  • This study is to analyze the works introduced in the collections of Paco Rabanne in an aim to identify formative aesthetic and design concepts. As the data to study the creative concepts and expressions of the designer, fashion photographs were gathered in a focus on collections. Paco Rabanne's fashion philosophy is to shine women who has passion, energy and self-confidence, with glittering materials. For he had a career of fashion accessary designer and architect, he tried to make his work constructively with non-sewing technology. So, his works could be divided three parts of materials which he has made creative fashion with. They are metallic, non-metallic and fabric. In metallic, design concepts are cosmos, egypt, the middle ages, modern technology. And from these the formative aesthetic were mainly characterized by the futurism, cubism and eroticism. In non-metallic, building, purism of primitiveness, nature. And from these the formative aesthetic were mainly characterized by surrealism, primitivism, romantism. In fabric, design concepts are natural phenomena, optical illusion. And from these the formative aesthetic were mainly characterized by cubism, optical art.

  • Protective clothing for firefighters typically consists of a flame resistant outer shell and inner layers. The inner layers are generally composed of a moisture barrier and a thermal barrier. On performing the task in fire place the heat and perspiration generated from the body become trapped inside the protective clothing. Those heat and moisture result into heat-stress and physical fatigue of fire fighter, which hinder the work. Therefore, the system of clothing designs and material layers must be chosen carefully to balance protection and comfort. 3 kinds of protective clothing of 3 layer structure were used in the experiment of physiological comfort. From the comparison of wear trials with the 3 kinds of layers in firefighters clothing, it indicates that the moisture dissipation of A+B2+C was highest, following A+BI+C andA+B3+C. And the heat dissipation of A+BI+C and A+B2+C were better than A+B3+C. In the protective clothing with A+B3+C, heat and perspiration generated through exercise remained in clothing system long and caused discomfort.

  • This paper examines the characteristics of Hungarian women's costumes under the Reign of the Habsburg Empire in the $19^{th}$ Century. Since the beginning of the $19^{th}$ century, the Habsburg Empire inflicted strong oppression on Hungary. Under the influence of the European upper class, exaggerated and sumptuous costumes were fashionable in the Hungarian Aristocracy. They preferred blouses decorated with colorful embroidery, pleated sleeves, gorgeous beads and lace, long pleated skirts with velvet borders, corsets decorated with delicate embroidery, coats adorned with lace, and capes. However, Hungarian nationalists protested against the Habsburg Empire's oppression; consequently, Hungarian national costumes expressed a sense of resistance and solidarity. The results of the study are as follows. The Hungarian women's costumes were different from women's costumes of the Habsburg Empire in regards to headdress, bodice, apron, pattern and shoes. The Hungarian women's headdress consists of the parta and veil. The bodice is richly adorned with colorful embroidery and differs from skirts in color and material. The Hungarian women's apron is distinct from the Habsburg Empire as a unique Hungarian item. Finally, Hungarian costumes are characterized by the Oriental pattern and short boots with metal heels.

  • Poly(ethylene-co-vinylacetate)(EVA) microspheres were prepared by a thermally induced phase separation. The microsphere formation occurred by the nucleation and growth mechanism in the metastable region. The diluents used were toluene. The microsphere formation and growth was followed by the cloud point of the optical microscope measurement. The microsphere size, which was obtained by SEM observation and particle size analyzer, became decreased when the titanium dioxide($TiO_2$) concentration was higher. The deodorizing function of the prepared fabrics was studied by the determination of the decomposing capability for $NH_3$. The deodorant activity of these deodorizing fabrics was measured by chromogenic gas detector tubes. The deodorant activity of $NH_3$ increased with increasing $TiO_2$ concentration of EVA microsphere.

  • This study investigated domestic and foreign cycle wear sizing systems for the domestic market and provided basic data for development of a high functional cycle wear with excellent fitness qualities. Each brand was found to have different dimension items and different sizes as well as size deviation and range according to each item. Therefore, a size selected by referring to the dimension items would be expected to have confusion when selecting a size. Domestic brands are able to selects sizes relatively easily because they suggest sizes mainly by height and weight (which are a universal size). However, the development of a sizing system for domestic cycle wear brands is needed because each brand have different sizes according to its dimension items. Foreign brands are also different from domestic brands in size marking items and sizes according to items. Therefore, the establishment of a sizing system standard for foreign brands is necessary because there could be a problem with fitness in the same sizes selected for domestic brands. Cycle wear is also able to cover various body types due to the elasticity of its material; however, and evaluation of fitness and a follow-up study will be necessary to develop cycle wear with a fitness that is proper for a Korean body type.

  • For the purpose of the improvement of interfacial shear strength in carbon fiber/aluminum matrix composite material, polyacrylonitrile-based carbon fibers were surface treated by hydrogen sulfide gas continuously between 400 and $600^{\circ}C$. Surface treated carbon fibers were analysed by scanning electron microscope. The existence of sulfur compound on treated carbon fiber surfaces was confirmed, and carbon and oxygen contents of the fiber surfaces were examined by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Optimum treating temperature for the adsorption of sulfur on the carbon fiber surface was $500^{\circ}C$. Sulfur compounds on the carbon fiber surfaces form the structures of disulfide, $(S)_n$ and thiophene. The decrease in the tensile strength of the carbon fibers was observed less than about 5%.

  • Maximalism in modern fashion has emerged as an anti-conception against Minimaslism which dominated the trend of 21st century. Contrary to the traits of Minimalism which are oriented to constraint and editing, Maximalism expresses human sensitivity, concern to tradition and other culture, and instinctive desire for decoration. The trend of Maximalism is reflected in various areas of fashion and shoes design, and its influence is still enlarging. This idea for designing shoes come from analyzing the related documentaries, fashion magazines and internet sites since 2005, when the maximalism was main concepts in worldwide fashion trends. The traits of Maxmalistic trend expressed in shoes are decentralizing, pluralisml, sensitivity, etc. The molding constituents, such as form, material, color, accessary decoration, have been expressed as diversified and differentiated traits of shoes design through molding modes such as exaggeration and concentration, distortion and modification, removal and mixing-up. This study takes advantage of this opportunity to grasp the diversified and colorful trend and molding traits of Maximalim expressed in shoes design, close up the molding value of shoes design, and finally enlarge the realm of aesthetic expression of shoes design.

  • To develop a waterproof breathable material, we fabricated three kinds of nanofiber web laminates using a massproduced electrospun nanofiber web with different substrates and layer structures. The waterproofness and breathability of nanofiber web laminates were evaluated after repeated launderings and compared with those of conventional waterproof breathable fabrics currently in use, including densely woven fabric, microporous membrane laminated fabric, and coated fabric. The durability of nanofiber web laminates, including adhesion strength, abrasion resistance, tensile strength, and tearing strength, was also assessed and compared with those of conventional waterproof breathable fabrics. The water vapor transmission of nanofiber web laminates increased slightly after repeated launderings, whereas the air permeability somewhat decreased after launderings but still maintained an acceptable level of air permeability. Laundering reduced the resistance to water penetration of nanofiber web laminates, which implies that laminating techniques or substrate materials that could support waterproofness of the laminated structure should be explored. The adhesion strength, abrasion resistance, tensile strength, and tearing strength of nanofiber web laminates were in a range comparable to conventional waterproof breathable materials.
