  • Brad Bird, a screenwriter and animation director in the United States, criticized the situation in which most animations were produced and released for the children since the early 2000s. He said that animation is an art form capable of conveying messages not only to children but also to adults, and that their development potential is high. In this study, I analyzed overall components such as narrative structure, character, subplot, symbol, and foreshadow of Brad Bird's animated feature films , , and examined his narrative features and strategies. As a result, the narrative features of animation as an art form are as follows: First, conveying the message of a serious subject that will deeply sympathize with adults as well as children. Second, expressing the social agenda which criticizes the contradiction of the real world and the periodic mistakes. Third, solid narrative structure through a dense plot based on realistic situation setting. I hope that this study will be used as basic research material for various animation production in the future.

  • In our previous study, we showed that the peculiar globular cluster M22 contains two distinct stellar populations with different physical properties, having different chemical compositions, spatial distributions and kinematics. We proposed that M22 is most likely formed via a merger of two GCs with heterogeneous metallicities in a dwarf galaxy environment and accreted later to our Galaxy. In their recent study, Mucciarelli et al. claimed that M22 is a normal mono-metallic globular cluster without any perceptible metallicity spread among the two groups of stars, which challenges our results and those of others. We devise new strategies for the local thermodynamic equilibrium abundance analysis of red giant branch stars in globuar clusters and show there exists a spread in the iron abundance distribution in M22.

  • We investigated the chemical composition of the planetary host halo star HD47536 via high-resolution spectral observations recorded using a 1.5 meter Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory (CTIO) telescope (Chile). Furthermore, we determined the abundances of 38 chemical elements. Both light and heavy elements were overabundant compared to the iron group elements. The abundance pattern of HD47536 was similar to that of halo-type stars, with an enrichment of heavy elements. We analyzed the relationships between the relative abundances of chemical elements and their second ionization potentials and condensation temperatures. We demonstrated that the interplay of charge-exchange reactions owing to the accretion of interstellar matter and the gas-dust separation mechanism can influence the initial abundances and can be used to qualitatively explain the abundance patterns in the atmosphere of HD47536.

  • A large scatter of the chemical abundances among globular cluster red giants has been observed. Especially the chemical elements C, N, O, Na, Mg, and Al vary form star to star within globular clusters. Except for $\omega$ Cen and M22, most globular clusters could be considered to be monometallic of their iron peak elements within error ranges. The variations in light elements among globuar cluster giants appear much more pronounced than in field halo giants of comparable Fe-peak metallicity. It has been found that in general the nitrogen abundance is anticorrelated with both carbon and oxygen, while it is correlated with Na and AI. These intracluster abundance inhomogeneities can be interpreted either by mixing of nucleosythesized material from the deep stellar interior during the red giant branch phase of evolution or by inhomogeneities of primordially processed material, from which the stars were formed. The simple way of distingushing between two senarios is to obtain the element abundances of main-sequence stars in globular clusters, which are too faint for high resolution spectroscopic studies until now. Both 'evolutionary' and 'primodial' origins are accepted for explanations of abundance variations among red giants and CN-CH anticorrelations among main-sequence stars in globular clusters. This paper reviews chemical abundances of light elements among globular cluster giants, with brief reviews of cannonical stellar evolution of low mass stars after main-sequence and deep mixing for abundance variations of cluster giants, and a possible connection between deep mixing and second parameter.

  • Co-ferrite nanoparticles have been synthesized by the decomposition of iron(III) acetylacetonate, $Fe(acac)_3$ and Co acetylacetonate, $Co(acac)_2$ in benzyl/phenyl ether in the presence of oleic acid and oleyl amine at the refluxingtemperature of $295^{\circ}C$/$265^{\circ}C$ for 30 min. before cooling to room temperature. Particle diameter detected by PSA can be turned from 4 nm to 20 nm by seed-mediated growth and reaction conditions. Structural and magneticcharacterization of Co-ferrite were measured by use of HRTEM, SAED (selected area electron diffraction), XRD and SQUID. The as-synthesized Co-ferrite nanoparticles have a cubic spinel structure and coercivity of 20 nm $CoFe_{2}O_{4} nanoparticles reached 1 kOe at room temperature and 18 kOe at 10 K.

  • This research is aimed at finding out the ecological change of Seunghwanglim through the examination of vegetational change of tree seedlings of old giant trees growing at Seunghwanglim [Seunghwang Forest designated as a Natural Monument No.93] after the installation of protective iron fence. The survey results are as follows: First, as a result of keeping out people by installing a protective iron fence in 1989, soil hardness of the plane forest was greatly improved except the area used as roads. The seedlings of the plane forest, whose damage index is 2,3,4, were found to have the highest 1,202 $individuals/400m^2$, and those of the plane forest, whose damage index is 1, were revealed to have 565 $individuals/400m^2$, and those of the slope forest were found to have 403 $individuals/400m^2$. The number of the young sapling[taller than 2 meters] individuals of the plane forest whose damage index is 1 was found to be the most $48/400m^2$, and that of the plane forest whose damage index is 2, 3, 4- was $31/400m^2$, and that of the slope forest proved to be $14/400m^2$. In the plane forest whose damage index is 2, 3, 4, the saplings of the Ulmus davidiana var. japonica and Acer triflorum are relatively much distributed, and in the plane forest whose damage index is 1, many saplings of the Prunus padus and Styrax obassia, were found to grow and in the slope forest, many saplings of the Acer pictum subsp. mono and Acer pseudo-sieboldianum. were found to grow. Many seedlings of Rubus spp. - R. oldhamii, R. coreanus and R. crataegifolius. - and Akebia quinata were growing vigorously on plane forest, but they might decrease in number with the increasing number of the tree saplings.

  • The rock-carved seated Avalokiteśvara statue at Ganghwa Bomunsa Temple is a giant rock-carved Buddhist statue that was built in 1928 during the Japanese colonial era. Although it is a year-recorded Buddhist statue that occupies a prominent place in modern Korean Buddhist sculpture history, it has not been the subject of in-depth discussion due to weak research on modern Buddhist sculptures. In this study, to examine the various significant aspects of the rock-carved Seated Avalokiteśvara statue at Bomunsa Temple as a modern Buddhist sculpture, I have managed to determine its construction year, artificers, and patrons by deciphering the inscription around the rock-carved statue; in addition I have researched the effects of the rock shapes and landforms on the formation of the Buddhist statue by comparing and analyzing the points of view of both artificers and worshipers. I have also identified the specific circumstances of the time of construction from interviews with the descendants of artificers. A monk from Geumgangsan Mountain, Lee Hwaeung, took the role of sponsor and chief painter to construct the rock-carved seated Avalokiteśvara statue at Bomunsa temple. In the beginning of its construction in 1928, more than 100 donators jointly sponsored the construction of the statue. Gansong Jeon Hyoungphil sponsored alone at the time of the place of worship's expansion in 1938. Bomunsa Temple has been regarded as one of the top-three sacred places of Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva together with Naksansa Temple in Yang Yang and Boriam in Nam Hae, due to the construction of the rock-carved statue. It took about three months to construct the statue. Lee Hwaeung drew a rough sketch and then Un Songhag and five masons from Ganghwa Island took part in the carving process. We can observe the line drawing technique around the rock-carved statue because the statue was carved based on the rough sketch of the monk painter. The aspect of Lee Hwaeung as a painter is revealed; therefore, we can identify the clue of painting pattern leading to Seogongchulyou- Hwaunghyoungjin- Ilonghyegag. The rock-carved seated Avalokiteśvara statue at Bomunsa Temple is a typical Avalokiteśvara that wears a jeweled crown and holds Kundica. It makes a strong impression as it has a big square-shaped face and a short neck and is unsophisticated in general. The artificers solved the issue of visual distortion of the rock-carved statue caused by carving on a 10-meter high and 40-degree sloping rock by controlling motion to its maximum, omitting detailed expression by emphasizing symmetry, and adjusting the head-to-body proportion to be almost one-to-one. In this study, especially, I presume the unified form of sacred sculptures and Buddhist altars, without making a Buddhist altar like the rock-carved seated Avalokiteśvara statue at Bomunsa Temple, to be a key characteristic of modern Buddhist sculptures. Furthermore, I make newly clear that the six letters of Sanskrit carved on nimbus, which had been interpreted as a Six-Syllable Mantra, are a combination with Jeongbeopgye and Sabang Mantras. In addition, three iron rings driven on eaves rock were used as a reference point, and after construction they were used as a decoration for the Bodhisattva with hanging wind chimes.
