  • With the rapid growth of network technology, two or more products from different vendors are integrated and interact with each other to perform a certain function in the latest systems. Thus. interoperability testing is considered as an essential aspect of correctness of integrated systems. Interoperability testing is to test the ability of software and hardware on different machines from different vendors to share data. Most of the researches model communication system behavior using EFSM(Extended Finite State Machines) and use EFSM as an input of test scenario generation algorithm. Actually, there are many studies on systematic and optimal test case generation algorithms using EFSM. But in these researches, the study for generating EFSM model which is a foundation of test scenario generation isn't sufficient. This study proposes an EFSM generating technique from informal requirement analysis document for more complete interoperability testing. and implements prototype of Test Case Generation Tool generating test cases semi-automatically. Also we describe theoretical base and algorithms applied to prototype implementation.

  • The steady state performance test for the digital protective relay using general relay test equipment has been main test methods. Because of the development of advanced power system testing equipments, dynamic performance test has been carried out additionally using a digital simulator such as RTDS(Real Time Digital Simulator). For the case of newly adopted digital protective relay with IEC 61850 and network, performance testing items need supplementing. This report displays testing items change according to newly protective relay.

  • A rectifying inspection plan is considered for the case of destructive testing. Screening inspection for rejected lots is performed by some nondestructive testing which is prone to misclassification errors. Apparent defectives found in the screening process is replaced with apparent good items. The plan provides LTPD protection on each individual lot while the sum of the cost of testing and the cost due to producer's risk at process average quality is minimized. A brief discussion on average outgoing quality is also given.

  • An Adaptive Random Testing(ART) is one of test case generation algorithms, which was designed to get better performance in terms of fault-detection capability than that of Random Testing(RT) algorithm by locating test cases in evenly spreaded area. Two ART algorithms, such as Distance-based ART(D-ART) and Restricted Random Testing(RRT), had been indicated that they have significant drawbacks in computations, i.e., consuming quadratic order of runtime. To reduce the amount of computations of D-ART and RRT, iterative partitioning of input domain strategy was proposed. They achieved, to some extent, the moderate computation cost with relatively high performance of fault detection. Those algorithms, however, have yet the patterns of non-uniform distribution in test cases, which obstructs the scalability. In this paper we analyze the distribution of test cases in an iterative partitioning strategy, and propose a new method of input domain enlargement which makes the test cases get much evenly distributed. The simulation results show that the proposed one has about 3 percent of improvement in terms of mean relative F-measure for 2-dimension input domain, and shows 10 percent improvement for 3-dimension space.

  • We propose a software-reliability growth model incoporating the amount of uniform and Weibull testing efforts during the software testing phase in this paper. The time-dependent behavior of testing effort is described by uniform and Weibull curves. Assuming that the error detection rate to the amount of testing effort spent during the testing phase is proportional to the current error content, the model is formulated by a nonhomogeneous Poisson process. Using this model the method the data analysis for software reliability measurement is developed. The optimum release time is determined by considering how the initial reliability R($\chi$ 0) would be. The conditions are ($R\chi$ 0)>$R_{o}$ , $P_{o}$ >R($\chi$ 0)> $R_{o}$ $^{d}$ and R($\chi$ 0)<$R_{o}$ $^{d}$ for uniform testing efforts. deal case is $P_{o}$ >($R\chi$ 0)> $R_{o}$ $^{d}$ Likewise, it is ($R\chi$ 0)$\geq$$R_{o}$ , $R_{o}$ >($R\chi$ 0)>R(eqation omitted) and ($R\chi$ 0)<R(eqation omitted)for Weibull testing efforts. Ideal case is $R_{o}$ > R($\chi$ 0)> R(eqation omitted).

  • The exploratory test was introduced as a desirable test method due to its fast development cycle, but it is not actively adopted because documentation and analysis of the test range are required for application. On the other hand, keyword-based testing has been introduced as a way to save resources and facilitate maintenance, but it is difficult to plan tests in advance due to the large number of variables such as data, settings, interactions, sequence and timing. However, in keyword-based testing, you can create a test case based on keywords by presenting clear criteria and methods for creating keywords and applying the exploration testing process. In this paper, we propose a model that automates exploratory tests based on keywords. To verify the effectiveness, we compared the general keyword-based test(KBT) and keyword-based exploratory test(KBET), and compared with the exploratory normal test case(ETC) and keyword-based exploratory test(KBET).

  • Software, once developed, has a long life and evolves through numerous additions and modifications because of the faults, the changes in user requirements, the changes in environments, and so forth. With the evolution of the software, assuring the quality of the software is getting more difficult because of numerous versions of the software. Meanwhile, regression testing has been used to support the software testing activities and assure acquiring appropriate quality through several versions of software. Regression testing, however, is too expensive because it requires lots of test cases executions and the number of test cases increases sharply as the software evolves. For this reason, several techniques are suggested to help conducting regression testing then test case prioritization technique is understood the most effective and efficient technique to support regression testing. In this paper, we propose an approach, Historical Value-Based Approach, which is based on the use of historical information to estimate the current cost and fault severity for cost-cognizant test case prioritization. As a result of the proposed approach, software testers who perform regression testing prioritize their test cases more effectively so that the test effectiveness of them can be improved in terms of APFDc.

  • When the ground subsystem of Ground Based Augmentation System(GBAS) is installed at the airport, the functions and performance of subsystem should be evaluated through ground and flight testing at the pre-commissioning phase. In the case of GBAS flight testing, it can be conducted by the existing flight check aircraft, but the GBAS ground testing requires the development of specially customized equipment to perform the ground testing. Therefore, this paper describes the preliminary design of GBAS onboard test equipment which can be independently used for the GBAS ground testing and flight testing on a car and an aircraft.

  • This paper describes the principles of reignition system which has newly been developed and used as KERI's high power testing facilities. Synthetic short-circuit testing method is generally adopted to perform the short-circuit test of the ultra high-voltage circuit breakers, which consists of two separated sources such as the current source from short-circuit generator and the voltage source from charged energy in capacitor. And, in case of synthetic short-circuit test, it will be necessary to use the reignition system in order to extending the arcing time of the circuit breaker and provide the arc energy equivalent to the direct testing method.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this research is to find which technique, between the PAUT (Phased array ultrasonic test) that has been used widely in practice and RT (Radiographic test) that was used widely in the past, has the higher reliability as a non-destructive testing of welding points in water wall tubes. Methods: To evaluated the reliability of non-destructive testing, eleven test pieces that were fabricated intentionally, which have the most frequently occurred defect types in water wall tubes and then both the PAUT and RT were performed on those eleven test pieces to compare their reliability. Results: The differences of type of defect, length are occurred due to the characteristics of nondestructive testing. The RT could not detect the lack of fusion defect type in specimen #4 and #8 while PAUT could not detect the lateral crack and 1 mm size small porosity in specimen #11. Conclusion: It is concluded that applying both the RT and PAUT result the best reliability rather than applying only one test method, if it is possible, in nondestructive testing of weld water wall tube in thermal power plant boiler case.
