) who answered questionnaire and were diagnosed by the Sasang Constitution Specialist at Constitutional Clinic of Dongguk Bundang Oriental Hospital. Using the response of questionnaire and several statistical techniques such as homogeneity test and multiple comparison, we tried to find the characteristics of each constitution depending on its dining behavior. Results As a result of the analysis of questionnaire, Taeumin and Soyangin answered to 'Because digestion is well, I overeat frequently' many more than Soeumin(p<0.01). Soeumin answered to 'When I eat cold food or greasy food, it hardly digests' many more than Taeumin(p<0.05). Soeumin and Taeyangin answered to 'Because I have indigestion, I have suffered from infancy' many more than Taeumin(p<0.01). Soeumin answered to 'I have easily a digestive upset' many more than Taeumin(p<0.01). Soeumin answered to 'indigestion in case of paying attention' many more than Taeumin and Soyangin(p<0.01).

Objectives : This paper was for studying the features of sleep according to Sasang Constitution and to be helpful to make a diagnosis Sasang Constitution. Using the result of this study, it will be helpful to diagnose a Sasang constitution. Methods : There were 610 patients(258 men, 352 women) who answered questionnaire and were diagnosed by the Sasang Constitution Specialist at Constitutional Clinic of Dongguk Bundang Oriental Hospital. Using the response of questionnaire and several statistical techniques such as homogeneity test and multiple comparison, we tried to find the characteristics of each constitution depending on its sleep behaviors. 3. Results : As a result of the analysis of questionnaire, Soeumin has many dreams in comparison with other constitution(p<0.01). Taeumin and Soyangin have a few dream in comparison with Soeumin(p<0.01). Taeyangin has a characteristic that 'he is not drowsy comparatively, he awakes easily, he is not drowsy if it is cold, he is not drowsy and has many dreams if he has many stress.(p<0.01) Taeumin has a characteristics that 'he has a few dream in ordinary times'(p<0.01).

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to study the personality traits of Sasang constitutions by comparing the profiles of Temperament and Character Inventory (TCI) and Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ). Methods : A total of 110 healthy people (20 to 40 years old), except for 2 Taeyangin (TY type), were analyzed; 45 Taeeumin (TE type), 32 Soyangin (SY type), and 31 Soeumin (SE type). A Sasang constitutional medicine specialist diagnosed the Sasang constitution after analyzing the result of a Two Step Questionnaire for Sasang Constitution Diagnosis (TS-QSCD), the external appearance, temperament and symptoms. The dimensions of TCI and EPQ were compared among the different Sasang constitutions, using an analysis of variance, and correlations between TCI and EPQ were analyzed by a Pearson correlation method. Results : Among the four temperament dimensions of TCI, SY type showed a significantly higher score than the SE type in Novelty Seeking. SE type showed significantly higher score than TE and SY type in Harm Avoidance. SY type showed significantly higher score than SE type in Reward Dependence. TE and SY type showed significantly higher score than SE type in Persistence. There were no significant differences in the character dimensions of Self-directness, Cooperativeness and Self-Transcendence. Among the seven dimensions of EPQ, TE and SY type showed significantly higher score than SE type in Extraversion. SE type showed significantly higher score than SY type in Lie. SY type showed significantly higher score than TE and SE type in Impulsiveness. Conclusions : The results demonstrated that there are some significant differences of personality traits among Sasang constitutions. This could help diagnose and understand each Sasang constitution.

1. Purpose : The correct constitutional diagnosis and the accurate prescription are very important in clinical application of Sasang Constitutional Medicine. Lee Je-ma emphasized that symptom is the best clue to diagnose constitution in "DongYi Suse Bowon". After research the characteristics of each constitution's symptoms and the backgrounds of constitutional prescriptions, this paper is to know the correct clinical application of Sasang Constitutional Medicine. 2. Method : Through the clinical applications of "DongYi Soose Bowon" and "Dongyi Sasang Sinpeun", the characteristics of constitutional symptoms and the application of prescription were researched 3. Results & Conclusions 1) The symptoms of Sasang Constitutional Medicine were came from the Hyung-Sang Medicine(形象醫學) which were important to mind-body equally and from the summarizing spirit of four Qi such as Warm-Hot-Cool-Cold(溫熱凉寒) 2) The symptoms of Soeumin and Soyangin are the Cold-Hot symptoms of ingestive food(水穀) and the treatment of symptoms is to control the ascent-descent of up and down. The symptoms of Taeumin and Taeyangin are the Warm-Cool symptoms of Qi-Yack(氣液) and the treatment of symptom is to control the unfasten-fasten of interior and exterior. 3) The symptoms of Taeyangin are 'Weak Lower part and Firm Upper part symptom'(下虛上實病證) and 'Blood and Yack Exhasted Symptom'(血液俱耗病證), the symptoms of Soeumin are 'Fall Down Symptom'(下陷病證) and Stomach Cold Symptom(胃寒病證), the symptoms of taeumin is 'Dryness Fever Symptom'(燥熱病證) and 'Interior Fever Symptom'(燥熱病證), the symptoms of Soyangin is 'Fire Fever Symptom'(火熱病證) and 'Interior Fever Symptom'(燥熱病證). 4) The characteristics of sasang constitutional symptoms are the exterior-interior symptoms classified with nature-emotion and cool-hot, the inclusive control of exterior-interior symptoms with healthy energy, and the classification of ingestive food symptoms and Qi-Yack symptoms. 5) The characteristics to treat symptoms are the classification of seriousness and obedience, the use herbs according to each constitutions, and inclusive symptoms control.
