With the advent of new order of international competition, the technology Policy of Korea has been changed from vertical one which focuses on specific technologies or selective industries to a horizontal one which supports R&D activities on a neutral basis. TIP(Technology Infrastructure Policy) is WTO free in the sense that it is Indirect method of supporting technology development and properly defined as a part of government role by OECD. Technology infrastructure is embodied in human capital, and includes also elements of physical capital and knowledge. Hence it is more differentiated than, and distinguished from conventional infrastructure. It implies a need for carefully designed strategy with the recognition of those differences. As a fundamental element of innovation and technological development, technology infrastructure should become the main focus of industrial technology Policy.

Purpose - This study reviews changes in the steel export-import structure between Korea and Japan using a trade related index; it focuses on analyzing comparative advantage based on time-series analysis statistics data using the trade intensity index (TII), revealed comparative advantage index (RCA), and trade specialization index (TSI). Research design, data, and methodology - In terms of their economic phase, Korea and Japan have a mutually complementary character. Therefore, this study aims to understand each country's trade structure to strengthen Korea-Japan economic cooperation, examine trade drawbacks, analyze factors that affect trade, and identify ways to improve and expand trade. Results - The results indicate immense potential for mutual cooperation and complementariness, which will yield guaranteed adequate profits comparable to those of any regional economic integrated community. Conclusion - From our viewpoint, Northeast economic cooperation can facilitate industry technological cooperation with Japanese partners in the prevailing environment that is characterized by increasing competition among industries and the need to secure stable resource supplies as well as the expansion of the export market and diversification, which can have significant positive implications.

Changing customer expectation, global competition, and technological requirements force firms to develop agile supply chain capabilities sustaining competitive advantage and business success. To respond, firms are seeking to enhance supply chain agility across the inter-organizational, this study explores the relationship between supply chain competence and supply chain agility on firm performance. The research reviews literature on supply chain capability and classifies capability into two categories as competence and capability based on resource based view and dynamic capabilities. It describes a framework to explore the relationships among supply chain competence (IT flexibility, supply chain flexibility, shared value), supply chain capability (supply chain agility), and firm performance (supply chain performance). The purpose of this study is to find the determinants of supply chain agility and improving firm performance in the perspective of vendor companies. The results indicate strong, positive, and direct relationships between supply chain competence and supply chain agility. Supply chain agility have significant relationships with firm performance. Implication for future research and practice are offered.

Under circumstances with increasing uncertainty, strategic flexibility has become an essential point on which my R&D management system should be based. Unfortunately the present R&D management system for government sponsored R&D programs cannot be said to be so flexible to adapt appropriately to various threatens such as technological failure, a severe change in competition environment, and so on. In this paper a new scheme for R&D planning and economic assessment with strategic flexibility is suggested and applied to a real R&D program. In the newly suggested R&D management system, economic valuation based on real option theory is performed for various alternative scenarios which have different strategic scheme for R&D process each and the result of the assessment is fed back to R&D planning to choose more superior strategic scheme. Introducing strategic flexibility into R&D planning and economic assessment, the value of R&D project could be remarkably enhanced.

Industrial management can be achieved in the improvement of productivities and goods qualities, only copy with international competition through technological renovation, This compels the renewal and augment of production equipments, for which more investment has to be projected. Equipment investment, However, has the possibility of assuring the expectation of profit, but the capricious reality of economical situation caused by inflation requires the precedent study of exmining, analyzing and assaying the effect of equipment investment for a long term. The resolution must depend on a technique of what is called engineering economy, which scrutinizes some samples of investment analysis under price fluctuations, which designates through a method of direct calculation that the only less scale of primal investment never bestows wider profit, and recognizes what contribution engineering economy has to the decision making of management.

While technological development being rapid, competition among companies have been very intensive over the world. The use and development of nuclear energy has a long history more than 5o years and is facing a rapid changing environment in technological innovations in order to meet the requirements of energy supply, environmental conservation and social and political demands. The innovation of nuclear technologies are also necessary continuously in order to contribute for the progress of national economy and industry development, improvement of public health, progress of nation science and technology and furthermore is very important for the survival of nuclear industry and strengthening of competition of nuclear technologies. Major directions of the innovation of nuclear technologies would be the enhance ment of safety and economy of the use of nuclear energy, securing od nuclear proliferation-resistance, safe management of radioactive wastes, technology development for newly emerging markets and improvement of public health.

Recently firms become largely changed because of rapid technological innovation and serious global competition. It induces job stress of workers and finally leads to job burnout. This study aims to find the effects of job demands and job resources on job burnout. Job demands contains role ambiguity, role conflict, role overload and job characteristics. Job resources contains job control and feedback, involvement in decision making, learning opportunity and social support. The result reveals that job demands raises job burnout and job resources decreases job burnout. And it reveals that the effects of job demands and job resources on job burnout differs slightly according to job categories.

This paper is concerned with the deployment of core technologies for automotive steel sheets, based on the structural change of global market. The main tasks of automotive industry are to ensure the energy consumption, environmental regulations, and driving safety. With social and legal requirements, this study analyzes the market creation processes with technological innovations for hot rolled, cold rolled and galvanized steel sheets during the 20th century. It has been proven that the leading country in the steel industry was also that in the automotive. The purchaser-supplier relations of sheet materials are then patternized in the regional markets of the United States and Japan, who share nearly 50% of market in the world. According to the paradigm shift of globalization, the balance of power in Porter's 5 forces has been moved to the buyers', and both industries pursue Win-Win strategies such as the PNGV(Partnership for a New Generation of Vehicles ) and design-in system with the competition.

The hybrid step motor has found applications in a wide range of mechanical systems as a low cost, open-loop positioning device. The step motor provides good stiffness at rest against disturbing load influences, a combination of moderate speed fine resolution, high reliability and simplicity. In recent years, considerable competition has arisen over the technological issue of wheather the device should be applied as a 2-Phase or 5-Phase machine. In this paper, to compare two systems, we have atempted to derive the mathematical. model, and analysed operating detent torque with this model. The analysis shows that a fundamental component of the permeance distribution produces the average torque and that harmonic components produce the ripple torque.
