  • LBD-007, a newly developed recombinant human interferon alphaA, was at dose levels of 0, 3$\times$$10^6$, 6$\times$ $10^6$ and 12$\times$1$10^6$ IU/kg/day administered subcutaneously to Sprague-Dawley male rats from premating to mating period and to females from premating to early gestation period. Effects of test agent on reproductive performance of both sexes and embryonic development were examined. 1. No treatment-relared changes in food consumption, body weight and necropsy findings were observed in parent animals.

Scarring the early-life microbiome: its potential life-long effects on human health and diseases

  • The gut microbiome is widely recognized as a dynamic organ with a profound influence on human physiology and pathology. Extensive epidemiological and longitudinal cohort studies have provided compelling evidence that disruptions in the early-life microbiome can have long-lasting health implications. Various factors before, during, and after birth contribute to shaping the composition and function of the neonatal and infant microbiome. While these alterations can be partially restored over time, metabolic phenotypes may persist, necessitating research to identify the critical period for early intervention to achieve phenotypic recovery beyond microbiome composition. In this review, we provide current understanding of changes in the gut microbiota throughout life and the various factors affecting these changes. Specifically, we highlight the profound impact of early-life gut microbiota disruption on the development of diseases later in life and discuss perspectives on efforts to recover from such disruptions.

우리나라 도로녹화(道路綠花)의 발전과정(發展過程)과 비탈면 녹화사업(綠化事業)의 전망(展望) (Prospects of Slope Revegetation Operation and Development Process of Highway Landscape Architecture)

  • In modern period, the history of highway landscaping can be divided into three stages. The first stage from the late 1960s to the early 1970s : during this period revegetation operation started and landscape architecture was introduced. The second stage from the late 1970s to the early 1980s : during this period the definition of functional planting which had played the most important role in highway landscaping was established. Also, highway landscaping was influenced by Japan, and the revegetation of highway slopes were applied with Seedspray, Block-sodding methods, and so on. The third stage from late 1980s to the present : during this period eco-landscaping was introduced and began to mix with ecosystem techniques. The revegetation works of cutting-rock slopes have widely been developed. Many people think that landscaping is necessary for us, and that revegetation method is effective to conserve slope environment. Based on accumulated data we have to improve the function of landscaping and revegetation method, and also have to establish the method of landscaping harmonized with our own landscape.

Analysis of Korea's nuclear R&D priorities based on private Sector's domestic demand using AHP

  • Korea successfully achieved energy independence in the shortest period of time from being the poorest country in terms of energy 50 years ago through steady development of nuclear technology. In the past, the nuclear industry has been driven through government-centered policy development, public institution-based research, and industrial facility and infrastructure construction. Consequently, South Korea became a nuclear energy powerhouse exporting nuclear power plants to the UAE, surpassing the level of domestic technological independence. However, in recent years, the nuclear industry in Korea has experienced a decline in new plant construction since the Fukushima accident in Japan, which caused changes in public perspectives regarding nuclear power plant operation, more stringent safety standards on the operation of nuclear power plants, and a shift in governmental energy policy. These changes are expected to change the domestic nuclear industry ecosystem. Therefore, in this study, we investigate the priority of technology development investment from the perspective of experts in private nuclear power companies, shifting the focus from government-led nuclear R&D policies. To establish a direction in nuclear technology development, a survey was conducted by applying an analytic hierarchy analysis to experts who have worked in nuclear power plants for more than 15 years. The analysis items of focus were the 3 attributes of strategic importance, urgency, and business feasibility of four major fields related to nuclear energy: nuclear safety, decommissioning, radioactive waste management, and strengthening industrial competitiveness.

Growth and Flowering before and after Storage of African Marigold and Salvia Seedlings Stored under Different Light Conditions

  • This study was conducted to investigate the growth and flowering of African marigold (Tagetes erecta L.) and salvia (Salvia splendens F. Sello ex Ruem & Schult.) seedlings before and after storage under fluorescent lamps and green LED radiation conditions with different light intensities during storage. The both seedlings were kept under a storage room controlled at $8^{\circ}C$ air temperature and $40{\pm}10%$ relative humidity conditions. Light intensities were maintained at 15 and $30{\mu}mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$ during storage. In lighting treatments, dry weight of African marigold at 28 days after storage was not significantly different, and decreased approximately 29% compared to pre-storage under dark treatment. There was no significant difference in the leaf area of salvia seedlings stored under dark condition compared to before storage, but the leaf area under green light radiation with higher light intensity (treatment GH) was two times greater than before storage. The survival rate after transplanting of African marigold stored under dark condition was 10%, and days to flowering increased compared to those stored under fluorescent and green light with higher light intensity (treatment FLH, GH). Comparing to before storage, growth and flowering of the both seedlings after storage were significantly promoted by the light exposure during storage. The present experimental results show that the light intensity should be decided to maintain minimum growth during lighting storage and storage quality of the seedlings such as flowering promotion and extended blooming period after lighting treatment during storage period from the above results.

  • Free-form buildings refer to geometric external structures in curved form, unlike conventional structures with straight lines. The development of construction technologies for the implementation of these Free-form buildings is ongoing. However, there are still many restrictions on the construction technology of Free-form buildings, resulting in problems such as increased construction period and increased construction costs. Therefore, it is urgent to develop building technology for the construction of Free-form building in order to secure competitiveness in the global Free-form building market. Accordingly, this study proposes Two-sided multi-point press technology that can solve problems of existing technology and implement FCP(Free-form Concrete Panel).

Mapping Publication Pattern in African Journal of Library, Archives and Information Science, 2009-2018: An Informetric Study

  • This informetrics study was conducted to find out the distribution of articles and authors that published in African Journal of Library, Archives and Information Studies [AJLAIS]) from 2009 to 2018; considering the year-wise growth of research articles; authorship pattern and collaboration ratio; subject and geographical distributions of authors; and authors' productivity level. A descriptive informetrics research design was adopted. Quota sampling technique was used to select all the articles published within the ten-year period. Data collected through a self-designed checklist was analyzed using frequency count and percentage. The findings revealed that 141 articles, contributed by 266 authors were published by AJLAIS during the period. An annual average growth of 1.20% was recorded. Overall year-wise authorship pattern revealed that majority of articles (62.41%) published in AJLAIS were multiple authored. Also, articles on Informetrics and ICT dominated the journal. Some subject areas not covered were identified such as: indexing and serial collections management. Average collaborative index across the 10-year period for the journal was 0.62. South Africa and Nigeria were the two major prolific contributors to AJLAIS, just as evidence-based research papers of survey type (65.25%) were the most common to the journal. There should be increased numbers of articles in each edition over the coming years, and awareness should be created by the publishers to familiarize the researchers with the publishing requirements of the journal. Also, LIS researchers should concentrate more on areas usually left untouched by previous studies. The study is original as no other similar study was found on publication pattern of articles in AJLAIS covering a ten year period of 2009-2018. The findings of the study will also serve as a feedback mechanism for the Publisher of the Journal and LIS researchers on how to improve the journal and LIS research in general.

재배기간에 따른 고구마(Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam) 전분의 이화학적 특성 (Physicochemical Characteristics of Sweetpotato (Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam) Starch Depending on Cultivation Periods)

  • 재배기간에 따른 고구마 전분의 특성을 구명하여 고구마의 새로운 식품산업 소재로서 활용방안을 모색하기 위한 기초자료로 이용하고자 실험한 결과는 다음과 같다. 재배기간이 길어질수록 전분 함량은 증가하였으나 아밀로스 함량은 감소하는 경향이었고, 일반고구마와 유색고구마의 전분함량 변화 양상에는 차이가 있었다. 재배기간이 길어질수록 전분의 수분함량 변화 양상은 일정한 경향을 보이지 않았으나 단백질과 회분 함량은 증가하는 경향이었다. 신속점도측정기로 측정한 점도는 재배기간이 길어질수록 전분의 호화개시온도와 최고점도, breakdown, setback은 증가하였고 최소 및 최종점도는 감소하였다. 주사시차열량계를 이용한 호화특성은 재배기간이 길어질수록 To, Tp는 증가하였으나 Tc, ${\Delta}T$, ${\Delta}H$는 일정한 변화 양상을 보이지 않았다. X-선 굴절률은 일반고구마의 회절각도는 $15.08-15.32^{\circ}$, $16.92-17.72^{\circ}$, $22.90-23.62^{\circ}$, '신자미' $15.26-15.34^{\circ}$, $17.08-17.32^{\circ}$, $22.74-23.40^{\circ}$, '주황미' $14.98-15.32^{\circ}$, $17.00-17.38^{\circ}$, $22.82-23.40^{\circ}$에서 강한 피크를 보여 전분의 결정화도 형태 중 C형에 속하였으며 재배기간에 상관없이 고구마 전분의 결정화도는 일정하였다. 고구마 전분의 입자 형태는 재배기간에 상관없이 대부분 둥글고 타원형 모양을 하고 있었으며 일부 다각형의 입자 형태를 포함하고 있었다. 평균입도는 주황색고구마의 평균입도가 식용 및 자색고구마보다 컸으며 재배기간이 길어질수록 고구마 전분의 평균입도는 증가하였다.

부처간 정책갈등과 조정에 관한 연구 -과학기술기본법 제정과정을 중심으로- (A Study on Inter-Ministerial Policy Conflict and Coordination: Focusing on the Science and Technology Basic Law Making Process in Korea)

  • 본 연구는 1990년 이후 모방형에서 혁신형으로 과학기술정책의 패러다임이 변화되면서 과학기술정책형성을 둘러싸고 다양하게 발생하는 부처간 정책갈등 현상과 그 조정과정을 분석하였다. 연구를 위해 과학기술기본법(기본법) 제정과정을 사례로 선정하고, 연구의 시간적 범위를 '92년부터 '01년까지로 하여, 법률안 태동기, 과도기, 입법기 등 3개의 시기단위로 구분하여 비교 분석하였다. 부처간 정책갈등의 원인과 양상을 부처간 상호작용의 동기를 기준으로 정책 지향적 갈등과 관할권 지향적 갈등으로 구분 분석하였다. 갈등조정 방법의 분석은 수평적 분석적 조정과 수직적 정치적 조정을 그 기준으로 하였다. 연구결과를 부처간 정책 갈등양상, 정책갈등의 특징, 정책갈등의 조정과정, 그리고 참여자들의 특징적 양상 등을 중심으로 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 정책갈등은 태동기에는 부처간 정책지향의 차이에 따른 갈등이 관할권 지향에 의한 갈등보다 우위현상을 보였고, 과도기에는 정책 지향과 관할권 지향에 의한 갈등이 복합적으로, 그리고 입법기에는 관할권 지향에 의한 갈등이 지배적인 현상을 보였다. 둘째, 정책갈등에 대한 조정과정은 태동기에는 수평적 분석적 조정이 주류를 이루었고, 과도기에는 수평적 수직적 정치적 조정양상이 다양하게 나타났으며, 입법기에는 수직적 정치적 조정 양상이 두드러지게 나타났다. 셋째, 정책갈등에 대한 조정결과는 참여자들의 특징을 중심으로 분석하였다. 그 결과부처간 정책갈등을 해결하는 데 있어서 국회와 정당이 결정적인 역할을 했음을 보여주었다.

스마트시티 디바이스/기술과 아티팩트의 융합유형에 관한 연구 (A study on the Convergence Type of Smart City between Device/Technology and Artifact)

  • 본 연구는 스마트시티 공간에 적용된 디바이스/기술과 아티팩트의 융합유형을 도출 하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 주요연구 내용은 스마트시티에 적용된 환경기술(ET), 정보기술(IT), 환경 정보기술(ET+IT)의 융합 변화에 관한 심층 분석 이다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 31개의 사례분석을 통해 디바이스/기술과 아티팩트를 아래와 같이 도출 하였다. 아티팩트는 총 92개, 디바이스/기술은 환경기술 중심에서 83개, 정보기술 중심에서 51개, 총 134개 디바이스/기술 이다. 둘째, 디바이스/기술과 아티팩트 간의 융합 변화는 7개 유형에 의해 진화하고 있다. 유형1, 'ET중심의 진화형' 은 1기(분리융합), 2기(ET중심융합), 3기(ET중심으로 IT성장과 ET+IT융합) 이다. 유형2, 'ET+IT중심의 ET고도화형'은 1기(초기 ET+IT융합), 2기(ET 고도화, IT보조융합), 3기(ET 초고도화, IT보조융합) 이다. 유형3, 'ET+IT 일체화형'은 1기(ET, IT 개별융합), 2기(ET+IT 혼합융합), 3기(ET+IT 일체화 융합) 이다. 유형4, 'IT중심의 진화형'은 1기(IT중심으로 개발), 2기(IT중심의 고도화), 3기(IT중심의 초고도화) 이다. 유형5 6, 'ET+IT 동반 고도화형'은 1기(ET+IT중심의 IT개발), 2기(ET+IT중심의 IT고도화), 3기(ET+IT중심의 IT 초고도화) 이다. 유형7, 'ET+IT중심의 IT고도화형'은 1기(초기 ET+IT융합), 2기(ET보조융합, IT고도화), 3기(ET 보조융합, IT 초고도화) 이다. 본 결과는 향후 다양한 새로운 융합유형이 도출될 것이라 예상 된다.
