  • To help the industry, outsourcing was found to be the most efficient method. An extensive literature analysis was done to assess the macroeconomic factors associated with outsourcing to supplement the anxious parties' decision-making process with evidence-based comprehensive tools. As a theoretical framework for evaluating these issues, transaction cost economies and resource-based perspective theories are investigated. Outsourcing is proven to be a result of energy crises and political instability. The advantages of outsourcing assist major industries in the economy. To discover the key drivers behind outsourcing, we used the vector autoregressive (VAR model) and step-wise regression techniques for the period 1992 to 2016. This research adds to the literature in that it not only explains the energy issue but also discusses the dilemma of political instability in the country in the context of outsourcing. The findings indicate that labor cost and export tendency have a positive impact on outsourcing strategy, which confirms the study's third and fourth hypotheses. Customs tax, inflation, and the unemployment rate, on the other hand, have a negative impact on textile outsourcing in Pakistan, according to the study's fifth, sixth, and seventh hypotheses.

  • Velvet is a luxury cloth. In Fashion it dresses the Elite. In Interiors, it covers palace walls and upholsters elegant furniture. In every culture throughout its history velvet's sumptuous surfaces denotes luxury, status, power, privilege and wealth. My humble aim is to reveal the artisan in the art-to comprehend the mastery of weaving techniques, to understand the design principles, to study the everyday practice of the weavers at work. In the few ateliers that still weave silk velvet by hand, I have documented their processes and now want to share this knowledge with the broader textile community in hopes of expanding the appreciation of their art. I approach as a fellow weaver striving to learn the mechanics, the practical aspects that guide the work from initial idea to finished cloth. I leave the difficulties of establishing provenance and other important analyses to my more learned textile historian colleagues.

  • Osteoblasts (MC3T3-E1) were cultured on polysaccharide type polyelectrolyte complex (PEC). The growth of the MC3T3-E1 on the PEC with carbxyl group (c-type) was slightly suppressed and exhibited aggregation morphology. On the other hand, cell growth on the PEC with sulfate group (s-type) was enhanced and the cell exhibited spreading form. Differentiation markers of osteoblast (ALPase activity, calcification, expression of osteocalsin) were enhanced and localized around cell aggregates on c-type PECs. These results suggest that PEC has the ability to control osteoblast proliferation and differentiation.

  • The study has been conducted to investigate the relationship between yarn structural parameters such as diameter, twist multiplier and linear density, and mechanical properties of yarns measured by KES-F System. Each mechanical characteristic values per tex have non-linear relationship to the increment of yarn diameter, but as the linear density has increased, the mechanical characteristic values except for the bending characteristics have decreased linearly. It is, however, difficult to analyze obviously on the effects of twist multiplier even though the bending and the shear characteristic values were inclined to decrease. The effect of dyeing has also considered. The results are showing that yarn-dyed samples had higher effects than top-dyed ones on the mechanical characteristics.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the physical properties and handle of knitwears made with silver yarns. The four different knitted fabrics were made and compared: cotton(C), cotton/silver(CS), polyester(P), and polyester/silver(PS). If fabrics knitted with silver combined yarns, their electrical shield properties, UV-cut properties, anti-static properties, and air permeability were improved. As an additional effect this also improves the antibacterial properties of fabrics. It was found that overall physical properties and functional properties were improved by using silver yarn with cotton. The silver knitted fabric was found to be improved its softness and fullness hand for apparel.

  • Korean Paintings have been drawn on in the main two types of support material - paper and silk. In these things, silk designates picture silk, that of a specially weaved textile for painting since CHO-SUN dynasty, different such as hemp, ramie have been started to use for support material In addition to picture silk. However the structure of hemp and ramie are so close and progue, They are not proper to express the technique of pigments on the back of the paintings. On the other hand, picture silk is efficacious in pigments on the back of the painting with its interval between the strands and translucent textile. As the result, paintings on the silk has many - sided techniques as compared with painting on the papers therfore various devices in conservation have to be considered to deal with the techniques. In this report the focus is on classifying the method of removing the Lining paper according to the several types of expression technique of paintings on the silk.

  • This research extracted and analyzed 54 papers on knit field published in "The Research Journal of the Costume Culture", "Journal of The Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles", "The Journal of The Korean Society of Costume", "The Science and Technology of Clothing Appearance and Fit", "Journal of The Korean Society of Design Culture", "Textile Science and Engineering (Formerly Journal of the Korean Fiber Society", "Journal of The Korean Society for Clothing Industry", "Journal of the Korean Living Science Association", and "Journal of The Korean Home Economics Association" to analyze papers on knit field in textile science in depth. The result of the research shows that the number of papers is small compared to other fields and it is being researched limitedly due to relatively high ratio of subjects such as designs and patterns, knit hand assessment, and manufacturing fashion trends.

  • This study focuses on the imported silver goods from Japan and investigates the backgrounds of importing, trade items, and the amount of the exchange. This study also investigates the effects of the importing silver on Chosun society. A large amount of silver was imported from Japan and the amount of imported silver reached its maximum in Chosun Dynasty. Japan, on the other hand, imported a large quantity of cotton cloth from Chosun Dynasty. Silver was imported mainly because of the sumptuous moods among the royal family and the aristocracy. The moods were spread out to general people who made them wish for the luxurious and expensive chinese goods. To buy the luxurious goods, a lot of silver was imported from Japan. Importing a large quantity of silver fostered the sumptuous moods and also caused the price increase in the Chosun society. The order of the society became worse because of the individual trades of rich merchants who were closely connected to high officials.

  • The purpose of this study is to improve the defects of dyeable polypropylene(DPP) fabric by heat setting and to describe the change of physical properties of DPP fabrics. The thermosetting was carried out in autoclave from 100 to $140^{\circ}C$ temperature range for 2 min. In this study, we investigated the effect of the thermosetting temperatures on the structural, thermal, mechanical properties(e.g., the strength and elongation) and dyeability of DPP fabrics. The melting energy(J/g), the tensile strength was found to increase with increasing temperature of thermosetting. The diffraction peak at Bragg angle($2{\theta}$) about $13.8^{\circ}$ were very strong and diffraction intensity increased with increasing thermosetting temperatures. And d-spacing and half-width decreased with increasing thermosetting temperatures. On the other hand, the dyeability(K/S) and crease recovery decreased with an increasing thermosetting temperatures.

  • The purpose of the study was to investigate the changes of drapability and mechanical properties with folded yarn conditions. The samples were knitted 100% cotton yarn with hand-knitting machine. Mechanical properties were measured by Instron and Kawabata tester. Drapability was measured by Drapemeter. The differences in each sample were observed in the experimental results. This study showed that folded conditions were important conditions for fabric handle and properties.
