M-추정을 사용한 국방과학기술 수준조사 기술성장모형의 이상치 제거 (Elimination of Outlier from Technology Growth Curve using M-estimator for Defense Science and Technology Survey)

  • Technology growth curve methodology is commonly used in technology forecasting. A technology growth curve represents the paths of product performance in relation to time or investment in R&D. It is a useful tool to compare the technological performances between Korea and advanced nations and to describe the inflection points, the limit of improvement of a technology and their technology innovation strategies, etc. However, the curve fitting to a set of survey data often leads to model mis-specification, biased parameter estimation and incorrect result since data through survey with experts frequently contain outlier in process of curve fitting due to the subjective response characteristics. This paper propose a method to eliminate of outlier from a technology growth curve using M-estimator. The experimental results prove the overall improvement in technology growth curves by several pilot tests using real-data in Defense Science and Technology Survey reports.

Estimation of Growth Curves and Suitable Slaughter Weight of the Liangshan Pig

  • The Liangshan pig is a traditional Chinese small-sized breed; it has a relatively long feeding period and low meat production ability but superior meat quality. This study utilized three non-linear growth models (Von Bertalanffy, Gompertz, and logistic) to fit the growth curve of Liangshan pigs from an unselected, random-bred pig population and estimate the pigs most suitable slaughter weight. The growth development data at 20 time points of 275 Liangshan pigs (from birth to 250 d) were collected. To analyze the relative gene expression related to development, seven slaughter weight phases (50, 58, 66, 74, 82, 90, and 98 kg) (20 pigs per phase) were examined. We found that the Liangshan pig growth curve fit the typical S-curve well and that their growth turning point was 193.4 days at a weight of 62.5 kg, according to the best fit Von Bertalanffy model based on the goodness of fit criteria. Furthermore, we estimated that the most suitable slaughter weight was 62.5 to 74.9 kg based on the growth curve and the relative expression levels of growth-related genes.

Estimation of genetic relationships between growth curve parameters in Guilan sheep

  • The objective of this study was to estimate variance components and genetic parameters for growth curve parameters in Guilan sheep. Studied traits were parameters of Brody growth model which included A (asymptotic mature weight), B (initial animal weight) and K (maturation rate). The data set and pedigree information used in this study were obtained from the Agricultural Organization of Guilan province (Rasht, Iran) and comprised 8647 growth curve records of lambs from birth to 240 days of age during 1994 to 2014. Marginal posterior distributions of parameters and variance components were estimated using TM program. The Gibbs sampler was run 300000 rounds and the first 60000 rounds were discarded as a burn-in period. Posterior mean estimates of direct heritabilities for A, B and K were 0.39, 0.23 and 0.039, respectively. Estimates of direct genetic correlation between growth curve parameters were 0.57, 0.03 and -0.01 between A-B, A-K and B-K, respectively. Estimates of direct genetic trends for A, B and K were positive and their corresponding values were $0.014{\pm}0.003$ (P < 0.001), $0.0012{\pm}0.0009$ (P > 0.05) and $0.000002{\pm}0.0001$ (P > 0.05), respectively. Residual correlations between growth curve parameters varied form -0.52 (between A-K) to 0.48 (between A-B). Also, phenotypic correlations between growth curve parameters varied form -0.49 (between A-K) to 0.47 (between A-B). The results of this study indicated that improvement of growth curve parameters of Guilan sheep seems feasible in selection programs. It is worthwhile to develop a selection strategy to obtain an appropriate shape of growth curve through changing genetically the parameters of growth model.

Profiling of skeletal muscle tissue for long non-coding RNAs related to muscle metabolism in the QingYu pig at the growth inflection point

  • Objective: Investigation of muscle growth at different developmental stages is an appropriate strategy for studying the mechanisms underlying muscle development and differences in phenotypes. In particular, the muscle development mechanisms and the difference between the fastest and slowest growth rates. Methods: In this study, we used a growth curve model to fit the growth inflection point (IP) of QingYu pigs and compared differences in the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcriptome of muscle both at the growth IP and plateau phase (PP). Results: The growth curve of the QingYu pig had a good fit (R2 = 0.974) relative to a typical S-curve and reached the IP at day 177.96. At the PP, marbling, intramuscular fat, and monounsaturated fatty acids had increased significantly and the percentage of lean muscle and polyunsaturated fatty acids had decreased. A total of 1,199 mRNAs and 62 lncRNAs were differentially expressed at the IP compared with the PP. Additional to gene ontology and Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes pathway analyses, these differentially expressed protein coding genes were principally related to muscle growth and lipid metabolism. Conclusion: Our results suggest that the identified differentially expressed lncRNAs, could play roles in muscle growth, fat deposition and regulation of fatty acid composition at the IP and PP.

금융산업에서 IT투자와 경영성과의 상관관계에 관한 실증적 연구 (An Empirical Study on the Correlation of IT Investment and Management Performance in the Financial Industry)

  • The study investigated if IT investment in Korean financial markets for the past 18 years has grown following the s-curve pattern based on Nolan's growth model in order to find the correlation between IT investment and management performance in the financial industry. According to the research finding it can be said that the overall financial markets maintain s-curve pattern, and IT investment is related to management performance, particularly increase in total assets and net profit. However, each sector has defining features of growth patterns. The banking industry has grown similarly to the s-curve, and the insurance industry also shows the s-curve but it looks more like linear pattern. In terms of securities industry, its growth patterns can hardly be considered s-curve due to the irregular changes. his research outcome illustrates the analysis of IT growth patterns in the financial industry and thus, it is expected to be a useful reference when deciding the appropriate time for IT investment in the financial industry.

성장곡선을 이용한 소프트웨어 비용 추정 모델 (A Software Cost Estimation Using Growth Curve Model)

  • 정확한 소프트웨어 비용 추정은 개발자와 고객 모두에게 중요하다. 대부분의 비움 추정 모델들은 규모 추정으로부터 틴은 라인 수와 기능점수와 같을 규모 측도에 기반을 두고 있다. 규모 추정의 정확도는 비용 추정 정확도에 직접적으로 영향을 미친다. 이에 따라 대부분의 회귀기반 비용추정 모델들은 규모에 기반한 멱함수 형태를 적용하고 있다. 생물의 성장, 기술의 발전과 인간의 학습 능력 등 많은 성장 현상들은 S자 곡선을 따른다. 본 논문은 성장곡선을 이용하여 개발노력을 추정하는 모델을 제시하였다. 제시된 모델은 소프트웨어 규모가 증가함에 따라 소요되는 개발 비용이 성장곡선을 따른다고 가정한다. 일반적인 소프트웨어 규모 추정 기법인 기능점수, 완전기능점수와 유스케이스 점수에 기반하여 성장곡선 모델의 적합성을 검증하였다. 제안된 성장곡선 모델들은 멱함수 모델과 비교 시 상호 견줄만한 성능을 보여 소프트웨어 비용 추정분야에 석용 가능함을 보였다.

R-곡선과 직류전위차(DCPD)에 의한 SS400강의 파괴인성 평가 (An Evaluation of Fracture Toughness for SS400 Steel by R-curve and DCPD)

  • Fracture toughness defined near the initiation of stable crack growth is investigated by R-curve and Direct Current electric Potential Determination(DCPD) under mode I plane strain conditions for CT specimen with 25.4mm thickness of SS400 steel. Fracture toughness. $J_{IC}$lit near crack tip of CT specimen by R-curve is 17.14 $kg_{f}/mm$ and however. its value by DCPD is 22.82 $Rg_{f} mm$ The value of fracture toughness by DCPD is larger than that by R-curve. Therefore, it is suggested that the evaluation of fracture toughness by R-curve is optimum than by DCPD, when considering amount of crack growth about each of fracture toughness.

경남흑돈(버크셔)에서 성장곡선을 이용한 성장형질의 추정 (Estimation of Growth Traits Using Growth Curve in Gyungnam-heugdon (Berkshire))

  • 돼지의 중요한 경제형질인 성장형질은 검정기간동안의 증체량이나 특정한 체중에 도달하는 일수를 측정한다. 그러나 성장형질은 개체의 능력외의 다른 요인에 의해서도 영향을 받는다. 유전능력 평가를 위해서는 합리적인 측정치를 이용하여 불필요한 오류를 줄여야 한다. 이러한 요인에 의한 성장률의 차이를 줄이기 위하여 경남첨단양돈연구소의 경남흑돈(Berkshire) 1,576두의 자료를 가지고 성장곡선을 추정하여 성장곡선에 의해 일당증체량과 90kg 도달일령을 각각 추정하였다. 기존의 방법들과 정확도를 직접적으로 비교할 수 없으나 추정하는 방법론에 있어서 더 정교하여졌다. 이론적 우수성은 일당 증체량에서는 성장곡선상의 같은 연령을 비교하고, 90kg 도달일령에서는 종료체중 측정일에서 90kg 도달일까지의 일수를 개체의 성장곡선상의 일 증체량으로 계산하는 데에 있다. 또한 컴퓨터를 활용한다면 품종이나 성과 같은 요인들에 대해서도 이 추정방법을 쉽게 각각 적용할 수 있다.

  • 직경 55 mm의 ZnSe 단결정을 수소분위기에서 seeded chemical vapor transport법에 의해 성장하였고, 성장 parameter들이 결정 결함에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. Chemical etching에 의한 EPD 측정, X-ray rocking curve 측정, photolumlnescence 측정으로 성장된 단결정의 특성을 평가하였다.

  • 본 연구는 역대 CES에 출품된 디지털 TV의 특성을 기술의 수요곡선과 대체곡선의 관점에서 분류하여 살펴봄으로써 스마트 환경으로 진화하는 차세대 멀티미디어에 대한 예측을 제공하고자 하였다. 분석결과 초기 디지털 TV의 형태에서 기기 간 연결성(connected)을 키워드로 하는 2013년 등장한 스마트형 디지털 TV에 이르기까지 디지털 TV는 기술 수요 곡선을 따라 진화를 거듭해왔으며, 현재 상품으로서의 수명주기의 성숙기에 이르는 것으로 나타났다.
