복잡하고 다양한 정보 속에서 빠른 정보 처리 디자인 -색의 범주화를 통한 빠른 정보처리 (The Design for the fast process in the complex and various information.)

  • 정보화 사회에서 정보의 양은 기술의 발달로 급격하게 증가하고 있다. 그로 인해 정보의 다양화와 복잡성 또한 증가하여 빠른 정보처리에 어려움을 주고 있다. 정보의 복잡성 속에 정보의 구조화, 범주화는 사용자가 쉽게 정보에 접근할 수 있게 만들며 처리 속도도 빠르게 해 준다. 본 연구는 정보의 범주화에서 색을 통한 범주화가 정보처리 속도 향상에 어떠한 영향을 주는지를 실험적으로 확인해 보려 한다. 실험 1은 복잡한 정보를 가진 노선도에서 역을 찾는 과제를 시행 하였을 때, target 역 이름의 색과 노선의 색이 동일 할 때 그렇지 않는 경우 보다 탐색시간을 빠름을 보여주고자 한다. 그리고 실험2는 단어 분류 과제에서 색의 범주화가 단어의미 범주화 보다 빨리 처리되며, 색의 대비가 클 때 더 효과적임을 보여 주고자 한다.

Co-Classification 방법을 이용한 태양전지 연구의 학제간 다양성 분석 (Co-Classification Analysis of Inter-disciplinarity on Solar Cell Research)

  • Technology is developed from the efficient interaction with other technology files while building up its own research field. This study analyzes the structure of solar cell research area and describes its paths of the technology development in terms of interdisciplinary diversity using the Co-Classification method during 1979-2009. As a results, 1,380 studies are determined as the interdisciplinary among the 2,605 studies. It shows that 52.98% of the solar cell researches have interdisciplinary relationships with two or more research fields. In addition, we show that the research area of solar cell technology is composed by Material Science, Multidisciplinary and Energy & Fuel, Physics, Applied, Chemistry, Physical from the Co-Classification matrix and network analysis. It means the complexity of the technological knowledge production increased with the concept of interdisciplinary. The results can be used for the planning of the efficient solar cell technology development.

  • Transgenic plant cell cultures for the production of biopharmaceuticals including monoclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins have been regarded as an alternative platform in addition to traditional microbial fermentation and mammalian cell cultures. Plant-made pharmaceuticals (PMPs) have several advantages such as safety, cost-effectiveness, scalability and possibility of complex post-translational modifications. Increasing demand for the quantity and diversity of pharmaceutical proteins may accelerate the industrialization of PMP technology. Up to date, there is no plant-made recombinant protein approved by USFDA (Food and Drug Administration) for human therapeutic uses due to the technological bottlenecks of low expression level and slight differences in glycosylation. Regarding expression levels, it is possible to improve the productivity by using stronger promoter and optimizing culture processes. In terms of glycosylation, humanization has been attempted in many ways to reduce immune responses and to enhance the efficacy as well as stability. In this review article, all these respects of transgenic plant cell cultures were summarized. In addition, we also discuss the general characteristics of plant cell suspension cultures related with bioreactor design and operation to achieve high productivity in large scale which could be a key to successful commercialization of PMPs.

Prospects of Application of Linkage Disequilibrium Mapping for Crop Improvement in Wild Silkworm (Antheraea mylitta Drury)

  • The wild silkworm, Antheraea mylitta Drury (Lepidoptera: Saturniidae) is a polyphagous silk producing insect that feeds on Terminalia arjuna, T. tomentosa and Shorea robusta and is distributed in the forest belts in different states of India. Phenotypically distinct populations of the A. mylitta are called "eco-race" or "ecotypes". Genetic improvement of this wild silkworm has not progressed much due to lack of adequate information on the factors that control the expression of most of the economically important traits. Considering the amazing technological advances taking place in molecular biology, it is envisaged that it is now possible to take greater control on these intractable traits if a combination of genetic, molecular and bioinformatics tools are used. Linkage disequilibrium (LD) mapping is one such approach that has extensively been used in both animal and plant system to identify quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for a number of economically important traits. LD mapping has a number of advantages over conventional biparental linkage mapping. Therefore, LD mapping is considered more efficient for gene discovery to meet the challenge of connecting sequence diversity with heritable phenotypic differences. However, care must be taken to avoid detection of spurious associations which may occur due to population structure and variety interrelationships. In this review, we discuss how LD mapping is suitable for the dissection of complex traits in wild silkworms (Antheraea mylitta).

Learning from Benchmarking: A Comparison of Iranian and Korean Foresight Exercises

  • What are some of the explanations for cross-national diversity of foresight performance among technological followers? Why are some countries more successful than others in learning how to develop national innovation system foresight? This paper argues that the answers are linked to organizational capacities at three different levels: governmental, policy network and social learning. To corroborate this argument, the paper chose Iran and Korea as benchmarking partners, and attempts to find out what makes Iran a slow learner in building innovation system foresight. The conceptual model is an improved model of Saritas's, by integrating Borras' and Andersen's conceptions and classifications. The data are collected from comprehensive interviews in both countries and second-hand data of international indexes. The paper, finally, concludes that it is the weakness of analytical-systemic capacity that impedes and delays the emergence of systemic foresight in Iran, and that this weakness stems from the adverse impacts of the dominant institutions, surrounding the innovation system. The final point is that it is not sufficient for Iran to learn the methods and techniques of foresight from Korea. It should learn how to open its macro-policy towards the global market and design appropriate industrial strategy in a coherent policy-strategy portfolio.

Designing a Vehicles for Open-Pit Mining with Optimized Scheduling Based on 5G and IoT

  • In the Recent times, various technological enhancements in the field of artificial intelligence and big data has been noticed. This advancement coupled with the evolution of the 5G communication and Internet of Things technologies, has helped in the development in the domain of smart mine construction. The development of unmanned vehicles with enhanced and smart scheduling system for open-pit mine transportation is one such much needed application. Traditional open-pit mining systems, which often cause vehicle delays and congestion, are controlled by human authority. The number of sensors has been used to operate unmanned cars in an open-pit mine. The sensors haves been used to prove the real-time data in large quantity. Using this data, we analyses and create an improved transportation scheduling mechanism so as to optimize the paths for the vehicles. Considering the huge amount the data received and aggregated through various sensors or sources like, the GPS data of the unmanned vehicle, the equipment information, an intelligent, and multi-target, open-pit mine unmanned vehicle schedules model was developed. It is also matched with real open-pit mine product to reduce transport costs, overall unmanned vehicle wait times and fluctuation in ore quality. To resolve the issue of scheduling the transportation, we prefer to use algorithms based on artificial intelligence. To improve the convergence, distribution, and diversity of the classic, rapidly non-dominated genetic trial algorithm, to solve limited high-dimensional multi-objective problems, we propose a decomposition-based restricted genetic algorithm for dominance (DBCDP-NSGA-II).

정밀영양: 개인 간 대사 다양성을 이해하기 위한 접근 (Precision nutrition: approach for understanding intra-individual biological variation)

  • In the past few decades, great progress has been made on understanding the interaction between nutrition and health status. But despite this wealth of knowledge, health problems related to nutrition continue to increase. This leads us to postulate that the continuing trend may result from a lack of consideration for intra-individual biological variation on dietary responses. Precision nutrition utilizes personal information such as age, gender, lifestyle, diet intake, environmental exposure, genetic variants, microbiome, and epigenetics to provide better dietary advices and interventions. Recent technological advances in the artificial intelligence, big data analytics, cloud computing, and machine learning, have made it possible to process data on a scale and in ways that were previously impossible. A big data platform is built by collecting numerous parameters such as meal features, medical metadata, lifestyle variation, genome diversity and microbiome composition. Sophisticated techniques based on machine learning algorithm can be used to integrate and interpret multiple factors and provide dietary guidance at a personalized or stratified level. The development of a suitable machine learning algorithm would make it possible to suggest a personalized diet or functional food based on analysis of intra-individual metabolic variation. This novel precision nutrition might become one of the most exciting and promising approaches of improving health conditions, especially in the context of non-communicable disease prevention.

A Study on the Scalability of Design Content Using Pixel Art

  • The pixel art style evolved from the shortcomings of computer image display technology has gradually transformed from a technical limitation into a widely recognized form of artistic expression since development in the early 20th century. This study analyzes the application and characteristics of the expandability of pixel art style design content in sub industries such as physical goods, environmental design, website design, digital art and illustration in the design field. It aims to explore the visual expression and sustainable development form of pixel art style under the development of new media technology that contradicts traditional technological concepts. The research results show that although the pixel art style generally pursues external visual features such as pixelated visual effects, sawtooth and matrix arrangements, its expansion in the art field shows a unique diversity of visual expressions. It has become an important means to convey nostalgic emotions and cultural values. Through this research, we hope to inspire more academic researchers and technology practitioners to explore the development potential of the pixel art style in emerging fields and promote its innovative application in design practice.

R&D 협력 파트너 유형 및 의존도와 혁신의 성과: 한국 벤처기업들을 대상으로 한 실증연구 (Type and Dependency of R&D Cooperation Partners and Innovation Performance: An Empirical Study with Korean Venture Firms)

  • 본 연구는 상대적으로 지식과 자원이 부족한 벤처기업이 외부의 다양한 유형의 파트너와 R&D 협력 관계를 효율적으로 활용, 관리하는 것을 통해 혁신 성과에 유의미한 영향을 줄 수 있음을 살펴보고 있다. 혁신은 벤처기업의 생존과도 직결되는 중요한 요인 중 하나로 여겨져 왔다. 일반기업과 달리, 벤처와 같이 자원의 제약이 있는 신생 기업의 경우 R&D 그 자체에 있어 필요한 자원이나 혹은 이러한 신기술 또는 아이디어를 독자적으로 상품화하고 시장에 내놓는데 필요한 자원이 부족한 경우가 많다. 따라서 이를 보완해 줄 외부 협력 파트너를 찾고 효율적으로 관리하는 것이 굉장히 중요한 이슈이다. 오늘날 대부분의 기업들은 하나의 협력 관계만을 보유하지 않고, 다수의 R&D 협력관계를 동시에 맺고 여러 파트너들과 교류하고 있다. 학자들은 이러한 여러 협력 관계를 포트폴리오적인 차원에서 효율적으로 관리하는 것의 중요성에 대해 언급하여 왔다. 협력관계를 맺고 유지하는데 있어서도 상당한 양의 시간과 자원 투자가 요구되며 관리차원의 주의(managerial attention)가 필요하기 때문에, 협력 관계를 전사(全社)차원에서 관리하여 효율성을 높이는 것이 중요하다. 자원의 부족이라는 벤처기업의 근본적인 특성을 생각해 볼 때, 벤처기업에게 있어서 더욱이 전사차원의 효율적 협력 관계 관리에 대한 고찰이 절실하게 필요하다고 할 수 있다. 본 연구를 통해 벤처기업의 협력 파트너 종류의 다양성과 협력 파트너에 대한 의존도의 다양성이 혁신성과에 미치는 영향을 살펴봄으로써, 보다 효율적인 협력 파트너 구성에 대하여 포트폴리오적인 시각에서 고찰하고자 한다. 2010년 제조업을 대상으로 한 한국기업혁신조사(KIS) 자료를 분석한 결과, 기존 기업 대비 벤처기업에게 있어서 R&D 협력이 혁신성과에 더욱 중요한 영향을 준다는 것을 확인하였다. 따라서 벤처기업은 이를 전사차원에서 효율적으로 관리하여야 하는데, 외부 파트너 유형의 다양성과 혁신 성과는 비선형적 관계(역 U자형)를 나타내므로, 다양성만을 지속적으로 추구할 것이 아니라 긍정적 효과를 상쇄하지 않는 범위 내에서 이를 유지하는 것이 중요하다는 것을 발견하였다. 더불어 각 파트너들에 대한 의존도는 다양하게 가져가는 것이 혁신성과에 중요하다는 결론을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • 한국을 포함해서 선진각국의 전기통신기술은 21세기의 고도정보사회를 전망하고, VI & P(Visual, Intelligent and Personal)서비스의 실현과 이것을 받쳐 주는 새로운 네트워크의 구축을 향해서 연구개발을 추진하고 있다. 전자에 대해서는 기술 시장동향의 장기적 파악과 더불어, 잠재적 필요에 상응한 서비스전개로부터 VI & P서비스에의 효율적인 이행까지를 가능케 하는 서비스의 연구개발에 대처하고 있다. 후자에 대해서는 장래에 걸쳐서 통신을 둘러싸는 환경의 다양화ㆍ분산화에 유연하게 대응해 나가기 위해, 네트워크를 전달계와 정보의 제어ㆍ변환을 짊어질 고기능계로 기능 분담하여, 각각의 고성능화에 전력하고 있다. 구체적으로 광주파수다중기술과 ATM기술을 중심으로 하는 고속ㆍ광대역의 전달계 기술, 정보를 고도로 제어ㆍ변환하기 위해서의 네트워크기술과 소프트웨어기술, 또한 멀티미디어서비스를 원만히 제공할 수 있는 새로운 액세스네트워크의 구축기술을 중심으로, 계속적으로 연구개발을 추진하고 있다. 기술자료는 우선, VI & P 실현에의 전망과 통신을 둘러싸는 새 조류를 표시한다. 다음에, 새로운 네트워크는 어떠한 존재라야 하는가\ulcorner 또 실현을 향한 주요기술과의 대처ㆍ혁신적 연구를 포함하는 최초의 연구 성과와 금후의 과제를 기술한다.
