In order to study the effect of strain states on the formation of shear textures during rolling in fcc metals, the evolution of textures was simulated by the full constrain model using various ideal strain states. Considering rolling as a two-dimensional problem, i.e., $\varepsilon_{22}\;=\;\varepsilon_{12}\;=\;\varepsilon_{23}\;=\;0$, the deviation from the plane-strain state manifest itself as nonzero contribution of $\varepsilon_{13}$. With increasing variations of $\varepsilon_{13}$, shear textures develop. The sign of ell hardly affects the evolution of textures. The texture simulation with various idealized strain states indicates that the ratio $\mid\varepsilon_{13}\mid/\mid\varepsilon_{11}\mid$ in each time interval in a roll gap plays a dominant role in the evolution of textures during rolling.
Effects of the anisotrpy due to the initial textures in the plane sheet on plane strain punch stretching has been investigated. In this study, the anisotropy from textures in the sheet is incoporated into the finite element process model by combining the theory of crstal plasticity. Three different textures such as random texture, plane strain compression texture and cube texture are considered. Variations of puch loads as well as thickness distributions of the sheets with three different initial textures are investigated.
The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of structural properties of plain knit fabrics on the subjective textures and sensibilities of consumers. We investigated the relationship of subjective textures and sensibilities according to fiber contents of wool/rayon and stitch loop length. We made 20 plain knit fabrics, as specimens, with a combination of 5 kinds of fiber contents and 4 kinds of stitch loop length. A factor analysis showed that subjective textures are classified into 3 categories with $R^2=70.32\%$: 'surface-rough', 'drapable', 'bulky' and 'elastic' and subjective sensibilities into 3 categories with $R^2=68.12\%$: 'stable/neat', 'feminine/elegant' and 'natural/comfortable'. The fiber contents of wool/rayon had a positive and linear relation with 'surface-rough', but had a relatively non-linear one with 'bulky' and 'elastic' categories of textures, and 'feminine/elegant' of sensibilities. The stitch loop length had a linear influence on 'drapable' and 'stable/neat', but had a non-linear influence on other subjective textures and sensibilities.
In order to fabricate the aluminum alloys with good drawability, the textures evolution of the AA5182 sheets after rolling and annealing was studied. The measurement of the deformation textures was carried out for the sheets which were cold rolled with high reduction ratio by using the symmetric roll. In addition, the change of the recrystallization texture was investigated after heat-treatments of the rolled sheets with various heat treatment conditions. Rolling without lubrication and subsequent annealing led to the formation of favorable $rot-C_{ND}\;\{001\}<110>\;and\;{\gamma}-fiber ND//<111>$ textures in AA5182 sheets. From the results, the ${\gamma}$-fiber ND//<111> component well evolved during rolling at highest reduction ratio (over $90\%$, l/d parameter of 6.77). Among shear deformation textures, the ${\gamma}$-fiber ND//<111> was not rotated in holding time of $180\~7,200$ seconds at $350^{\circ}C$. The Monte-Carlo technique was used and could be representatively simulated these textures evolution during recrystallization.
In this study, the development of annealing textures in cold rolled and annealed tantalum sheets was analyzed using electron backscatter diffraction. At $900^{\circ}C$, the textures of the recrystallized grains in the partially and completely recrystallized microstructures displayed significant similarities. The average diameter of the recrystallized grains with ${\gamma}-fiber$ orientations exceeded that of grains with different orientations, and the average growth rates were unrelated to the orientations after an initial stage of recrystallization. Additional cold rolling and annealing was done for controlled initial microstructures and textures inherited from various processes of prior cold rolling and annealing. This second cycle of the process resulted in stronger textures with major ${\gamma}-fiber$ orientations as a result of the enhanced ${\gamma}-fiber$ orientations in the preceding textures. A coarse-grained prior microstructure resulted in a weaker annealing texture than a fine grained one regardless of the stronger previous texture, which was occasioned by the sub-structures of the minor orientations at local deformation inhomogeneities such as sharp in-grain shear bands.
Some of historical textiles were analyzed to identify the imprinted textures on the metal remains of Haengyeup(a horse strap pendant) and Doja (a knife), which were excavated in the ruins of Hwangsung-dong, Kyungju city in the fifth century and textiles imprinted on the human bones that were excavated in the Pungnae 4th Area, Namyangju county in the sixteenth century. The results analyzed arc as follows ; It was confirmed that the imprinted textures of Haengyeup and Doja are white ramie since the structural characteristics of cellulosic bast fibers, partially projected long oval cross sections with large lumens and the imprinted textures of human bones are silk fabrics since the triangular cross sections of fibroin is showed. All of the textiles were designed in plain weaves. In the case of weaving yarns, the warp threads were thicker than the weft threads, that is, the imprinted textures of Haengyeup were measured by 1.35 mm for warp and 1.21 mm for weft, and the Doja by 1.16mm for warp and 1.11 mm for weft. In connection with the direction of the yarn twist, the Z-twist were observed in the imprinted textures of human bones, whereas it presented the S-twist in the case of Haengyeup and Doja. The warp yarns were mostly harder twisted than the weft yarns on the amounts of twist, that is, it was observed that the case of Haengyeup were amounted to 0.33 twists per centimeter for warp yarns and 0.25 twists per centimeter for weft yarns. Also it was showed 0.32 twists per centimeter for warp yarns and 0.26 twists per centimeter in the case of the textures of human bones. On the fabric counts, it was showed that the finer the yarns the higher the densities since it were $4.3{\times}5.1$ threads per sqaure centimeters and $7.6{\times}7.1$ threads per sqaure centimeters each in the case of Haengyeup and Doja, whereas it was $18.2{\times}33.7$ threads per sqaure centimeters in the case of the textures of human bones.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship among subjective textures, sensibilities and objective handle of knit fabrics and to provide useful information in planning and designing knit fabrics. We made 20 plain knit fabrics, as specimens, with a combination of 5 kinds of wool/rayon fiber contents and 4 kinds of stitch loop length. For the subjective evaluation, we used 29 questions of subjective textures and sensibilities and employed statistical analysis tools such as factor, Pearson's correlation analysis. An objective handle was measured by Kawabata evaluation system and HV and THV was calculated by KN-402-KT and KN-301-winter. The analysis of a Pearson's correlation with objective properties and handles and structural properties of knit fabrics demonstrated a highly linear relationship. Especially, wool/rayon contents and WT of tensile properties and loop stitch length and G of shear properties showed a correlation coefficient over 0.9. But a relationship of objective properties and subjective textures and sensibilities was non-linear and a linear multi-regression analysis showed that a objective handle had a lower prediction power in the area of subjective textures and sensibilities.

We investigated the effects of Pd impurities on cube-textures in cold rolled and recrystallized PtPd tapes The sample were made from Pt$_{1-x}Pd_x$ alloys (x from 0 to0.34) by rolling at low temperature. The thickness of the tapes were about 100 ${\mu}$m. The PtPd[111] pole figures of X-ray Diffraction for all the samples indicated similar deformed textures. But the recrystallized textures after annealing showed that a better cube texture was formed in the sample of larger x. The final textures were sensitive to annealing time and temperature when x was increased.
Asymmetrical rolling was performed by rolling AA 1050 sheets with different velocities of upper and lower rolls. In order to study the effect of roll gap geometry on the evolution of strain states and textures during asymmetrical rolling, the reduction per rolling pass was varied. After asymmetrical rolling, the outer thickness layers depicted shear textures and the center thickness layers displayed a random texture. With decreasing reduction per an asymmetrical rolling pass, the thickness layers depicting shear textures increases. The strain states associated with asymmetrical rolling were investigated by simulations with the finite element method (FEM).

The texture inhomogeniety during rolling is one of the greatest problems. Especially, shear texture develops more easily during ferritic rolling of steel sheets at high temperatures due to friction between rolls and the material. In this study, the influence of front and back tensions on the texture development during ferritic rolling has been studied. The rolling textures were simulated using the full constrains Taylor-Bishiop-Hill model with the strain history obtained from finite element analysis. The calculated textures showed that the back tension rolling could reduce the shear component more effectively than front tension or rolling without tension. However, the experimental results showed that the lension effect was very small compared to our prediction. It might be attributed to initial texture and difference in frictions between simulation and experiments.
