Soil organic carbon (SOC) of soil series is necessary to calculate soil C sequestration due to IPCC default categorized by climate regions and by soil types. The 3,400 thousand data were downloaded from agricultural soil information system and analyzed to get averages of soil order, soil series, and textual family for the three different soil management practices in Korea. The SOC content was $13.3{\pm}5.38g\;kg^{-1}$ in paddy field, $13.7{\pm}7.19g\;kg^{-1}$ in upland field, and $15.2{\pm}8.22g\;kg^{-1}$ in orchard soil, respectively. As SOC in orchard was 10% greater than that in upland, orchard must be managed with applying compost. The SOCs of inceptisols, which was largely distributed in Korea, were $13.6{\pm}5.48g\;kg^{-1}$ in paddy field, $14.1{\pm}7.38g\;kg^{-1}$ in upland field, and $15.3{\pm}8.20g\;kg^{-1}$ in orchard soil, respectively. The SOCs of alfisols were $13.6{\pm}4.96g\;kg^{-1}$ in paddy field, $13.7{\pm}6.99g\;kg^{-1}$ in upland field, and $15.6{\pm}8.59g\;kg^{-1}$ in orchard soil, respectively. The SOCs of entisols were $11.7{\pm}5.16g\;kg^{-1}$ in paddy field, $12.8{\pm}7.05g\;kg^{-1}$ in upland field, and $13.7{\pm}7.81g\;kg^{-1}$ in orchard soil, respectively. The SOCs of ultisols were $12.7{\pm}4.79g\;kg^{-1}$ in paddy field, $12.7{\pm}6.22g\;kg^{-1}$ in upland field, and $16.3{\pm}8.49g\;kg^{-1}$ in orchard soil, respectively. The fact that soils containing greater clay content in textual family had also more SOC content revealed that SOC could be also dependent on some soil properties as well as soil order. Because SOC differences among soil series representing same textual family were greater than those among textual family, SOC differences should be mainly affected by management practices such as compost application.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the housing unit and investigate needs of housing in Home Economics curriculum of Home Economics teachers. The questionnaire survey was conducted 98 teachers participated in the minor training course in Chungbuk, August of 2000. When the teachers made their class in the section of housing, they emphasized respectively as the textual order: the space of housing and family life, the utilization of space, clean of residing circumstance in the middle school: and in the high school there was also concerned to the textual order: choice of housing, the house planning, interior design, maintenance of house. The teachers focused into the arrange of furniture and interior design for the students in the class, drawing of a plan in the contents of practical experience and performance. According to the survey results, the main point of class in housing should be emphasized the arranging of own room and function of other spaces in house for the students in the middle school. The high school curriculum should focus on the practical area to connect with the interior design. And in the section of housing it was needed to add the contents of management in the multi-family housing, housing problems, neighborhood environment for elderly, and also community planning.
This study researched the food culture and bean economy of the Joseon dynasty during the 16th century and according to the primary lifestyle reference "Shaemirok (?尾錄)". The research analyzed the textual contents of the "Shaemirok (?尾錄)". It is clear that the people of the Joseon dynasty produced more beans than grain, at a ratio of 41 to 50, respectively. The soy bean sauce consumption was split into family consumption and non-family consumption. It was evident that there was more family consumption compared to that of non-family consumption at a ratio of 7 to 3, respectively. People of the Joseon dynasty annually recorded their way of making soy sauce from 1595 to 1600. The Joseon writers edited the record six times for making meju and four times for making soy sauce. The recorded ratio displays the ingredients of soy sauce, which were: 6 Du of Mal Jang and 2 Du of salt. Mal Jang and salt had a three to one ratio, respectively. The most mentioned food was Tofu during the mid-Joseon period with fifty six mentions. The Joseon people regarded making Tofu in a Buddhist temple as a family-bonding experience. Porridge was the second most prominent food next to Tofu, among the bean-related food. Porridge appears thirty five times. There were 3 types of porridge named: bean porridge, bean powder porridge and mung bean porridge.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to survey health requirements of middle-aged women and their families and to provide guidelines for developing nursing interventions by describing the process of family health maintenance experienced by middle-aged women and its conceptual system. Methods: To get saturated data, each of four researchers conducted two or three times of in-depth interview with eight middle-aged women aged between 40-64 years old and living in Seoul and Chuncheon from the 10th to the 30th of October 2004 and each interview was continued one or two hours. The Grounded theory adopted by Strauss & Corbin (1998) is a substantive theory that can explain the experiencing process of middle-aged women. Results: We found that the casual condition of family health maintaining by middle-aged women was 'confidence of health belief', and 'pouring by body moving' was found to be its phenomenon. A textual condition that might respond to the phenomenon was 'fatal roles acceptance', and intervening conditions that promote their family health were 'retracing' and 'gathering health information'. These intervening conditions impacted middle-aged women's confidence in family health and led them to take actions/interactions such as 'being a model of health', 'adapting to circumstances', 'do-it-myself', 'taking-care' 'harmonious mind' and 'the pursuit of cleanness'. These actions/interactions produced results such as 'being stronger', 'being unmanageable' and 'being fruitful'. Conclusions: Health confidence and practical health behaviors were observed in the process that the middle-aged female participants experienced unmanageable circumstances but they accepted their roles and responsibilities and recognized that they must be get stronger. The behaviors of health-together-with were divided into enthusiastic type, adaptation type and self-sacrificing type. Therefore middle-aged woman with the understanding of family health maintaining process as well as the theoretical system and practical principals needs to implement the intervention in acceptable level of family health process of preventing psychological and physical problems.
Recent studies on William Faulkner's female characters have overcome much of the stereotyped and dichotomous approaches of the past by uncovering their subversive characteristics. Nevertheless, they still present some limitations in regards to analyzing the characters based on individual texts. This paper attempts an inter-textual approach to Narcissa Benbow, the central character of Sanctuary, Sartoris and "There Was a Queen." In Sanctuary, Narcissa, a young widow of a Southern aristocratic family, harshly accuses her brother Horace, a lawyer of taking a murder suspect's wife and her infant child to their old house. She is afraid that their existence could harm the reputation of her family and herself. Eventually, she kicks them out of the house. In contrast, she is described as being friendly and calm in Sartoris. In addition, in "There Was a Queen," Narcissa makes an attempt to get an obscene letter back from an FBI agent in exchange for a sexual favor in order to prevent the letter from being disclosed. This paper takes into account the possibility of seeing these incoherent or even contradictory aspects of her characterization with a consistent view. This confirms that an inter-textual approach is needed to properly understand those round female characters created by Faulkner.
The purpose of this study is to broaden the realm of the fashion design using print hereafter and to urge designers to the better quality design by presenting successful case. As a method of the study, the literature and visual data in this study were reviewed focusing on the 1960's, which was Pucci's golden age. For the historical background, textual and visual data related to sixties fashion and Italian fashion were referred. Foreign literature was investigated to study life of Pucci and his design tendency in fashion because domestic papers and research data were rare. Out of this, characteristics of fashion design of Pucci and conclusion were extracted. Emilio Pucci was born to an illustrious Florentine aristocratic family in 1914. He was a designer, businessman and politician. Pucci's design has following characteristics. Firstly, gorgeous geometric prints with brilliant colors were key factor in Pucci's fashion design. Secondly, Pucci's design in fashion was a luxury sporty casual style symbolizing wearer's status and position in society. Thirdly, Pucci liberated the wearer's body using light and stretch material matching comfortable and active style. Lastly, Pucci developed total fashion dealing with various items widely including clothes and non-clothing products.
The main focus of this study is to understand realities of postmodern consumer culture by deconstructing fashion advertisements, Calvin Klein's ck One and cK be. The metaphysics of critical theory, visual and textual analysis are used to deconstructing the ads applying one of the postmodern cultural critics, Baudrillard' s notion of hyperreality. Through deconstructing the ads five postmodern characteristics representing hyperreality were found. First, there is no message regarding functional characteristics of the product offered in the ad, which is far from the modernist's utilitarian Point of view. Hyperreality in Postmodern consumer culture is consumption centered and focuses on the product's symbolic meanings. Second, especially for cK be, the ad uses atypicai, irrelevant models and images, which are introduced as a concept of ‘real people’ rather than the ideal person or body type. Third, there are transformations of the meanings from cK one to cK be such as the notions of globalization and gender which clearly represent ongoing reality in the Postmodern culture. Fourth, there are hidden meaning of hedonism and relativism, which are prevalent in postmodern ideology. Finally, models' bodies are used to convey messages as well as form the ground and figure in the ad that is a significant characteristic of postmodern consumer culture. In conclusion, the study of Calvin Klein's fashion ads supports the notion that advertising mirrors reality in postmodern consumer culture, which is hyperreality.

The article presents the analysis of modern methods of automatic comparison of original and unoriginal text to detect textual plagiarism. The study covers two types of plagiarism - literal, when plagiarists directly make exact copying of the text without changing anything, and intelligent, using more sophisticated techniques, which are harder to detect due to the text manipulation, like words and signs replacement. Standard techniques related to extrinsic detection are string-based, vector space and semantic-based. The first, most common and most successful target models for detecting literal plagiarism - N-gram and Vector Space are analyzed, and their advantages and disadvantages are evaluated. The most effective target models that allow detecting intelligent plagiarism, particularly identifying paraphrases by measuring the semantic similarity of short components of the text, are investigated. Models using neural network architecture and based on natural language sentence matching approaches such as Densely Interactive Inference Network (DIIN), Bilateral Multi-Perspective Matching (BiMPM) and Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT) and its family of models are considered. The progress in improving plagiarism detection systems, techniques and related models is summarized. Relevant and urgent problems that remain unresolved in detecting intelligent plagiarism - effective recognition of unoriginal ideas and qualitatively paraphrased text - are outlined.
This study analyzed food poisoning articles in the Joseonwangjosillok to acquire historical evidence. The study method used case studies from the textual content of the Joseonwangjosillok. In all, there were fifteen cases of food poisoning in spring (60%), four cases in summer (16%), five cases in fall (20%), and 1 case during winter (4%). Most cases of food poisoning occurred during spring, followed by fall, then summer, and the least during winter. Foods that caused poisoning were as follows: twelve cases of seafood (48%), three cases of vegetables (12%), two cases of meat (8%), and eight cases of poisonous food (32%). Maximum cases pertained to seafood poisoning, which also spiked during spring. This could be attributed to the increased number of planktons as the sea temperature rose during spring. Due to the increased plankton, shellfish absorbed more toxins. The consumption of increasingly toxic shellfish resulted in more cases of food poisoning. The food poisoning frequency was the most severe during the 18th century, followed sequentially by the 15th, 16th, and 17th centuries, and was the least severe during the 19th century. Joseonwangjosillok showed that food poisoning cases happened most during social events where many guests or family members gathered to eat.

The purpose of this study is to establish genre knowledge that can be used to study classical Korean novels. Genre knowledge is important because it characterizes individual works based on their knowledge, as well as organically links them with the social context. In this study, I suggest that long classical Korean novels with similar contents can be analyzed using genre knowledge and analyze the "register" of the representative work Sohyeonsungrok as an example of a classical Korean novel. In the Sydney school, register connects genre and language. Register comprises field, tenor, and mode in the social context, and ideological meaning, interpersonal meaning, and textual meaning through language. These three meanings help us to understand how experiences are transformed into language, the relationship between participants, and the way a text is organized. Based on these frameworks, this study reveals that the linguistic features of Sohyeonsungrok is "an attitude that accepts a wide range of human emotions and desires and steadily waits for it to be included in norms." Classic Korean novels such as Sohyeonsungrok depict characters who are not wicked even though they cannot fully comply with social norms, and thereby create sympathy for family members living through Confucian ideology. This genre knowledge is useful for understanding the ideological implications of classical Korean novels.
