A problem of relevant interest to some industries is that of optimum two-dimensional layout. The objective of this work is to allocate the shapes on a sheet in such a way to minimize the amount of waste. A nesting software has been developed to help user arrange the 2D parts effectively. It provides various functions, e.g., transformation, distance-check, NC post-processor, etc. This software is developed in X window system with C langusge. Final goal of this software is generating NC code data of the 2D parts on the sheet that can be directly used in NC machines.
Nowadays major shipbuilding companies are trying to expand their business not only to shipbuilding but to offshore projects as well. DSME is one of them. DSME is trying to set up a flexible design and construction environment for shipbuilding and offshore construction in a single shipyard. The shipbuilding and offshore projects, however, have their unique technology but they need to be designed and constructed in one site. To support this new requirement, DSME has developed an integrated CAD system for ship and offshore projects. In this integrated design environment, the designers can design commercial ships and offshore projects in a flexible manner. Concurrent design is very important for ship and offshore design. As compared to the complexity of the product, the design period is quite short. In effect, the design system for the ship and offshore project has to support concurrent design. One essential point of concurrent design environment is a product model based design system. DSME has developed and implemented the 3D product model concurrent design environment based on Tribon M3. Tribon is a widely used CAD system in shipbuilding area that is developed by Tribon Solutions. DSME has both customized the Tribon system and developed in-house application systems to support its own design and production procedures. All the design objects are modeled in one common database to support concurrent design and accurate production. The major in-house development focused on the modeling automation and automatic drawing generation. During the drawing generation process many of the additional production information are also extracted from the 3D product model. In addition, several applications and functionalities have been developed to apply the shipbuilding based Tribon M3 system to offshore projects. The development of shape nesting, tubular connection, isometric drawing, grating nesting systems are the typical.
$CO_2$ is the most important trace gas related to climate change. Therefore, understanding surface carbon sources and sinks is important when seeking to estimate the impact of $CO_2$ on the environment and climate. CarbonTracker, developed by NOAA, is an inverse modeling system that estimates surface carbon fluxes using an ensemble Kalman filter with atmospheric $CO_2$ measurements as a constraint. In this study, to investigate the capability of CarbonTracker as an analysis tool for estimating surface carbon fluxes in Asia, an experiment with a nesting domain centered in Asia is performed. In general, the results show that setting a nesting domain centered in Asia region enables detailed estimations of surface carbon fluxes in Asia. From a rank histogram, the prior ensemble spread verified at observational sites located in Asia is well represented with a relatively flat rank histogram. The posterior flux in the Eurasian Boreal and Eurasian Temperate regions is well analyzed with proper seasonal cycles and amplitudes. On the other hand, in tropical regions of Asia, the posterior flux does not differ greatly from the prior flux due to fewer $CO_2$ observations. The root mean square error of the model $CO_2$ calculated by the posterior flux is less than the model $CO_2$ calculated by the prior flux, implying that CarbonTracker based on the ensemble Kalman filter works appropriately for the Asia region.

A multi-nesting grid storm surge model, Korea Ocean Research and Development Institute-Storm surge model, was calibrated to simulate storm surges. To check the performance of this storm surge model, a series of numerical experiments were explored including tidal calibration, the influence of the open boundary condition, the grid resolutions, and typhoon paths on the surge heights using the typhoon Maemi, which caused a severe coastal disasters in Sep. 2003. In this study the meteorological input data such as atmospheric pressure and wind fields were calculated using CE wind model. Total 11 tidal gauge station records with 1-minute interval data were compared with the model results and the storm surge heights were successfully simulated. The numerical experiments emphasized the importance of meteorological input and fine-mesh grid systems on the precise storm surge prediction. This storm surge model could be used as an operational storm surge prediction system after more intensive verification.

The ocean circulation was simulated in the East Sea and Ulleungdo-Dokdo region using ROMS (Regional Ocean Modeling System) model. By adopting the East Sea 3 km model and the HYCOM 9 km data, Ulleungdo 1 km model and Ulleungdo-Dokdo 300 m model were constructed with one-way grid nesting method. During the model development, a correction method was proposed for the distortion of the open boundary data which may be caused by the bathymetry data difference between the mother and child models and the interpolation/extrapolation method. Using this model, a super-high resolution ocean circulation with a horizontal resolution of 300 m near the Ulleungdo and Dokdo region was simulated for year 2018. In spite of applying the same conditions except for the initial and boundary data, the numerical models result indicated significantly different characteristics in the study area. Therefore, these results were compared and verified by using the surface current data estimated by satellites altimeter data and temperature data from NIFS (National Institute of Fisheries Science). They suggest that in general, the improvement of the one-way grid nesting with the HYCOM data on RMSE, Mean Bias, Pattern correlation and Vector correlation is greater in 300 m model than in the 1 km model. However, the nesting results of using East Sea 3 km model showed that simulations of the 1 km model were better than 300 m model. The models better resolved distinct ridge/trough structures of isotherms in the vertical sections of water temperature when using the higher horizontal resolution. Furthermore, Karman vortex street was simulated in Ulleungdo-Dokdo 300 m model due to the terrain effect of th islands that was not shown in the Ulleungdo 1 km model.

This paper describes some research works of computer-aided design of blanking and piercing for stator and rotor parts and irregularly shaped sheet metal by press. An approach to the system is based on knowledge based rules. The process planning system by considering a blank layout for nesting of irregularly shaped sheet metal and an improved strip layout for stator and rotor parts and irregularly shaped sheet metal is implemented. Using this system, design parameters(utilization ratio, slitting width, pitch, working order, die blank shapes) are determined and output is generated in graphic forms. Knowledges for blank layout and strip layout are extracted from the plasticity theories, handbooks, relevant references and empirical know-hows of experts in blanking companies. The implemented system provides powerful capabilities for process planning of stator and rotor parts and irregularly shaped sheet metal.
In mobile agent environments, migration of an agent occurs continuously due to the mobility of agents. So cascaded delegation can occur among places for delegating the privilege to execute the agent. Because the existing delegation scheme considers only the delegation between two places that participate in migration of an agent, it does not support secure cascaded delegation. In this paper, we propose a cascaded delegation scheme that provides agents with secure cascaded delegation in mobile agent environments. Depending on the trust-relationship among places, the proposed scheme achieves the goal by nesting each delegation token or by nesting only initial token signed by creator of the agent within the signed part of the next immediate delegation token. And we prove that the proposed scheme is secure against the attack of replaying a message and the attack of substituting a delegation token.
The ecology of house swallow is closely related to the humans life because their life depend on the human settlements conditions and environments. 30 years ago house swallows are very common at the country side, but recently they are very rare. Almost the number of house swallows decrease as 1 of hundredth during 20 years. Why this dramatic population decrease are happening in the ecology of house swallow? The Population size impacted by many factors such as nesting, breeding, feeding, returning. The objective of this paper is to analyse the population dynamics of the ecology of House Swallow. This paper focuses on the important ecological changes-nests, foods, and return rates from wintering area-associated with recent country side development. In this paper, we explore the feedback loops of population dynamics and simulate the policy scenario model.

In this paper, we present an RTOS named HEART (Highly Expandable AOP-based Real-Time operating system). It is modularized into a single base and multiple optional features. The base implements a core functionality and each feature implements a specific functionality of RTOS such as interrupt nesting, multithreading, inter-thread communication, and etc. Users can customize HEART just by selecting needed features. Then a specialized version of HEART is automatically generated. We argue that HEART enables the rapid construction of optimized and application-specific RTOSes for diverse embedded systems.
