Behaviour evaluation of shear connection by means of shear-connection strips

  • Comparison of behaviour of shear connections by means of shear-connection strips (perfobond and comb-shaped strips) and headed studs under static and repeated loading, possible failure modes of concrete dowels and ways of the quantitative differentiation of some failure modes are described in the paper. The article presents a review of knowledge resulting from the analysis of shear-connection effects based on tests of perfobond and comb-shaped strips carried out in the laboratories of the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Technical University of Kosice (TU of Kosice) in Slovakia and their comparison with results obtained by other authors.

SHM by DOFS in civil engineering: a review

  • This paper provides an overview of the use of different Distributed Optical Fiber Sensor systems (DOFSs) to perform Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) in the specific case of civil engineering structures. Nowadays, there are several methods available for extracting distributed measurements from optical fiber, and their use have to be according with the aims of the SHM performance. The continuous-in-space data is the common advantage of the different DOFSs over other conventional health monitoring systems and, depending on the particular characteristics of each DOFS, a global and/or local health structural evaluation is possible with different accuracy. Firstly, the fundamentals of different DOFSs and their principal advantages and disadvantages are presented. Then, laboratory and field tests using different DOFSs systems to measure strain in structural elements and civil structures are presented and discussed. Finally, based on the current applications, conclusions and future trends of DOFSs in SHM in civil structures are proposed.

BI기술을 적용한 약물부작용감시시스템 개발 (Development of Adverse Drug Event Surveillance System using BI Technology)

  • 본 연구에서는 국내 약물부작용감시시스템 연구의 활성화 및 상용화를 목표로 약물부작용 시스템 사례를 분석하고 비즈니스인텔리전스(BI) 기술을 적용하여 약물부작용감시시스템의 기술구조를 제시한다. 최근에는 전자적과정(electronic review)과 수동적 리뷰과정(manual review process)을 병행하는 방법으로 약물부작용을 탐지하는 추세이며, 본 연구에서는 BI 기술중 ETL(Extract, Transform, Loading)을 적용하여 CDW(Clinical DataWarehouse)구축하였다. 부작용 판별 결과 처방의사 701명, 대상 환자는 남자 1,528명, 여자 1,531명으로 기간 내 환자는 총 3059명 이었으며 이중에서 약물부작용으로 의심되는 사례는 전체 318,222건 중에서 약 0.6%에 해당하는 2,085건으로 확인되었다. 이를 신호별로 분류하면 단순유형의 T.Bilirubin> 3mg/dL(부작용 유형-LabR0005)가 전체 2085건에서 548건으로 가장 높았다.

A Case Study on BIM-enabled Evaluation of Design Alternatives for an Actual Remodeling Project in Korea - Focusing on the Spatial Program Review in Early Phase of Design -

  • This paper depicts a case study of the BIM (Building Information Modeling)-enabled evaluation of design alternatives for an actual remodeling project in Yeongwol, Korea. The increase of urban population and income followed by the growth of economy has derived massive supply of grand scale housing project in Korea since 1970s. Consequently, building remodeling became one of the feasible resolutions for renovating such old housings in these days. This paper aims to introduce a technical approach to such remodeling projects based on BIM-enabled applications focusing on quantitative analysis of design alternatives. Among the technical issues of such building remodeling projects, this paper focuses on the BIM-enabled area analysis and comparison between design alternatives to support decision-making even in early phase of remodeling design process. BIM and its variety of applications have broadly influenced the domain of AEC-FM (Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Facility Management) within the lifecycle of buildings. As one of the applications facilitated by BIM, the automated area calculation and scenario-based comparison between alternatives can play an important role in the early phase of remodeling project. We modeled three design alternatives (buildings) and three housing modules (units) based on the actual case in Yeongwol city, Korea using a BIM design authoring tool. Nine combinatorial BIM models were demonstrated for the BIM-enabled review process described in this paper. To determine the most optimal design scenario among nine alternatives, this paper demonstrates a result of the conducted spatial program review. The main subject includes specific spatial program issues on; 1) the number of unit spaces; and 2) area of individual/grouped and private/shared spaces.

  • This brief review is organized to integrate methodology of carotenoids chemistry from the author's experimental conceps. The majors include classification of carotenoids. extraction·phase separation, purification. crystalyzation, identification, quantitation, spectroscopic properties, organic reactions, and analytical methods of carotenoproteins. The goal is not write a important conceps of carotenoid but to provide a technical methods that may be useful to researchers of natural products chemistry.

  • 기술확산 단계에서 이루어지는 기술대안에 대한 평가는 단순한 과정이 아니고, 기술적 특성뿐만 아니라 경제적 효과 등 여러 가지 요소들이 고려되어야 하는 복합적인 평가과정을 가지게 된다. 이는 오늘날 산업계 각 분야에서 바람직한 기술대안의 평가, 선정 및 적용이 기업경쟁우위에 지대한 영향을 미치며 나아가 기업의 생존 및 성장을 좌우하기 때문이다. 본 연구에서는 열공급시스템의 기술적 대안 선정을 위한 방법론으로서 MAUT 방법을 고찰하고, 이 방법의 실무적 적용 가능성을 검토하기 위해 에너지기술분야의 폐열 활용시스템 대안들에 대한 평가에 적용한 결과를 제시하였다.
