The Design of Contents Services Server for Telematics (텔레매틱스 컨텐츠 서비스 서버 설계)

  • 가정에서건 사무실에서건 혹은 이동 중에도 무선 이동 통신, 인터넷, 각종 디지털 기기를 통해 자유롭게 정보를 교환하고 원하는 서비스를 이용할 수 있는 새로운 네트워크 시대가 열리고 있다. 단순한 운송수단이었던 자동차도 무선 통신과 GPS 기술을 바탕으로 차내 이동형 정보서비스를 지원하는 텔레매틱스 서비스를 도입하면서, 도로상에서 다양한 서비스를 이용할 수 있는 환경을 제공하고 있다. 이로 인해 텔레매틱스 서비스를 위한 핵심기술 개발에 대한 수요도 증가하고 있으며, 그 중에서도 사용자 및 차량으로부터의 서비스 요청을 처리하고, 다양한 컨텐츠 제공자 및 서비스 제공자와의 연계를 지원하기 위한 텔레매틱스 서버에 대한 필요성이 증대되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 항법 맵, POI, 실시간 교통정보 등 텔레매틱스 핵심 컨텐츠를 상호 연계하여 이를 사용자에게 효율적으로 서비스하기 위한 텔레매틱스 컨텐츠 서비스 서버를 설계하였다. 이를 통해 향후 텔레매틱스 서비스를 위한 시스템 구축 시 상호운용성과 확장성을 제공함으로써, 국내 텔레매틱스 서비스의 조기 활성화에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

  • 최근 차량에 설치된 단말기를 통해 길안내 서비스, 교통정보 서비스 등 다양한 정보를 제공하는 텔레매틱스 서비스가 활발하게 연구되고 있다. 하지만 현재 대다수의 텔레매틱스 서비스는 최대 15m 의 공간오차를 가진 GPS 기술을 이용하기 때문에 차량의 정확한 위치정보를 파악하기는 힘들다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 무선 센서노드를 이용해 GPS 보다 정확한 차량의 위치정보와 속도를 감지하고 노드 간 통신 프로토콜로서 Telematics Scheduling Protocol(TSP)[1]을 사용하여 교차로 중앙에 위치한 베이스 스테이션으로 전송하여 교차로에서 발생할 수 있는 차량 충돌을 예측하며 충돌 위험 정보를 교차로에 근접한 자동차에게 알려주는 텔레매틱스 교통안전시스템[1]을 소개한다. 또한 교통안전시스템으로서의 신뢰성과 실시간성을 비교평가하기 위하여 TSP 프로토콜, IEEE 802.11[2]과 802.15.4[3]를 대상으로 네트워크 시뮬레이터 ns-2[4]를 이용하여 시뮬레이션한다.

Design and Implementation of a Markup Language for Exchanging Telematics Data (텔레매틱스 데이터 교환을 위한 마크업 언어의 설계 및 구현)

  • Telematics services are being widely used recently. However, data sharing is restricted because data representations among telematics severs and terminals are not yet standardized. Moreover, changes of some data items can cause the modification of telematics software. To resolve the problem, we define an XML-based markup language, called tele-XML, for the standard representation of telematics data, and design a framework and related schema for the tele-XML. We also implement API libraries and program modules for the processing of tele-XML documents. By using the proposed representation and processing scheme, the previous problem can be resolved.

  • The ongoing proliferation of new services, applications, and contents is leading the Internet to an architectural crisis owing to its inability to provide efficient solutions to new requirements. Clean-slate architectures for the future Internet offer a new approach to tackle current and future challenges. This proposal introduces a novel clean-slate architecture in which the TCP/IP protocol stack is decoupled in basic functionalities, that is, atomic services (ASs). A negotiation protocol, which enables context-aware service discovery for providing adapted communications, is also specified. Then, we present how ASs can be discovered and composed according to requesters' requirements. In addition, a media service provisioning use case shows the benefits of our framework. Finally, a proof-of-concept implementation of the framework is described and analyzed. This paper describes the first clean-slate architecture aligned with the work done within the ISO/IEC Future Network working group.

A Study on Efficient Infrastructure Architecture for Intersection Collision Avoidance Associated with Sensor Networks

  • The intersection collision avoidance service among various telematics application services is regarded as one of the most critical services with regard to safety. In such safety applications, real-time, correct transmission of service is required. In this paper, we study on efficient infrastructure architecture for intersection collision avoidance using a cooperative mechanism between vehicles and wireless infrastructure. In particular, we propose an infrastructure, called CISN (Cooperative Infrastructure associated with Sensor Networks), in which proper numbers of sensor nodes are deployed on each road, surrounding the intersection. In the proposed architecture, overall service performance is influenced by various parameters consisting of the infrastructure, such as the number of deployed sensor nodes, radio range and broadcast interval of base station, and so on. In order to test the feasibility of the CISN model in advance, and to evaluate the correctness and real-time transmission ability, an intersection sensor deployment simulator is developed. Through various simulations on several environments, we identify optimal points of some critical parameters to build the most desirable CISN.

  • In this paper, existing technology that uses broadcasting and multicasting IP addrsses at the wireless access network, based on Internet as a core network, is upgraded. By employing broadcasting service request by receivers, convergence of multicasting and broadcasting, and lower level filtering of broadcast data, the load and traffic of network, server, base station, and receiver is substantially reduced. The technology proposed in this paper could be useful for general broadcasting services, and especially optimum for LBS and Telematics services.

  • In this paper, a telematics service platform, which supports the management and diagnosis of automobile and controls the automobile's convenience equipment is designed and implemented. Using the service platform, telematics software can be developed independent of the lower part of automobiles's network devices, each hardware devices, and wireless network devices. The platform classifies each device's service and provides it with the fixed form of API(Application Programming Interface). This API consists of the wireless connection for a mobile device, the CAN network for controlling an automobile, the receiving part of GPS data for location base service, and the message parser for different data formats of different network.
