  • The term system architecting(SA) is widely used in systems engineering area, however the explicit meaning of the term varies considerably from person to person depending on his expertise and viewpoints. In this paper, we surveyed the range of variations in definitions and present the summary. Additionally, the definition of robust system architecting is suggested along with the associated system architecture guides that can be followed during an architecture development. This guide exposes various viewpoints of architecture such as art side, requirement specification, system view, principles, tools and environment.

  • What is learning in the math classroom? Does a new term need to be coined for learning? Is the term over-used and it has lost it meaning? The responses of one hundred four teacher candidates and graduate students were coded using the five levels researcher designed rubric which was modeled after Bloom's Taxonomy for depth of knowledge. The effects of understanding learning include the preparation of lesson plans, classroom instruction, the guiding of student learning, and the professional development of teacher leaders.

  • The 2015 revised mathematics curriculum had newly introduced the term 'process-focused assessment'. The official document, however, did not offer an explicit definition of the new term, but only by virtue of narrative. This has encouraged practitioners and researchers to figure out themselves what it is and how it differs from those in use, formative assessment and performance assessment in particular, in use. In consequence, many versions of interpretation, all of which are not necessarily consistent, have been developed and implemented in schools, This, in turn, still has created a chaotic situation carrying out the process-focused assessment. This study attempted to make the meaning of the process-focused assessment more explicit by conducting a comprehensive review of the related literature, for implementing it in its intended way.

  • With increasing of Korean family's revenue and pursuing quality of life, outdoor food and meal industry is rapidly growing up. Thus employee's service quality is much more needed in this industry. This paper reviewed the relationship between employee empowerment and service quality. The first purpose of this research is to test the effects of employee empowerment on service quality, and the second purpose is to test the moderating effects of sex and tenure on the relationships between employee empowerment and service quality. According to statistical analysis, meaning, competency, and autonomy generally had an affirmative impact on many service quality factors. Also the results of moderating regression analysis showed that long term employees were more sensitive to autonomy than short term employees.

  • The term "Privatization" has a different meaning in different contexts and cultures. In this paper, the term "Privatization" in the context of airports is defined as the movement of an entity from the government sector to the private sector. This is the definition that is commonly employed in the U.S. Airport revenue can he divided into two sub-categories of aeronautical revenue and non-aeronautical revenue. At many of the major international airports, however, non-aeronautical revenue has been growing faster than the aeronautical revenue, contributing an increasingly larger share of the total revenue. And the best way to enhance simultaneously the airport operations. With the remarkable growth in the air traffic volume of pssengers and cargo. more and more mega-international airports have been built or are under construction. As the air transport demand is expected to increase at an even greater rate in the 21st century, new types of airports which will be free of current major problems. such as airport congestion and flight delays are badly needed.

  • Objectives : This study was conducted to infer the effect of superficies-resolveing herbs by analyzing effect terms which have extracted and refined, based on four temperatures and five tastes. Methods : Firstly, temperatures, tastes and effect terms were extracted from the 27 kinds of superficies-resolving herbs written in Herbology. Then, each effect terms was divided into single meaning term and refined as typical term, using the inclusive effect terms I established. After that, herbs were grouped by tastes and found the effect terms which are mentioned most frequently. Results & Conclusions : All the superficies-resolving herbs can have wind-dispelling effect and superficies-resolving effect, except Bulpleuri Radix. This herb is able to has just the wind-dispelling effect. And it's more appropriate to categorize Bulpleuri Radix to heat-clearing herb group than superficies-resolving herb group, considering its several, distinctly cold characteristics. Some effects are concentrated to wind-cold-dispersing herb group and others to wind-heat-dispersing herb group. Each tastes has its own representative effect group.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this qualitative study was to describe the essence and the meaning of nurses' experiences of end-of-life care (EOLC) for elderly patients in the long-term care hospitals (LTCHs). Methods: Data were gathered from 12 nurses who had been working at LTCHs in Korea through one-on-one interviews and the data were analyzed by Colaizzi's phenomenological method. Results: The emergent 5 themes were 'Doing the best for protecting patients' life', 'Providing a comfortable dying process for patients', 'Supporting a family's keeping on patient's death', 'Reflecting on life' and 'Desiring for the establishment of a humanity end-of-life care environment'. Conclusion: The end-of-life care for the elderly patients includes supporting elderly patients' comfortable dying process and helping the family keep the death of the elderly. The results indicated that physical facilities and end-of-life nursing capacity should be established in LTCHs for improving the quality of EOLC.

  • Purpose: Indoor air quality in residential buildings needs to be evaluated over the long term. In previous research, there has been an attempt to perform the health risk assessment of pollutants by using numerical models as a method of long-term evaluation. However, the numerical model of this precedent study has limitations that do not reflect the actual concentration distribution. Therefore, this study introduces the CRPS index, constructs a numerical model that can reflect the concentration distribution, and then presents a more accurate health risk assessment method using it. At this time, the pollutants are toluene, which is a typical material released from building materials. Method: CRPS index was applied to existing numerical model to reflect concentration distribution. This was used to calculate concentrations at adult breathing area and to use them for exposure assessment in a health risk assessment. After that, we entered adult data and conducted a health risk assessment of toluene. Results: The non-carcinogenic risk of toluene was calculated to be 0.0060. This is 5% smaller than the existing numerical model, meaning that it is more accurate to predict the pollutant risks. This value is also lower than the US EPA reference value of 1. Therefore, under the conditions of this study, long-term exposure of adults to toluene has no impact on health.

  • Background: This study explores the pathways of nurse turnover in long-term care hospitals (LTCHs) and its underlying conditions in Korea. Although the factors of staying or leaving of nurses in LTCHs have been reported, few studies have examined the trajectory and conditions of nurses staying in and leaving LTCHs. Methods: A qualitative study design with a grounded theory approach was conducted. Data were collected in one-to-one interviews. Purposive and theoretical sampling led to the inclusion of 20 registered nurses from 15 LTCHs in South Korea. Results: Seeking work-life balance was the core category of the nurses' turnover pathway. The consequences of the nurses' turnover pathway were categorized into three groups: thriving, surviving, and leaving. Thriving nurses found meaning in their work, fostered good relationships, and saw opportunities for growth. Surviving nurses were enduring their jobs in LTCHs, having a work-life balance, and supportive nursing leaders. Leaving group nurses wished to leave LTCHs due to a lack of professional growth, unappealing work, continued conflict, and social stigma. Conclusion: This study provided the trajectory and conditions for nurses to enter, stay, move, or leave. Understanding the pathways for staying or leaving can be used as a strategy for successful retention of registered nurses in LTCHs.

  • The term 'memory' has acquired so many meanings today that it is not even confined to the mental domain any longer, although it is etymologically derived from the Anglo-Saxon word 'gemund', meaning mind. In its most typical sense, memory can be defined as 'the reawakening of the past in the service of present'. But in many papers, the term memory has been used in a various different meaning, which made the interpretation of the research result very complicated. Recently there has been tremendous development in the neurobiological researches with regard to the memory. This paper reviewed the concept, history, and current tendencies of the memory and memory researches comprehensively for the purpose of showing future direction of the memory researches.
