  • In the seismic migration, Kirchhoff and reverse time migration are used in general. In the reverse time migration using wave equation, two-way and one-way wave equation are applied. The approach of one-way wave equation uses approximately computed downward continuation extrapolator, it need tess amounts of calculations and core memory in compared to that of two-way wave equation. In this paper, we applied one-way wave equation to pre-stack reverse time migration. In the frequency-space domain, forward propagation of source wavefield and back propagration of measured wavefield were executed by using monochromatic one-way wave equation, and zero-lag cross correlation of two wavefield resulted in the image of subsurface. We had implemented prestack migration on a massively parallel processors (MPP) CRAYT3E, and knew the algorithm studied here is efficiently applied to the prestck migration due to its suitability for parallelization.

  • This study aims to analyze the performance of solar thermal system with heat pump for domestic hot water and heat supply. There are four types of system. Systems are categorized based on the existence of a heat pump and the ways of controlling the working fluid circulating from the collector. Working fluid is controlled by either temperature level (categorized as system 1 and 2) or sequential flow (system 3 and 4). Heat balance of the system, the solar fraction, hot water and heating supply rates, and performance of heat pump are analyzed using TRNSYS and TESS component programs. Technical specifications of the main facilities are as follow; the area of the collector to $25m^2$, the volumes of the main tank and the buffer tank to $0.5m^3$ and $0.8m^3$, respectively. Heating capacity of the heat pump in the heating mode is set to 30,000 kJ / hr. Hot water supply set 65 liters per person each day, total heat transfer coefficient of the building to 1,500 kJ / kg.K. Indoor temperature is kept steadily around $22^{\circ}C$. The results are as follows; 6 months average solar fraction of system 1 turns out to be 39%, which is 6.7% higher than system 2 without the heat pump, indicating a 25% increase of solar fraction compared to that of system 2. In addition, the solar fraction of system 1 is 2% higher than that of system 3. Hot water and heating supply rate of system 1 are 93% and 35%, respectively. Considering the heat balance of the system, higher heat efficiency, and solar fraction, as whole, it can be concluded that system 1 is the most suitable system for hot water and heat supply.

  • In this study, Korean Hallabong produced in Jeju Island and coffee were grafted to prepare coffee containing Hallabong extract and the nutritional components were analyzed. As the amount of Hallabong extract increased, the water content and total polyphenol content increased. However, the crude flour, crude protein, and total flavonoid content decreased significantly. The selenium content per 100 g was 91.28 mg in the 1% Hallabong group, and the iron content was 6.84 mg in the 3% Hallabong group. As the content of Hallabong extract in coffee increased, the L-value (brightness) and b-value (yellowness) increased, but the a-value (redness) showed a tendency to decrease. In the case of DPPH(2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) radical scavenging activity, the group containing 9% of Hallabong extract showed the highest value at 47.20 μmol/g of TEAC. In particular, the ABTS(2,2'-Azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonate)) and DPPH radical scavenging activity were significantly increased from coffee powder containing 6% or more of Hallabong extract(p<0.05). The caffeine content decreased as the amount of Hallabong extract added to coffee increased. Therefore, when making powder coffee with Hallabong extract added, it is recommended to set the content of Hallabong extract to 6%.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of post-harvest drying method and subsquent storage condition on the quality of garlic bulbs for 10 months from July, 1980 to April, 1981. The 27% weight loss of garlic bulbs by HPHD (hot air post-harvest frying) for 12 days at $40^{\circ}C$ (8hrs/day) was equal to that by NPHD (conventional natural post-harvest drying) for 35 days. But the decay occured 5.5% only in NPHD. During the storage period of garlic bulbs by HPHD, their decay and weight ]oss were less 25.4% and 13.5% in ambient storage, and less 14.2% and 7.5% in low temperature storage than those of NPHD. When garlic bulbs were stored in low temperature, the weight loss and decay were less 20.0% and 22.4% in NPHD, and tess 14.0% and 9.9% in HPHD than those in ambient temperature storage. The Quality of garlic bulbs packed with 0.08mm polyethylene film stored at ambient temperature for 2 months was so poor as to be inedible because of the adverse effect of $CO_2$ and the growth of molds, but in low temperature storage for 10 months it was in good shape showing the weight loss, the decay and the sprouting 2.6%, 3.4% and 26.8%, respectively.

  • Since 1962, the population growth control has been one of the most important aims in the 5-Year So-cioeconomic Development Plans of Korea. The annual population growth rate has dropped to tess than 1 percent in 1990 from about 3 percents in 1960s, and projected to reach to $\ulcorner$0$\urcorner$ percent in 2021. From 2021, Korean population will decrease and the age structure will be distorted because birth rate will drop suddenly and continuously. Thus, we can consider $\ulcorner$0$\urcorner$ growth population for minimizing the prob- lems on the decreasing population. To discuss the problems caused from the changes of population size and age- sex composition, we projected three kinds of population including two kinds of $\ulcorner$0$\urcorner$ growth population under different as- sumptions. The first is the population which extended the projection of National Statistical Office up to 2090. Because the TFR is assumed and fixed as low as 1.63 after 1990, the population growth rate will be under $\ulcorner$0$\urcorner$ in 2021 and drop by about 1 percent every year from around 2050. This population trend results to old age population : 38.1 of old- age dependency ratio and 46.5 years of median age. The second is the population which the size in 2021 projected by the NOS continues after 2021. To change over from the decreasing population after 2021 to the $\ulcorner$0$\urcorner$ growth one, the TFR should be in-creased up to over 3.0 in 2040-2050, which fertility level would be too high to be accepted. The third is the population which approaches to the $\ulcorner$0$\urcorner$ growth population under the assumptions that the TFR increases from 1.63 to 2.1 in the period of 2010-2030 and then the same level continues. Although the maximum population size reaches 51, 503 thousand persons, the population will approach to the stationary population with about 42.4 million persons around 2090. In this projected population there is no more serious problems on population composition, on the rapid decrease of population, and on the increase TFR level. When the $\ulcorner$0$\urcorner$ growth population continues the problems of over population caused by the populationincrease wou]d be minimized, and the problems of unusual age composition resulted from the popula-tion decrease would not be found any more. Furthermore, when the changes of population size and composition is continuing slowly, the factors of population would effect moderately to socioeconomic development and help social changes. Therefore, with the attention of the present population changes, we should adapt new and detailde population policy which is able to get the $\ulcorner$0$\urcorner$ growth population.

  • These studies were attempted to find out the optimum silk reeling system by use of automatic silk reeling machine to increase raw silk yield and reeling efficiency with various silk reelable cocoons. The obtained results are as follows; 1. The mean silk reelability ratio(X)of the Korean cocoons during the last ten years was 61 per cent, beside 64.7 per cent in autumn cocoon and 57.3 per cent in spring cocoon. However, the ratio variation of autumn cocoons was larger than that of spring cocoons. 2. A positive correlation between cocoon filament breaks during its process and silk reelability levels was shown to be significant. The cocoons of both poor and good reelability evidenced "J" shape distribution on the filament break graph by the order of reeling cocoon end. Many bave breaks were found at the inner shell of the cocoons, or in case of poor reelability cocoons. 3. The morphology of broken cocoon ends during the process was classified into A, B, C, D, E and F types, The occurrence of B type was majority, but that of F type was minority among them. 4. In case of the cocoon cooking, H-type ion-exchanged soft water was better for good reelability cocoons, Na and H-type ion exchanged neutral soft water for those of fair reelability, and alkaline (Na-type) soft water for those of poor reelability, respectively. 5. The modification of cooking water by mixing the above different types of water (50% Na-type and 50% H-type passed by standard natural water; 75% Na-type and 25% H-type passed by hard natural water; 25% Na-type and 75% H-type passed by soluble natural water) made higher yield of raw silk with tess breaks of thread. 6, In case cocoon ends groping water included sodium hexametaphosphate as much as 800 ppm. the groping efficiency and raw silk yield of cocoon was improved. The effect was pronounced in case of poor reelability cordons. 7. The most reasonable cocoon cooking and silk reeling condition for automatic silk reeling process were observed to be rather incomplete cook with good reelability cocoons and optimum cook with poor reelability cocoons succeeded by the reeling bath temperature of 45$^{\circ}C$, 8. The reasonable silk reeling velocities were observed to be about 150m per min. for good reelability cocoons, 120m per min. for fair reelability ones and 90 to 120m per min. for poor reelability ones. 9. In order to improve the raw silk yield of cocoons and reeling efficiency, the cocoon stand-by-ratio for reeling should be kept at the level of 40 per cent for good reelability cocoons or at 60 per cent for poor reelability ones beside necessary end found cocoon condition.

  • An experiment on the growth of common carp by feeding low (animal) protein feed when stocked at a rotatively low rate of density was conducted in 1976 at the fish pond of the National fisheries University of Busan. Three ponds averaging $454m^2$ were used with rations of different combinations of feed in respect to protein content. Each pond was equally stocked with 72 general common carp averaging 81.2g and 28 colored common carp averaging 37.8g and the fish were fed for 189 days. In the first pond where the feed with $20\%$f ish meal content ($19.0\%$ crude protein) was fed, the general common carp grew to 776.2g average (63 survived), colored common carp to 504.2g (24 survived), and total average to 701.1g (87 survived). In the second pond where $35\%$ fish meal feed ($27.3\\%$ crude protein) given, the fish grew to 792.9g (70 survived), 539.1g (23 survived) and 730.1g(93 survived), respectively, and in the third pond where $50\%$ fish meal feed ($34.6\%$ crude protein) given, the fish grew to 983.7g (49 survived), 630.4g (23 survived) and 870.8g (72 survived), respectively. A significant mortality during the experiment was due to an accidental introduction of Trichodina and Dactylogyrus infected with the stocked fish under experiment at the beginning. In this experiment the rate of harvest per hectare was very low being 1,352kg, 1,495kg and 1,447kg respectively which is tess than half of the yield at general commercial fish ponds. Therefore, it is concluded that at this rate of reduced production trial, the content of protein in the feed must not be cut down from the normal level.
