저속 서보메카니즘의 마찰 보상방법 (A Friction Compensation Method for Low Speed Servomechanisms)

  • In controlling servomechanism, such as X-Y tables, friction is one of the most significant source of tracking error. Existing friction models work well when the direction of the motion does not change. However, when the direction of motion changes such as traversing a circular profile, relatively large tracking errors referred to as 'quadrant glitches' are introduced. In this paper, a new friction model, which has a term that can compensate the effect of the quadrant glitches, is proposed. The performance and effectiveness of the proposed model are evaluated through the experimental work. The results show that the controlling servomechanism with the proposed model completely remove the quadrant glitches.

  • Recent economic growths have accelerating much construction activities of various infrastructures, such as Express railway, Long-span bridges, Multi-story Buildings and etc. Reinforcement steel corrosion to be inevitably caused under the progress of these construction activities have been on and off serious problems in the site, which could incur another tragedic accident to us suffering from safety-ignorance disease. Thus, it is strongly requested to develop probable innovative products which could remove corrosive materials on rebars and also protect steel corrosion of reinforced concrete structures in the construction site. Hydro-Seal and Steel-Seal could solve these problems currently faced with in the construction site. The objective of this research is to experimentally evaluated the effect of Hydro-Seal and Steel-Seal in reinforced concrete structures, of which usage might affect the bond strength between steel and concrete, long-term compressive strength of concrete, corrosion resistance and etc. Related test results show that appropriate dosage of Hydro-Seal and Steel-Seal in reinforced concrete structures didnot affect physical properties of reinforced concrete structures.

Bioabsorbable osteofixation for orthognathic surgery

  • Orthognathic surgery requires stable fixation for uneventful healing of osteotomized bony segments and optimal remodeling. Titanium plates and screws have been accepted as the gold standard for rigid fixation in orthognathic surgery. Although titanium osteofixation is the most widely used approach, the use of bioabsorbable devices has been increasing recently. Biodegradation of bioabsorbable devices eliminates the need for a second operation to remove metal plates and screws. However, long-term stability and relapse frequency in bioabsorbable osteofixation are still insufficiently studied, especially in cases of segmental movements of great magnitude or segmental movements to a position where bony resistance exists. This paper reviews the background, techniques, and complications of bioabsorbable osteofixation and compares bioabsorbable and titanium osteofixation in orthognathic surgery in terms of skeletal stability.

Compensation of a Squint Free Phased Array Antenna System using Artificial Neural Networks

  • This paper describes an advanced compensation for non-linear functions designed to remove steering aberrations from phased array antennas. This system alters the steering command applied to the antenna in a way that the appropriate angle commands are given to the array steering software for the antenna to point to the desired position instead of squinting. Artificial neural networks are used to develop the inverse function necessary to correct the aberration. Also a straightforward antenna steering function is implemented with neural networks for the 9-term polynomials of forward steering function. In all cases the aberration is removed resulting in small RMS angular errors across the operational angle space when the actual antenna position is compared with the desired position. The use of neural network model provides a method of producing a non-linear system that can correct antenna performance and demonstrates the feasibility of generating an inverse steering algorithm.

  • Most faults that occur on transmission lines are caused by extreme weather with lightning storms in the distance. These are not only prolongs the time of removing and recovering, but also increases economical damages. If faults can be precisely located, maintenance crews can reach them quickly, and remove the faults in time. So, the precise locating of the faulted point on a transmission line is very important to improve the system reliability, and decreases economic damages as an inherent consequence of long term outages. Also, fault location methods are becoming of much importance for utilities and research. In this paper, two single-terminal impedance-based fault location techniques will be investigated to show the reliability and evaluated the performance of reactance and Takagi method by using MATHCAD program simulations.

Endoscopic hemostasis using an over-the-scope clip for massive bleeding after percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy removal: a case report

  • Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) is a common method for providing long-term enteral nutrition to patients. PEG tube placement and removal are relatively safe; generally, a PEG tube can be removed using gentle traction, and excessive bleeding is rare. The over-the-scope clip system is a new device that can be used for gastrointestinal hemostasis and for closing gastrointestinal fistulae. In the present case, a 68-year-old male patient had to remove the PEG tube because of persistent leakage around the PEG tube. Although it was gently removed using traction, incessant bleeding continued, with a Rockall score of 5 points, even after hemocoagulation was attempted. An over-the-scope clip device was used to achieve hemostasis and fistula closure.

반도체 산업환경에서의 방진복 디자인의 개발 (Development of Cleanroom Garment Design in Semiconductor Industrial Environment)

  • Based upon literature survey and questionnaire survey, this research tries to develop four new Cleanroom Garment in semiconductor industrial environment. The designs emphasize to minimize workers disconmfort so that they can not only cover human body fully but also reduce dust as much as possible during work hour in clean room. The new designs characteristics and results from both function test and dust emission test are as follows: 1. In order to reduce dust-emission, we develop new designs with hood, kimono sleeve, and back zipper. The designs with hood face positive test results in term of motion suitability and dust-omission. The design with seam in front, in particular, is effective to control dust-emission. 2. For the purpose of reducing dust-emission, we also emphasize to minimize ease of dust-proof wear, with reference to previous research and clothing experiment. The experiment participants report that the new wears are not so comfortable as existing ones, but they accept the new wears positive as effective in reducing dust-emission owing to reduced ease of Cleanroom Garment and sleeves. 3. A1so to reduce dust-emission in inner wear, we put inner wear in both Cleanroom Garments and inner wear, resulting to remove discomfort of wearers when changing clothes and of tight waist due to inner-trousers. 4. We develop new designs with elastic bands in both waist through the side lines and with velcro only at the back side. To remove twist in front contributes to reduce emission arising out of friction, also to free the appearance minding woman workers from worrying about exposed stomach. The new designs need to be accepted as a valuable alternative of Cleanroom Garment, in that they are highly effective to reduce dust-emission, which is the most important factor in the wear, in spite of some drawbacks in terms of motion-suitability, ease and appearance as shown in wearing test.

빅데이터를 활용한 근골격계 표준의료용어에 대한 키워드 네트워크 분석 (A Keyword Network Analysis of Standard Medical Terminology for Musculoskeletal System Using Big Data)

  • 본 연구는 근골격계 질환으로 입원한 환자의 의무기록지 키워드 네트워크 분석을 통해 근골격계와 관련된 표준의료용어를 유추하여 보건의료현장의 비정형화된 데이터 활용 방안을 제시하기 위함이다. 분석 대상은 2010년부터 2019년까지 근골격계 질환 환자의 입퇴원요약지 145부로, 더아이엠씨(The IMC)에서 개발한 빅데이터 분석 솔루션인 TEXTOM을 활용하여 분석하였다. 1차·2차 정제과정을 통해 도출된 177개의 근골격계 관련 용어를 최종 분석하였다. 연구결과 다빈도 용어는 'Metastasis', 의료용어 체계별 분석 결과에서 임상소견은 'Metastasis', 증상은 'Weakness', 진단은 'Hepatitis', 처치는 'Remove', 신체구조는 'Spine', 약물은 'Oxycodone'이 가장 많이 사용되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 정형화되지 않은 의료데이터의 분석과 활용 및 관리 방안에 대한 시사점을 제안하고자 한다.

  • Landsat 위성은 지구표면을 장기간 관측한 대표적인 광학위성으로 재난 대비/복구 모니터링, 토지 이용 변화, 변화 탐지, 시계열 모니터링 등의 장기적인 변화에 활용하기 적합한 위성이다. 본 연구에서는 간단하고 효율적으로 구름을 탐지 및 제거하기 위해 QA밴드를 이용하여 구름 및 구름 그림자를 탐지하였다. 그 다음, 참조영상의 화소값을 직접 참조하는 것이 아닌 복원을 수행할 영상 내 화소값으로 복원을 수행하는 SSG 알고리즘을 통해 영상의 결측영역을 복원하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 지표를 관측하는 기존의 가시광선 영역뿐만 아니라 열 파장대역의 다양한 토지피복 상태의 정보를 복원하여 정량·정성적으로 평가함으로써 변형된 SSG 알고리즘의 활용 가능성을 제시하고자 하였다.

NTrend 1.0에 의한 낙동강 수질 장기변동 추세분석 (Long-Term Water Quality Trend Analysis with NTrend 1.0 Program in Nakdong River)

  • The effect of seasonality on water quality variation is very significant. Generally, it reduce the power of the trend extraction. A parametric time-series model was used for detecting trends in historic constituent concentration data. The effect of seasonality is able to remove from time series decomposition technique. According to such statistic methode, long-term water quality trend analysis system (NTrend 1.0) was developed by Nakdong River Water Environmental Research Center. The trend analysis of BOD variation was conducted with NTrend 1.0 at Goreong and Moolkum site in Nakdong river to show the effect of water quality management action plan. Power test of trend extraction was tried each case of 'deseasonalized and deannulized' data and 'deseasonalized' data. Analysis period was from 1989 to 2006, and it's period was divided again three times, 1989~1993, 1994~1999 and 2000~2006 according to action plan period. The BOD trend was downward in Goreong site during three times and it's trend slope was very steep, and upward in Moolkum during 1989~1993, but it was turned downward during 1994~1999 and 2000~2006. It was revealed that it's very effective to reduce the concentration of BOD by water quality management action plan in that watershed. The result of power test was shown that it is high for trend extraction power in case of 'deseasonalized' data.
