The aim of this study was to identify the reliability and the validity of Five Organs Questionnaire (FOQ). In this study, 335 data was collected from early adulthood of A-city, D-city and C-city in South Korea from Dec. 2016 to Jan. 2017, and the collected data was analyzed with SPSS 23.0 software. The result showed that the Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ of five organs was 0.775-0.853. The reliabilities of test and retest Intra Correlation Coefficient (ICC) for the five organs were .891-.929 in pattern identification and .874-.930 in functional evaluation, respectively. Each organ was divided by two factors, and the factor loadings of Liver, Heart, Spleen, Lung and Kidney were 52.973%, 54.534%, 57.060%, 53.803%, and 46.337%, respectively. The functional evaluation of five organs was associated with self-rated health status as r was -.443 to -.583(p<.001), and quality of life as r was -.5.17 to -.716(p<.001), respectively. The test-retest diagnostic agreement was 67.2% and Kappa was 0.562. This study revealed that FOQ is a reliable and valid questionnaire.
Objective : Existing depression rating scales do not fully reflect depressed patients' perspective of remission, which goes beyond symptom resolution. The Remission from Depression Questionnaire (RDQ) captures a broader array of domains, and the present study examines the reliability and validity of the Korean Version of the RDQ (K-RDQ). Methods : The test-retest reliability of the K-RDQ was studied in 60 depressed patients and 30 normal subjects working at a university hospital. Subjects were evaluated at baseline and again 1-2 weeks later. The validity of the K-RDQ was studied in 200 depressed patients who were rated on the 17-item HDRS and the CGI-S ; each patient also completed the QIDS-SR, STAI-S, GHQ/QL-12, and SDS. Results : The K-RDQ demonstrated excellent internal consistency, with a Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ of 0.965 for the total scale and above 0.80 for each of the 7 subscales. The test-retest reliability of the total scale was 0.951. Mean K-RDQ scores ($45.79{\pm}18.65$) of the depressed patients were significantly higher than those ($15.87{\pm}10.60$) of the mentally healthy subjects (t=12.8, p<0.001). Five factors from the K-RDQ were extracted by principal axis factoring with equimax rotation. Conclusion : These results indicate that the K-RDQ is a reliable and valid measure that evaluates multiple domains that depressed patients consider important in determining remission. Thus, the K-RDQ maybe considered an appropriate tool for use in the clinical setting.

Background: Reliable and validated instruments are needed in order to study the quality of life in myeloma patients. This study aimed to translate and explore the psychometric properties of the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) myeloma module (QLQ-MY20) in Iranian patients. Materials and Methods: Two hundred and fifteen patients with multiple myeloma (MM) were recruited from Imam Khomeini Hospital, Tehran. A standard forward-backward translation procedure was implemented. Participating patients were asked to complete the EORTC QLQ-C30 and the QLQ-MY20 three times, at study entry, after two weeks, and again after three months. Data were tested for the range of measurement, internal consistency, test-retest reliability, known group comparison, responsiveness and factor structure. Results: Mean age of the patients was 60.7 years. No floor and ceiling effects were seen for the QLQ-MY20. Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ was greater than 0.80 for all three multi-item scales (ranging from 0.82 to 0.93). All four scales had test-retest reliability of 0.85 or greater. Results of the confirmatory factor analysis that the hypothesized 3-scale measurement model of the QLQ-MY20. Moreover, the Persian version for the QLQ-MY20 differentiated between subgroups of the patients in terms of beta-2 microglobulin, fracture and performance status. The responsiveness of the QLQ-MY20 to change over time was confirmed within 3 months. Conclusions: the results of our study indicate that our Iranian version of the QLQ-MY20 is a feasible, reliable and valid questionnaire for assessing the condition-specific quality of life of patients with MM.
Objectives: A web-based survey has been administered annually since 2005 throughout Korea to assess the prevalence of adolescent health risk behaviors among middle and high school students. The aim of this study was to evaluate the test-retest reliability of the Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey (KYRBWS) questionnaire. Methods: A convenience sample of 2298 middle and high school students participated in self-administered questionnaire surveys twice, approximately two weeks apart, in 2008. The percent agreement, kappa statistics, and prevalence rates at the first and second surveys were computed for the core subset of 39 self-reported health risk behavior indices of the KYRBWS. Results: Among 39 indices, seven indices had kappas $\geq$ 0.81 and all of the indices had kappas $\geq$ 0.41. Based on nonoverlapping 95% confidence intervals, three indices had significantly different prevalence rates between the first and second surveys. In the subgroup analyses by school grade and gender, two indices had significantly different reliability estimates between middle and high school students. There were no significantly different reliability estimates between male and female students, except for one index. Conclusions: This study demonstrated that the reliability estimates for the KYRBWS questionnaire are varied, but generally reliable over time. The indices with low reliability estimates need to be evaluated further in order to determine whether the indices should be modified or deleted from future versions of the KYRBWS.
Objectives: The Short Form 36 (SF-36) questionnaire is increasingly being used to measure health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in Indonesia. However, evidence that it is valid for use in Indonesian adults is lacking. This study assessed the validity and reliability of the SF-36 in Indonesian middle-aged and older adults. Methods: Adults aged 46-81 years (n=206) in Yogyakarta, Indonesia completed the SF-36, another measure of HRQoL (the EuroQoL visual analogue scale [EQ-VAS]), and measures assessing their demographic characteristics. Fifty-four percent (n=121) completed the SF-36 measure again 1 week later. Confirmatory factor analysis was conducted to confirm the factor structure of the SF-36. Internal consistency reliability was estimated using Cronbach's alpha, and test-retest reliability was assessed using intraclass correlations. Convergent and discriminant validity were assessed by computing correlations among SF-36 subscales, between subscales and the 2 component scores, and between component scores and EQ-VAS scores. Results: Most scaling assumptions were met. The hypothetical factor structure fit the data poorly (root mean square error of approximation [RMSEA]=0.108) and modification was required for a good fit (RMSEA=0.060). Scores on all subscales demonstrated acceptable internal consistency (α>0.70) and test-retest reliability (r>0.70). Divergent validity was supported by weak to moderate interscale correlations (r=0.19 to 0.64). As expected, the 2 summary scores were moderately to strongly correlated with the EQ-VAS (r>0.60). Conclusions: The findings adequately support the use of SF-36 in Indonesian middle-aged and older adults, although the optimal algorithm for computing component scores in Indonesia warrants further investigation.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to examine the validity, the test-retest reliability and to provide guidelines for the Instrument on Pattern Identifications for Hwa-byung. Methods: Participants are 97 patients with Hwa-byung who were diagnosed by Hwa-Byung Diagnostic Interview Schedule. Participants were tested twice within one week. Results: The test-retest reliability of the Instrument on Pattern Identifications for Hwa-byung was examined for 97 patients and calculated to be 0.3146. The reliability of the Instrument on Pattern Identifications for Hwa-byung was 0.605 with a difference of 5% or more for the first and the second. To confirm the validity of the Instrument on Pattern Identifications for Hwa-byung, we analyzed the relevance between symptoms, Pattern Identifications that belong to the group and other Pattern Identifications that do not belong. Conclusions: It can be diagnosed in the first pattern identification by the Instrument of Pattern Identifications for Hwa-byung when there is a difference of 5% or more in the first and second pattern identification. Based on this result, we derived an Instrument for Pattern Identifications of Hwa-byung that has been further modified through additional studies.

Objectives: To develop and investigate the reliability of the pathologic aging scale based on korean medical theory and korean medical pattern identification for dementia. Methods: We searched the textbook of korean neurophychiatry and Donguibogam and selected items through professional consensus. We compared between dementia(n=40) and normal elderly(n=38) and tested the reliability of two scales. Results: After professional consensus, we drafted the Korean Medical Pathologic Aging Scale(12 items, Likert 3 scale) and Korean Medical Pattern Identification for Dementia(4 patterns, 28 items, Likert 5 scale). On Korean Medical Pathologic Aging Scale, There is no significant difference between two groups. We had good internal consistency(Cronbach's alpha = 0.6) and test-retest reliability(r=0.631) but low inter-rater reliability(r=0.430). On Korean Medical Pattern Identification for Dementia, dementia patients diagnosed with Qi deficiency are significantly more than those in normal group. We had fairly good internal consistency(Cronbach's alpha = 0.574) and excellent test-retest(kappa= .800) and inter-rater reliability(kappa = .733). Conclusions: Korean Medical Pattern Identification for Dementia is appropriate for diagnosing korean medical pattern. But Korean Medical Pathologic Aging Scale isn't appropriate to discriminate dementia from normal elderly because of many subjective items. Therefore objective measurement of sensory dysfunction would be needed to measure pathologic aging based on korean medical theory.
The Purpose of this study was to evaluate the reliability and the validation of four scales of Questionnaire for Sasang Constitution Classification (QSCC), newly constructed through statistical item analysis and to examine their diagnostic discrimination power. QSCC was administered to 105 inpatient at Kyung-Hee Oriental Medicine Hospital and local oriental clinics and 136 undergraduated students. 2 weeks later, QSCC was readministered to 220 same subjects. Data were collected during about 2 months from february to Apr. 20, 1992. For the purposes of this study, the collected data were analyzed by internal consistancy, test-retest reliability, ANOVA, Pearson correlation and discrimination analysis of spss pc+ v3.0 program. The results were as follows: 1. The reliability of four scales of QSCC was relatively favorable. The internal consistancy and test-retest reliability of Tae-Yaung-In(太陽人) scale were respectively Cronbach's ${\alpha}=0.9$ and r=0.89. Those of So-Yaung-In(少陽人) scale were respectively ${\alpha}=0.81$ and r=0.93. Those of Tae-Em-In(太陰人) scale were respectively ${\alpha}=0.72$ and r=0.74. Those of So-Em-In(少陰人) scale were respectively ${\alpha}=0.81$ and r=0.93. 2. The diagnostic discrimination abilities(Hit-ratio=56%)of QSCC were found to have more about 20% improvement than propotional chance criteria(37%). Especially, Hit-ratios for So-Yaung-In(63%) and Tae-Em-In(60%) were more high than that for So-Em-In(48%) 3. For male subjects, the construct validity of QSCC was founded to be relatively favorable. But that of QSCC for females was poor.
Background: Safety culture, acting as the oil necessary in an efficient safety management system, has its own weaknesses in the current conceptualization and utilization in practice. As a new approach, resilience safety culture (RSC) has been proposed to reduce these weaknesses and improve safety culture; however, it requires a valid and reliable instrument to be measured. This study aimed at evaluating the reliability and validity of such an instrument in measuring the RSC in sociotechnical systems. Methods: The researchers designed an instrument based on resilience engineering principles and safety culture as the first instrument to measure the RSC. The RSC instrument was distributed among 354 staff members from 12 units of an anonymous petrochemical plant through hand delivery. Content validity, confirmatory, and exploratory factor analysis were used to examine the construct validity, and Cronbach alpha and test-retest were employed to examine the reliability of the instrument. Results: The results of the content validity index and content validity ratio were calculated as 0.97 and 0.83, respectively. The explanatory factor analysis showed 14 factors with 68.29% total variance and 0.88 Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin index. The results were also confirmed with confirmatory factor analysis (relative Chi-square = 2453.49, Root Mean Square Error of Approximation = 0.04). The reliability of the RSC instrument, as measured by internal consistency, was found to be satisfactory (Cronbach ${\alpha}=0.94$). The results of test-retest reliability was r = 0.85, p < 0.001. Conclusion: The results of the study suggest that the measure shows acceptable validity and reliability.
